Iron Heart | 9oz Selvedge Ombré Check Work Shirt | Indigo

- Iron Heart have knocked it out of the park with this selvedge ombré check work shirt. The IHSH-277-IND is Iron Heart's latest iteration from their much sort after shirting line and it's proven to be hugely popular, selling out in most sizes.
The selvedge cotton flannel comes unbrushed and is a blend of rope-dyed indigos and sulphur-dyed blues which will of course fade over time, I cannot wait! The details are of the highest quality and should be seen to be believed.

I started buying into the hype of “it’ll last forever” and started buying Pendleton shirts, and then I realized, I have cheap cotton flannels from Walmart for the last 10 years and I still wear them, so I think when you say “it’ll last 10 years” it’s an understatement, to justify a 300$ shirt, the shirt should last generations! Maybe it’s just me and my climate, I’m not wearing flannels year round, maybe colder climates you can wear out a flannel faster
Fantastic shirt, IH are amazing! Those guys at Rivet & Hide equally so! Enjoy!
Your shirt review basically sealed the deal when this was coming up tbh! I watched it a few times and was like. "Yep, Sold!" Im not usually a bright/bold colour guy, i like darker colours like your western. So this was a leap for me, but glad i did, love it!
You should do a sizing video for iron heart
the shirt looks so much better in the video than on the iron heart photos.
Thanks man. Agree ;)
How does this compare to the same named Iron Heart IHSH-349 9oz Selvedge Ombré Check Work Shirt - Indigo? It’s on rivet and hide right now
Picked up one of these used online for a good deal. Not sure of the year, has Belnap YKK pearl snap buttons, not Iron Heart branded snaps I've seen on recent ones. It had been listed for 2 or 3 months and the seller kept lowering the price. Seemed like no one bought it because it had some wrinkles. I used my steamer and all the wrinkles are now gone. Shirt in excellent condition. Didn't know there was the 9 oz and 12 oz versions. Thought they were the same. 9 oz = unbrushed interior, 12 oz = brushed interior. The one I got has a brushed exterior. Wore it out in the cold and it is windproof and very, very warm! I usually wear a Medium, western fit worked fine (shoulders could be a bit looser and body/midsection as well). Back is 28" long, sleeves are perfect length (stops right at the wrist). May try the Medium 12 oz UHF (Ultra Heavy Flannel) if I can find one used for a good deal or a Large western. Being 5'9", I think the Large would be too long in the arms since I saw a review on here of a guy 6'1" and the large fit him very well, I imagine the sleeves on the Large would be too long, not a fan of sleeves going over the hand, usually sleeves look too long and ill-fitting when they go over the hand and it's just plain annoying as well. Cheers from Portland Oregon
I love Ironheart. Quality stuff. Always get compliments on my wabash shirt.
Thats awesome, Luis. Can't wait to get out of lockdown and actually wear this more than around the block with the dog hah. Thanks for watching.
Just ordered this shirt from R&H. I can’t wait to receive and wear. It looks beautiful online and your video was very compelling and thoughtfully done. Thanks for sharing and I’m definitely keeping the chainstitch thread run off!
Hey Abel, glad you got one mate. Thanks for the kind words!
I picked this shirt up from rivet and hide this week. Yet to wear it, but absolutely love it. Its stunning.
Looks so good out in the sun too! Wear it well mate!
@@CameronO cheers dude. Keep up the quality videos. Love your content.
The endgame of all flannels
Haha don't say that. Where do i go to from here?
@@CameronO haha...only thing I could think of is from Freewheelers. I own just one of IH Flannel and I am still amazed by its quality and everything
Had talked myself out of picking up this shirt due to the steep price, but having just watched your video and seen how awesome the shirt is I've pulled the trigger on a medium from R & H. In my opinion this is one of the best colourways Iron Heart have ever done and I think I would have forever regretted not picking one up. My first Iron Heart flannel too.
Andrew mate, that's epic. I see medium just went out of stock too, so you got in there just in the nick of time. I was thinking what a great shirt to kick it off hey! It is hell expensive but I do think it will just get better with age. Enjoy it!
@@CameronO Yeah, medium all gone now so well please I checked out your great video. It should age beautifully but it's going to be a hard act to follow. Always promised myself one of their Ultra Heavy Flannels so I'll be keeping an eye out for something hopefully as stunning come next winter.
This is an expensive video. It cost me $375! 😂
In all seriousness, great review and I love the channel. I’m just getting into the world of Japanese denim, and find your videos entertaining, informative, and tempting. Also ended up buying some PBJ t-shirts from Rivet and Hide because of another video of yours. Lol
Thanks for the comments mate. Sorry I cost you the cash ahah. Honestly though, i couldn't find much info on these things when I was buying them way back when, so I started these vids to help people when deciding. Stuff ain't cheap so any info I could find was invaluable. Enjoy your new purchases!
i got my first ironheart shirt today. I got a green western one. My only gripe is that it seems to be cut a little short. Its very rigid; should be a lot of fun breaking in. If I can get 10 years out of this, I'll be happy. Im gonna be putting it through the wringer.
