- The New York Hardcore Chronicles 10 Questions w/ "The Godfather Of New York Hardcore" Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front / Madball / The Eliminators)
Directed by Drew Stone
Coolest thing about the old NYHC scene is the large number of unique characters & personalities! All seem to be the most polite,
down-to-earth & honest guys.
As a pale, skinny 15 year old smalltown kid I once talked to Vinnie Stigma with at the merch table after an AF show in Germany using my crappy school English. He took some time & talked to me like I was an old friend he just hasn't seen in a while. My intention was to buy a patch, he handed me a bunch of them with a handful of stickers + other stuff. While I handed him the money, he just flipped the stuff over the table, shook my hand and said "thanks a lot for coming, hope to see you next time". Sounds pathetic, but since then I knew Punk & HC is "my place".
I saw Agnostic Front in a small club in Missouri a couple years back. Both Vinnie and Roger were super cool and down to earth when I met them. Took time to chat with my wife and I, and they seemed to really appreciate us coming out that night. Hope to see them again soon!
It ain't corny bro hardcore is a lifestyle & you learned that from a legend I'm jealous lol
That's not pathetic.
This man is a national treasure
he should have his own show.
Stigma reality show!
Not a reality show, a late night talk show.
no doubt! I'd watch that show if that happens
Fukin' 4 REAL. I'd watch it religiously.
Cousin Vinnie is like the Yogi Berra of punk rock.
he should be in a scorcesse movie
Scorsese needs to do a hard-core movie. Maybe partner up with a younger director as well.
@@VinnySmiles01 if he worked with some of the pioneers if the scene. I think he could do a good movie about.
@@maxcadey9223 I agree. Maybe go on John Joseph’s street crime tour.
Not hardcore, but Scorsese actually announced a Ramones movie maybe 5 years ago. IDK what happened to it. Would give him a chance to revisit 1970’s NYC, Taxi Driver style.
@@LetsGoMetsGo33 I’ve been waiting for that to be back in talks when I heard about it. Fingers crossed.
It’s hard to believe he’s closing in on 70. Easily one of my top 5 favorite hardcore dudes.
"Minor Tchreat" 3>3
And "First pizzeria-r in America". Vinny adds an "R" after any word that ends in letter "a"... That's a real NYC accent for you
The most hardcore dude of all time
I could listen to him all day every day, absolute legend.
Vinnie's the best. That's no act, he's really like that. Met him a few times, super nice guy.
if you don't come you're marked! that look on his face.
Vinnie is my all time favorite
I'd love to see Vinnie with Joe Rogan. That would be crazy!
PillBox UK
They would be good. The wouldn’t be able to talk a lot about the scene or music because I think Joe doesn’t know about that stuff.
rogan dont kno bro
White Bread yeah but for once joe would just listen instead of interrupting his guest 😆
Rogan would just talk about DMT.
@@dknox90803 hahahahah!
Vinnie for president !
I love vinnie brings up poison idea... Great Portland band.. Favorite band
I can't shake the feeling off that Vinnie could have been in mobster movies like Goodfellas or Casino! :) Love this guy! And love those interviews. Thanks a lot.
nofx989
He directed a movie and is in it. I watched it on here. What you would think it is.
Love that Slang shirt. Great band from Japan worth checking out.
Six bands at 6 on the 6th, wow the enemy never rests
"that's not a wig. that's real". hahahaha. so awesome.
One word LEGEND..
Awesome dude. Everytime I seen him come to Chicago he takes time for the fans. True HC.
He's awesome!! I could listen to him tell stories all fuckin day!!
This guy could play in mafia movie with this accent. I can't understand everything what he says but I love it anyway :D
A legend, AF are one of my favorite bands ever.
Scorcese needs to put him in a movie.
Smoked with him in Atlanta in 96. One of my crowning achievements in life.
Poor idiot.
What a great personality
I am still in awe that I got to meet and get a photo with Vinnie and Roger. I was so offended that most of the crowd either didn't know or didn't appreciate them. I felt like I was meeting GOD himself.
best one so far.
No B.S. - I had Vinnie in the cab last night.... from JFK !!! GREAT GUY !!!
That's pretty funny. Down to Mott Street?
@@stonefilmsnyc Not snitchin' ;D

"There's Franky's...he's got the square"....my grandma and ma make the square pizza. Drove me nuts as a kid. Ma...why cant you make a round pizza 🤣
I was in NY for the 25th anniversary of Victim In Pain...it was 6 days after my birthday. I first saw AF at Reseda Country Club on Oct 6th 1990....6 days before my 15th birthday. After the anniversary show in NY, i came out of the bathroom and for some reason Stigma locked eyes with me, like he knew i had something to tell him and its like his eyes said "come tell me your story kid". As i approached him he gravitated towards me and i told him how i first saw them in1990 6 days before my bday and here i was seeing them 6 days after my 35th birthday. He remembered the Reseda show, hugged me and said thanks for sharing my story and happy birthday. Shit comes full circle.
legend
Still The Kid!Love ya Vinny from Boston!😀
Vinnie..we fukin luv you..!
