Yes, Alex, you certainly CAN pull off a $10 haircut, and Emma definitely said it. Emma in full jealous, nervous breakdown mode is a thing of beauty and a joy forever. And it's not even as bad as it can get yet!
Looks like Emma got jealous. Its funny how she says she's finding out for her bet with Annie but she's also investigating because of her bet. Her backhanded compliment to.Alex was adorable and his response was even more so. I do adore the two of them together.
Favorite parts: 1. Emma obsessing/worrying about the Alex-Jane pairing 2. Alex's 'Frank Churchill haircut wave' 3. Alex insisting on that haircut compliment I love it when the episodes feature these two talking
Love the fact that even though we see character growth with Emma actually talking to Alex and being open about her questioning, she's still not quite fully there since she still had to "spy" with the fake meeting in the first place. Baby steps.
Amazing episode, mostly because we saw how important it is to Emma that Alex and Jane have any type of romantic relationship. She cares so much, and it's obvious it's not about any bet, it's about her hidden feelings for Alex. Or at least we, non-readers of the book, love to think that. Anyways, maybe we didn't see much spark between Jane and Alex, but I'm pretty sure I did with Emma and Alex. I know, I know it was a small talk, but I don't know, everytime they talk I see chemistry, I feel it. So yes, actors, great work!
ok I freaking love at 5:12 how alex is smiling because he knows emma bet on him NOT being in love with jane. idk I feel like he's happy that she knows he'd never go for jane when he's so obviously in love with emma.
I really like that throwaway comment about Miss Bates and Mr. Woodhouse. There's a lit crit theory about the book that Miss Bates is actually Emma's real mother, since they have the same first name, which was a common indicator.
Umm, in the book, Miss Bates's first name is Hetty (so probably Henrietta or Hester or something like that). Not Emma. Where on earth did the author of the lit crit book get that idea?
Okay, that would actually make a little bit more sense, because "Hetty" can be a nickname for "Harriet." But still. Think about Miss Bates. Do you really think she would have been able to bear a child out of wedlock and keep it a secret? And have that child living in her own town? Umm, no.
***** Harriet was away at school before the start of the book, Still, I agree with you about the theory. There's no way that Miss Bates would have kept a child secret unless she took a long vacation in another country. Still, I highly doubt it.
I either haven't been paying attention or Emma's hair suddenly got lighter. Alex has an old phone in his office!! Oh and his eyes are totally screaming "Emma I want you not Jane!!" Ooh watch Churchill swagger in on the next episode!!
EVERYBODY gets a better life! I love Emma. "Strange, pseudo-alternative foods." Like Icelandic yogurt and celery soda? "You climb rocks! She can too!" Emma, watch yourself there. You're almost trying to convince him there.
There needs to be a way to incorporate Alex saying "fancy haircut" into more episodes. And I like the version of Emma who just asks rather than schemes (amusing though her schemes may be...)
Okay, this is definitely one of my favourite episodes! One great line after another, flawless acting and insane chemistry between Emma and Alex. I love it!
Gaaaah! Emma and Knightly cuteness!!! Loving it!!! Such a difference between Jane/Knightly and Emma/Knightly. Although at this point I don't think Emma is jealous. She doesn't realize that she loves him until later. I think mostly she was taken by surprise at the idea.
The way Emma's face plummets into absolute panic at 4:25 when Alex says he does like Jane...oh man. That poker face just flew right out the window didn't it?
Sigh, every time our snarky Knightley smiles, I'm fairly certain an angel gets it's wings. Anyway, this episode was really cute. I like the Jane/Alex friendship. And I love how we all know Emma wasn't just glad to win her bet. ; )
The actors seem to have really grown into their roles; they're so much more convincing than I remember them being at the start. Or maybe I've just grown to like them more :)
I found myself nodding to Emma's comment about the whole chemistry thing, and then watching closely at Emma and Alex's conversation in the later half of the video. Definite sparks there!
