As an entrepreneur, I was mocked by many people 12 years ago as I planted these Pine tress that have now grown into a forest park in the middle of Kira.
Nyungu Yamawe is inspired by the concept of African heritage, culture, identity and we also monitories the growth of the green hub instead of purposing to make money when they have grown since Kampala has lost almost 98% of its forest cover hence conserving the environment.
At the very first, it was conservation but as time went on opportunities knocked at the door and we had to let them in. With the history of Tanzania, Nyungu Yamawe Forest Park is inspired by the African heritage and identity. Since Nyungu was a very successful king and many other people in history of the same kind are celebrated and remembered through studying about them in history but it gets more excited when we put these African hero's to life as we get physical things to help us remember them and not just history yo read.
And that why when one gets to Nyungu Yamawe, we take you through the design and identity of Nyungu Yamawe as part of the African heritage as well as combining it with the environment for example the infrastructure. The design of the rooms is formed as a result of gender equality and feminism because the shape of the cottage is very feminism in nature but the finishing inside is quite masculine hence being creative.