Thanks for keeping it real 🤘🏽
love stigma!
I saw madball and vision of disorder back in 97 at the capitol ballroom in DC.
GIGANTE VINNIE STIGMA!!!
I seen Agnostic Front in Harrisonburg Va at a Pirate themed pizzeria named Captain Ts in the back after hours and it was a heck of a show , I met Roger really down to earth dude God bless YALL , but I heard Roger wasn’t thrilled about playing as he said a “ Chucky Cheese “ 😂 Captain Ts was a Awesome place though for us , Death before Dishonor Darkest Hour and many others , fucking good times man 👊
Boston loves Agnostic Front
Nice one dude.
Máximo Respeito !!
Greetings from Brazil !!!
Addendum to amazing hardcore drummers.
Robo: (Black Flag, Misfits)
D.H. Peligro: (Dead Kennedy's)
Lucky Lehrer: ( Circle Jerks)
Walter Gustafson: (Gang Green)
I have to give a shout to Garry Sullivan for his awesome playing on the new Cro-Mags album In the Beginning also.
With all of these questions about 'best (1st wave) hardcore drummer', I'm hearing no one mention of Rob Williams of Siege. Such a shame being that Siege influenced alot of "latter-wave" extreme sub-genres that were to come.
love the big shout out to Poison Idea
Stigma for president of the friggin universe. 👏
ringa fiya
Ahhh! Pig Champion! P.I.! One. Of. The. Best.
Boston Hardcore in the house.
Saw Coldside w AF. Hell of show.
word power is my favorite agnostic front song
Nicholas McLoughlin THE ANTI SOCIAL BEING !! HUMAN DISCHARGE ,A FASCIST REGIME!!!!
I fuckin love you Vinny
Vinnie reminds me of a NY hardcore version of Ronnie Wood from the Stones for some reason.
The cig in the mouth is missing, but yeah, ron wood from nyc haha
Stigma knows about No Labels. That guy's cooler than I already knew he was.
Home team! STIGMA!
seems more proud about havin real hair than anything else
Michael Fairley I would too at that age
Can't blame him. It's rare at that age.
I would be too if it weren’t for the fact I got that baldness gene.
Da Godfada
Vinny, you are a gangster! Tattoo on my arm; AF for life brother!
"Minuh T'ret..." 😜
Dego HAAADCOA!!!
Nice slang shirt.
When Harvey Keitel is in trouble somewhere Vinnie Stigma senses something ain't right.
I was 4 for that August 6 show. lol
Powah
Vinnie we love you bro :)
Let's do top 5 hardcore drummers.
1. Earl Hudson (Bad Brains)
2. Chick Biscuits (D.O.A., Danzig, Social Distortion)
3. Mackie Jayson ( Cro-Mags, Bad Brains)
4. Jeff Nelson (Minor Threat)
5. Reed Mullin (Corrosion of Conformity)
That's about right.
Is that a slang (jpn) shirt?
Stigma is cool as fuck.
Forget Alexa, Siri and these other automated voiceovers. Vinnie should be the voiceover
Fucking great dude
Stigma is the Best! Long live the Godfather of Hardcore!
Will Shepler was one of your best drummers! No doubt.
Then Paulie Mandel. Come on Vinnie...
That's a Velcro wig!
I hear Arnold Horseshack the way he says some words lol
Is it any wonder he's a fuckin' legend?
Stigma🕸👽🕸👽🔥👽🕸👽🔥😜🤘
The SIN Club show was the one where Polly got stabbed and yeah Willie No Edge was the best & missed!
I hope this Festival Summer with Agnostic Front will happen and we all can forget that Virus shit!!!
Vinnie played w Will Shepler for years and he's stumped mentioning a good hc drummer?!? cmon lol
Vinnie is og as fuck
he sounds like an old mafioso mom or aunt, he has that womanly warmth and humor. maybe thats why he is so loved by all
SLANG T-shirt!!
Does anybody know whatever happened to the guy willie no edge he said passed away? So where in nyc do these guys play now? Most of the clubs like cbgb’s and Max’s are closed now..
Pete Camiolo I think AF are doing some Europe dates now.
I saw Sheer Terror last year up in Albany in a place that used to be called QE2. Legendary hardcore spot for that area. Also saw biohazard there in 2012. Murphy's law just played a few nights ago at the civic Center in Poughkeepsie NY. So places like that.
Lucky 13 in Brooklyn, Mother Pug's in Staten Island are a couple of good spots. There are still many places for bands to play.
They don't make NYers like this anymore.
CBGBs!!!!
I always thought Vinnie & the Stigmatatics was a good band name. Fukin' A tho... Is it even possible to be more of a NYC guido?!? 1:47 Need any more proof? I fukin' love him.
Minahh Tret
In almost every episode of this show One band keeps being mentioned CORROSION OF CONFORMITY accept no substitutes...
no one band that is always mentioned is not COC, it is the bad brains
Minah Tret
what accent he speaks ?
Italian American in downtown New York City
Danzig and Samhain used to play at Max's Kansas city all the time back in the day.