Jane tends to close off conversations by just answering questions. That's probably why Emma has such difficulties talking to her - Jane doesnt gossip lol
That's a good observation. You can see that when Alex talks to her, he's not just asking questions, he's engaging her in a conversation. And he opened with a non-prying question. "How do you like it here?" Emma, though... it's no wonder Jane closes off instantly in her presence.
Oooooh. I bet Emma wins Alex and we;ll get EA's version of the "It's not like we're brother and sister scene" from the book, except with regards to them going out on a date.
I greatly enjoyed the episode (skarky-knightley's laugh and then apologetic look is just so perfect) but honestly, I could not stand a boss like Emma. Calling out a fake meeting? It's so childish it's crazy, I know it's Emma but still... It's supposed to be a workplace of sorts.
"So are Maddie Bates and your Father, but that doesn't make them a couple!" BEST LINE. Also the way he looked slightly ashamed of himself when he laughed at Emma protesting she doesn't like to gossip was so cute.
yyaayy!! It's finally starting to pick up the pace. It's great to get to see more scenes with Emma relaxed, and not "on" for her documentation of greatness. Episodes like these make me appreciate how much she is "on" in the previous episodes. It makes her more likable and easy to relate to, knowing that she is mostly just trying too hard to fit in (just like the rest of us) and that the real Emma isn't as egotistical. Which I believe, is exactly the way the story is supposed to unfold. Alex is doing a great job inadvertently playing hard to get hahaha. Great episode!! :)
"Everybody gets a better life!" The Earth's crust cracks open. Oprah climbs out and fuses with Emma. "YOU get a better life! YOU get a better life! EVERYBODY GETS A BETTER LIIIIIFE!"
I just want to say: GOOD JOB! Honestly. Directing, Writing, CINEMATOGRAPHY, Stylist, Acting (I now wish I haven't started naming departments in case I forget someone so I'm going to end it here)- EVERYONE! You can see this is a brilliant amalgamation of talent. And to be honest, I didn't like it much in the beginning but MAN have you guys grown. I think the break you guys took really paid off. Anyway, kudos.
When Jane looks at the camera, it feels like she's just seeing a camera. But when Alex looks at the camera, it feels like he can actually see us. Same with Emma. I really like that about them.
I wonder if, from Jane's perspective, Emma is her Maddie Bates?
the way emma's smile completely drops off the face of the earth when alex said that he likes jane tho....
Ikr
Oh my goodness, yesssssss
What I heard "She has a lot of great qualities but she isn't you"
It shows such character development that Emma went and actually asked Alex.
Yes, Alex, you certainly CAN pull off a $10 haircut, and Emma definitely said it.
Emma in full jealous, nervous breakdown mode is a thing of beauty and a joy forever. And it's not even as bad as it can get yet!
Unsure and fragile Emma is my favorite Emma- probably because she's so rare. Like a unicorn. A nervous unicorn.
Knightley types about as well as BMart does :)
It's so great that you comment on these videos. We miss you!
I love Alex Knightley to the ends of this earth.
We all do. He's like my favorite person.
Looks like Emma got jealous. Its funny how she says she's finding out for her bet with Annie but she's also investigating because of her bet. Her backhanded compliment to.Alex was adorable and his response was even more so. I do adore the two of them together.
We heard it too Alex, we heard it too.
Favorite parts:
1. Emma obsessing/worrying about the Alex-Jane pairing
2. Alex's 'Frank Churchill haircut wave'
3. Alex insisting on that haircut compliment
I love it when the episodes feature these two talking
I demand more Emma/Alex cutesy moments!
Love the fact that even though we see character growth with Emma actually talking to Alex and being open about her questioning, she's still not quite fully there since she still had to "spy" with the fake meeting in the first place. Baby steps.
Ah, Emma. Your Knightley feels are showing and I must say that it is delightful. You'll get there soon :D
Can;t wait!
