Shelby county has a larger population than Nashville (939,500 for Shelby) and (Davidson 705,000) Nashville counts many other counties to get their 694,000 for the city. The Nashville metro has more population 1.9 million to 1.3 million, but Nashville counts about 15 or more counties for this number.

I drive thru the city daily and watching the change meanwhile media & fake out of towners videos like these try to blemish what's already was known. Fords Blue oval city,Tesla,Google *1 of only 4* being built in the world,FedEx expanding, 6/7 giant Amazon warehouses, and a whole lot of positive communities being built on the outskirts of Memphis. Lived here all my life & understand it needed change which is happening. Memphis beauty & growth stunted from corrupt politicians, *racism*,and jealousy trickling down to the locals suffering!
I once worked at (not for) Federal Express. When I walked in at 7;00 AM, I worked at the Marigot Café and we had to have breakfast ready for the day shift, I walked past the security office, like I had done everyday. I was suddenly garbed from behind, lifted of the ground and slimmed into the wall. I don't mean pushed, I was lifteda foot off the ground and had my head shammed agent the concrete block wall, When my head cleared a huge ma was standing ofer me with a 357 Colt Python agents my forehead, and was putting me in handcuffs. The building security manager who I new on sight came up. He had a Colt Automatic in a shoulder holster, which he didn't take out. He also didn't say anything. The huge man, who I found out later was an ex NFL lineman screamed "what are you doing here"? I tried to explain that I was going to work. I had on a FedEx ID badge. Two uniformed guards appeared and pointed 12ga pump shotguns at my head. They then ripped my D of and hustled me into what would have been mistaken for a Memphis Police squad car and drove me of the "campus". When I got my wind, one of them said be quiet, we are just trying to get you out of there. Don't you know who that is?, I didn't. He was the vice president of security for the whole company, and a former NFL star. When I explained what happened one of them said "we know". so I asked why no one said anything, he just said "he's crazy", we just wanted to get you out. I decided to never work for anyone again, and get by on disability. As they like to say there' are only two kinds of people in Memphis, those who work for Federal Express, and those who want to.

You need to fact check before you post a video about a city. Tornados usually jump over us or only touch down from storm cells that moved northwest from Mississippi. There has been only a few that have actually touched down and stayed long enough to do any type of damage and that’s a few at MOST.
Nashville is surrounded by fast growing successful counties. They call it the doughnut. Rutherford, Williamson (the richest county in the state), Wilson and Sumner are all exploding in growth. Memphis doesn’t have anything close to that.
@@carlklein9385

Memphis just like any other city has its problems! It was on Forbes top cities 10 to move to before the pandemic! Memphis is being diversified & gentrified at a higher rate! Food is great! Nashville food sucks, crime is hidden but I still love it there! Nashville and Memphis use to compete on the criminal levels until Nashville's boom. Back to Memphis, it's expanding and companies & restaurants are moving back in at a rapid pace.
Food is trash. Plus most of the restaurants there have roaches.
The google office is in Southaven Mississippi, not Memphis.
Bullshit
Memphis is awful.

Tornados? Lol no way I’ve been here for 22 years and haven’t experienced this. Maybe some flooding that’s about it
If you haven’t noticed any tornadoes you haven’t been paying attention.
You need to fact check before you post a video about a city. Tornados usually jump over us or only touch down from storm cells that moved northwest from Mississippi. There has been only a few that have actually touched down and stayed long enough to do any type of damage and that’s a few at MOST. To add tornados to the list is a waste of time take it from someone who has lived here all their life. Most of the tornados break up once it hits the bluff
And trust me it’s kinda hard not to notice a tornado.

Its a lot of info that's misdirected. A lot true. But we aren't an unhealthy look down in me type place. We never realized tourist, they become part of the city. We have vegan BBQ and highways to help commute. We have so many schools because we rather have Less busses for emission and savings. Kids are near their school in their neighborhood instead bussed out the district. It wouldn't make since. We only have bad weather during May amd October. Frozen February and sunny the rest of the year. We have a green line for working out and multiple workout meet up spots, trails, parks and free health classes. Poverty is everywhere but we are also lower on taxes amd revenue than most cities. Gang activity is not bad here. Our crimes are high due to stolen cars and part. We are not this bad
Thank you!
This person clearly has no idea what Memphis is really like. You drive through a few times and look up a few statistics that may or may not be current or fully accurate. While Memphis is no where near a perfect city, it is home to some truly genuinely nice people and some of the best cooking I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Memphis for sure needs some improvement here and there, but politics and social issues aside, the city is doing the best it can with what it has. And no... I highly doubt Elvis could do anything about the crime and homeless issues in the city. What an absolute asinine thing to say. 🤣