Nice one mate, enjoy it !!
Shirt looks absolutely fabulous. Great review also. You are spot on about the price, it really is eye watering. I just bought my first pair of IH jeans actually, a equally eye watery £311😬. I do keep looking at these shirts though, and yours is one of the nicest, so one day in the not to distant future I can see myself pulling the trigger on one of them😉. Enjoy!
Good choice on jeans! My 666s pair have been awesome. High prices, but high quality. This stuff should last so long
Very nice shirt, and agree with service from rivet and hide, they are really great.
These lighter ones seam to work better for me. As it’s hot most of the year in SO Cal. The thicker winter versions are really thick and warm. I do buy both tho. Love em. Perfect fit.
Agree though i love how the heavy ones drape. The thinner ones are nice for those sunny days. Been using mine a lot lately
Cameron, what do you think about the large uncharges that stores in the UK and US charge for Japanese denim & workwear brands. Its almost twice the price in many cases. I dont really understand it as business to business pay no duty internationally so it seems like an intentional decision to just charge a lot for many of these clothes. On top of this theres a linked issue that the brands seem to produce irregularly and in slightly less numbers to create artificial shortages making it a hassle to buy. What are your thoughts?
Great video and nice shirt! The red stitching looks awesome.. Keep the chainstitch-runoff if you can.
Chainstich-runoff! thats it! thanks Randy. It's staying.
Great video. I only have two Iron Heart work shirts because I wanted to give different brands a chance rather than become too brand loyal, but if I could only use one brand I would definitely go with Iron Heart. Some aspects of my Momotaro shirts seem even more heavy duty and detailed than Iron Heart, but IH has more interesting flannels and better cuts for my preferences.
Thanks Erik, agree on the brand loyalty thing. Id love to try a Momataro flannel. They did a yellow one this year i think that looks amazing! I'll get around to them soon.
Hi Cameron, clearly it’s one of the most beautiful shirt I’ve ever seen, I saw your video multiple times and it’s always the same result, I’m sad that I did not buy this one.
Thanks Remi, I'm sure next season there will be something just as amazing. They just keep coming out with such great stuff!
@@CameronO yes I hope they will.
That shirt fits you very well
Cheers man!
got that one from IR... really nice, just a tad too short for me in the body.. have you seen new flat head wester styles at R&H?
Another great video mate, shirt looks amazing. Might be a touch on the dear side for me, but who knows what will happen once the wine starts flowing!
Cheers Lawrence, it's punchy though mate, I'm still feeling it. The other half didn't know the price until she saw the vid. Death stares across the room! Watching these vids half cut gets me too man. I get it haha! cheers.
Yeah I bet you are. It is damn nice though and should last a lifetime hopefully. Well at least that’s how you get it past the Mrs, it’s the only way I justify any of my spends. Although watches tend to be a touch trickier! Keep up the great content mate 👍🏻
Do not cut off the chain stitch run off's.. hide the scissors. My wife wanted to do the same.
Hahah I've told her this. She aint touching it.
How do you find the buttons on the 9oz?
im 6 ft 44 inch chest, is a large good to go?
How does it compare with your blue the flat head shirt
Hey Devin, it obviously a lot thinner. The blue FH is older and WELL washed. So feels really soft and heavy. This IH one is very light feeling, but as you can see the attention to the construction is immense. Wish it had some thicker/bigger buttons though, forgot to say that in the vid.
If you had money to just buy one. Would you get this or the UES heavy shirt that you reviewed on your other video? Btw I don’t understand why you don’t have more views. You post great reviews.
Personally, ill go UES. But you need to think of what you are buying for. This IH is only 9oz so is basically a summer shirt. It is not warm at all. The UES ones are proper thick winter flannels. I haven't had a heavy IH flannel to compare too though.
How are the fades coming? Anything worthy of an update?
Nothing too noticeable. I was wearing it as an over-shirt for a while but only recently fully done up. It's due a wash. I've not washed it yet haha
Thanks for the review. Tried this very same shirt on in-store a few months back. I like the heaviness of the shirt but I find IH has a really blue collar workwear vibe to it that doesn't mesh well with my style. I personally prefer Gitman Vintage which is a little more modern, and fashion forward.
Thanks Nima. Yeah it's nice. Not an Ultra Heavy but still a fantastic shirt to jump into IH with. Thanks for watching.
This particular shirt wasn’t even available a few months ago. It is a ss21 release. But since it’s their typical work shirt style I imagine you could have tried something very similar. Understandable if you don’t prefer the style.
@@Erik-gd3or you’re right. It was this one - www.ironheart.co.uk/extinct/ihsh-130.html. Same name and style though. Just a light blue I stead of dark.
Do you own any stuff from Kapital? or Visvim?
Hey mate, I don't I'm not too familiar with the brands either. What they like?
I passed on this one because I'm a western shirt guy. and also remove this run off from my shirts... I can't help getting annoyed by it.
You western shirt guys! haha jokes. The grey western they dropped today is fire!