"no keep going, this is fun" emma says through clenched teeth. I LOVE IT.
Amazing episode, mostly because we saw how important it is to Emma that Alex and Jane have any type of romantic relationship. She cares so much, and it's obvious it's not about any bet, it's about her hidden feelings for Alex. Or at least we, non-readers of the book, love to think that.

Awh did you see Emma's smile drop when Alex said he liked Jane?
When Emma started listing off all the reasons why Jane would be great for Alex, i wanted to scream at her to stop! Don't convince him about it, Emma!!
I can not get over how pretty Emma/Joanna's eyes are. They're the perfect shade of brown.
Why thank you. Sincerely, someone with the same eye shade as Joanna.
Jane trying to avoid eye contact with the camera is adorable. Loved this episode.
I loved Alex's motion to imitate Franks haircut. So great !
Emma's face at 4:24 was the best part of this episode! Oh, the jealousy. And Alex giving her all the hints was just PERFECT. Can't wait for more!
Joanna and Brent's chemistry makes this show.
I swear this is probably the cutest Knightley episode we have ever had.
when emma and alex were talking i couldn't help but smile like an idiot
You are not the only one. :).
Yeah, that was everyone :)
what about when they smile at each other?? T__T
We all die of a glorious combination of happiness and adorableness.
Rachel Khan ahaha ALWAYS...
Aww, Alex and Emma are so adorable it beats the words.
Emma and alex's outfits are always so complimentary i love it
ok I freaking love at 5:12 how alex is smiling because he knows emma bet on him NOT being in love with jane. idk I feel like he's happy that she knows he'd never go for jane when he's so obviously in love with emma.
My new favorite Alex and Emma scene. Oh the flirting oh the feels!
I really like that throwaway comment about Miss Bates and Mr. Woodhouse. There's a lit crit theory about the book that Miss Bates is actually Emma's real mother, since they have the same first name, which was a common indicator.
Really? I had never heard that! D:
Umm, in the book, Miss Bates's first name is Hetty (so probably Henrietta or Hester or something like that). Not Emma. Where on earth did the author of the lit crit book get that idea?
The only theory along those lines I have seen is that Miss Bates is Harriet's mom: www.jasna.org/persuasions/printed/number7/lank.html
Alex's hairflip was unquestionably the highlight of this entire series.
"And you get a better life and you get a better life and EVERYBODY gets a better life!"
Emma has an inner Oprah. :)
I thought the same thing.
I either haven't been paying attention or Emma's hair suddenly got lighter.
Alex has an old phone in his office!!
Oh and his eyes are totally screaming "Emma I want you not Jane!!"
Ooh watch Churchill swagger in on the next episode!!
I heard it too, Alex. :) :) Oh my gosh, Emma at the end trying to lure Jane into her cue. My fav. :)
jealous emma... jealous knightley... emma and knightley cuteness... I LOVE THIS EPISODE :D
EVERYBODY gets a better life! I love Emma. "Strange, pseudo-alternative foods." Like Icelandic yogurt and celery soda? "You climb rocks! She can too!" Emma, watch yourself there. You're almost trying to convince him there.
This ep was just pure fluff. Loved it.
Jane is so pretty!
Might be my favorite episode so far. LOVED when Emma's face dropped when Knightley said he liked Jane.
There needs to be a way to incorporate Alex saying "fancy haircut" into more episodes.
And I like the version of Emma who just asks rather than schemes (amusing though her schemes may be...)
Hahaha Alex is perfect. "I heard it." oh Emma, I just giggle at her plans. Loved this episode. :)
This actor playing Mr. Knightly is so epically perfect. Gah!
Squeeeee, that Emma_Alex interaction was so cute!
I'm so in love with Knighthouse it's not even funny!!!!! Their banter is AMAZING! And Alex's impression of Frank is my new favorite thing!!
Aw, these two,They are so adorable not knowing they both like each other. So cute!
