these issues are common to me.. Unlike my elder sister, me, I wear hijaab, and sometimes, my parents find it annoying. they're sort of embarrassed by it, and I am often seen as the weird one.. it is quite discouraging. but , I need to keep in mind that this hijaab is for the sake of ALLAH, AND NOBODY ELSE. so, all the young muslims striving in the way of ALLAH... keep hope.. He won't let us down :)
This is exactly my situation right now. Suddenly I changed like a good muslim and everyone of my family make fun of me. I really want to change them as I changed. I want Jannah with them all. I wish Allah gives me the strength to change their mind, with my best behavior as a muslim. Ameen
As Salam Aleikoum. I am in the same situation as you. However, you must know that it is not you that will change your family's mind, but it is Allah that will do it In Sha Allah. We need to be patient as brother Nouman said and we need to make du'aa. May Allah help you and may Ar Rahman grants you Jannatul Firdaous. Ameen

What an inspirational video , it has really convinced me to change my ways . He is right about the bit where people say remember how you were like last year and all sorts of things. The truth is it's not too late to change.
U r right in every word. It's about us not the religion. The appearance usually is the 1st thing that changes ,then the mind & heart follow. In the beginning we become a bit tough thinking that we are jealous for the religion. What ever we are , we can never be more jelous than God. God ordered us to be gentle, then even the enemy will be a close friend , he told us that this is not easy , it neads patience, And patience needs a support from God. So I ask god to give us patience & Guide us the straight path, Amen
Religion is a shortcut, full of promises, none are ever met. It is an easier thing to accept, because it sounds so beautiful to the most of us. Taking a harder road, is the one without religion, where you have to clearly and only rely on yourself and your abilities, no matter how hard your life seems to be at the moment. It is a more difficult road to take, but oh man trust me what a journey you will have. Everything around is you built by people that are not better than you, make your mark!

I enjoyed watching MBC the Life of Umar on youtube as it shows how Islam transformed the lives of the Idolaters even though at first they hated to even listen to the Quran and subjected Muslims to the vilest of treatment. People are always afraid of the unknown, so try to educate your parents in a goodly manner about Islam.
After coming to Canada and learning true Islam, i was really Happy until i tried to bring it on to my parents and sisters! they r just simply do not want to listen and then its very hard to keep patience! Also parents ego comes into the middle and told me "U r trying to teach me!" i just laugh and tell my mom, no i m trying to educate u! then she says, do not know what u have turned into since we send to Canada for Education! first i wanted to get scholarship to go abroad for my masters and further studies... now i hope i hope and really wish to get there and register myself to his school, hes really motivational thats what i like about him, he gets to the level where i can understand him so easily that its like talking to a friend, whereas other speakers that i have in the masjid near my house in Lahore Pakistan, i dont get them as much as i understand his lectures... Have you ever heard Br.Nouman before? As I said earlier, he is a day'ii, and work of a day'ii is to give a reminder to the people. And every dawah is NOT supposed to be for non-muslims, PLEASE get back to the teachings of Islam. Islam teaches us to first put our own people on the right path and THEN proceed further and this is EXACTLY what Br.Nouman does. He has pulled a great number of youth back to Islam, atleast just read all the comments on his videos so you may know what he has done.

My parents and sisters still live back home! so i can not even support the best possible way i can! or bring nice videos like this of Nouman Ali to share with them! distance making it also really hard! beside, living in a Muslim county and getting benefit as granted make people hard to understand Islam! for example, i have to think or read for ingredients even before i decide to eat something outside! I like the way brother Nauman Ali Khan explained the problems associated in being Muslim. This life itself is a test from ALLAH. We all will be tested differently. We should always remain patient. ALLAH always does everything for the best. May ALLAH bring peace in this world.
The issues he talks about are the SAME issues which has come when I started practicing Islam a couple of times before n the reason I couldn't hold on to practicing was that I DID NOT have these words to show me the solutions to my problems, someone who I could see that relates to my problem and understands those problems and THEN gives the solution.