I love that the joking banter between Emma and Alex wasn't so forced this episode. And the slight flirtatiousness -
The way Emma's face plummets into absolute panic at 4:25 when Alex says he does like Jane...oh man. That poker face just flew right out the window didn't it?
Yes Alex. She said it! Love the hand gesture to describe Frank's hair. LOL
Every episode that comes out makes me love this series more and more!
Sigh, every time our snarky Knightley smiles, I'm fairly certain an angel gets it's wings.
Anyway, this episode was really cute. I like the Jane/Alex friendship. And I love how we all know Emma wasn't just glad to win her bet. ; )
I just can't wait till we get more Emma & Alex moments! Love them together :)
WE ALL HEARD IT ALEX
I love the run of Television themed titles.
God, this adaptation is excellent--such fantastic ways of bringing an old story into present context. One of my favorite episodes!
What a good episode. Needed some good Emma/Alex interaction. Also, writers, please include more of Alex mimicking Frank. That was priceless.
Knightly slayed me in this episode. Brent's mannerisms and faces are wonderful.
Okay, OH MY GOD Emma's face drop when Alex says that he likes Jane is the single most important thing ever.
ugh all the cuteness!!!!! i love it! so nicely done! and greaaat acting!
all of alex's side comments throughout this series. they are. the best.
The end, tho. LOL. Literal laughing out loud. That was absolutely *hilarious*. Frank and his "fancy" haircut.

Emma, though... it's no wonder Jane closes off instantly in her presence.
This episode is one of the funnier ones!
Emma and Alex-centric episodes are always the best episodes.
She goes and asks Alex face to face 😱 I ship Emma and Alex so hard ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's so cute how jealous emma is!
So the "brother and sister. No indeed!" bit is going to include Emma bidding on (and winning?) Alex? RIGHT?!
OMG favourite episode by far! So much awesomeness and cuteness between the two of them!
I love all of their interactions. Emma and Alex are amazing together.
Their banter is literally the cutest 😍
LMAO! This episode was adorable! Too many little lines that I loved & had me cracking up.
Oooooh. I bet Emma wins Alex and we;ll get EA's version of the "It's not like we're brother and sister scene" from the book, except with regards to them going out on a date.
Such a great episode! Probably my favorite opening sequence of the show.
The way Emma's face drops when Alex is like "Yes of course, I like Jane..."
I'm dead.
bahahah "Frank Churchill and his fancy haircut" YES
Gaah my heart might just burst from the cuteness in this episode!
Oh, Emma, your ranting and endless denial. You want him so bad.
THAT'S THE BEST EMMA/KNIGHTLEY EPISODE SO FAR.
I'm all hopes and joy.
Alex and Emma are magic together..
probably my favorite emma approved so far eeeee alex and emma are adorable
The haircut dialogue was the best part of this video. XD
That conversation between Emma and Alex=perfection! Hahaha 😁❤😄
KNIGHTHOUSE
KNIGHTHOUSE
KNIGHTHOUSE!!!!
Oh, the butterflies I feel when they're cute together. Nice episode all around!
Emma's nails are immaculate. Definitely going to paint mine now.
"So are Maddie Bates and your Father, but that doesn't make them a couple!" BEST LINE. Also the way he looked slightly ashamed of himself when he laughed at Emma protesting she doesn't like to gossip was so cute.
Well, wasn't this just the stinkin' cutest episode all-around.
Emma's face COMPLETELY fell when Alex said he liked Jane. Girl, we see you.

Anyway, kudos.
They''re soooo cute ♥♥ I could watched an entire movie just with them talking!
Emma and Alex are so sweet! I loved this episode *-*
Omg this episode...can't handle it
Best episode!! This show gets better and better!
When Jane looks at the camera, it feels like she's just seeing a camera. But when Alex looks at the camera, it feels like he can actually see us. Same with Emma. I really like that about them.
Really loving this series. :D So many good moments in this episode!
