On the Amalfi Coast, halfway between Amalfi and Ravello, there is this prestigious property with breathtaking views of the crystal-clear sea of the Gulf of Sorrento.
Built between the 10th and 11th centuries, the villa was used as a watchtower and first defence, later as a monastery.
An enchanting driveway, surrounded by nature and the sea, leads directly to the property which, with a total internal surface of 1,000 square meters, includes the main villa, a villa for staff and five annexes, which offer a total of thirteen rooms bedroom and fifteen bathrooms.
Crossing the main entrance we find ourselves immersed in an enchanting garden embellished with cypresses, palm trees and a fountain that creates a seraphic atmosphere, as well as two big panoramic terraces on both sides.
The garden leads to the main villa, which has two floors and basement. On the ground floor there is the reception room, originally the chapel of the monastery, with high ceilings and floors with Vietri tiles, embellished with a working fireplace and frescoes added later. In addition to the living room we find the dining room, which was obtained by digging into the rock, still visible today, with a skylight that illuminates the environment and with a guest bathroom, a small study and double access to the external area. The dining room is connected to a kitchen equipped with a patio, which overlooks the uncontaminated nature of the place, and to a panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy splendid "al-fresco" meals and convivial moments.
The upper floor, accessible from the dining room or from an independent external staircase, consists of a second living room with a bathroom shared with the guest room, with a private terrace and access to the swimming pool, while on the staggered upper levels there are two master suites. with private bathroom and walk-in closet, plus private balconies overlooking the garden. On the top floor there is a panoramic terrace that can be used as a sunbathing area with a 360-degree view and an outdoor shower.
In the basement, accessible from the living room, there is a small bar with a relaxation area and a bathroom, as well as access to the outside, which includes an annex with a bathroom and walk-in closet.
This property is surrounded by two hectares of grounds on several levels, featuring an olive grove, a lemon house, some arable land, a splendid swimming pool with a sunbathing area and outdoor bar, perfect for cooling down during the hot summer days; the tower overlooking the pool, gives a romantic touch to the area and is now used as a guest room with private bathroom and panoramic terrace. There is also an outdoor kitchen with wood-burning oven, designed and tailor-made, inspired by one of the most renowned pizzerias in Ravello, with an adjacent outdoor dining area, as well as an additional kitchen, a winter garden with an adjoining two-storey annex with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fitness area with big windows from which to admire the garden.
Spread over the different levels of the garden, immersed in privacy among fragrant lemon trees, there are three outbuildings, perfect for welcoming guests in maximum comfort.
This prestigious property for sale near Ravello, in addition to being in a heavenly place, so much so that UNESCO declared the Amalfi Coast a World Heritage Site, is ideal for those seeking the beauty of unspoiled nature and absolute privacy.

Well, this is it. This is my dream Italian Villa. I've watched countless videos like this, but this one is my absolute favorite. I love how much history it has, but has been updated to have modern conveniences. The monastery architectural features. The one of a kind Valentino doors. The frescos, fireplaces, and original rock formations. The repurposed tiles, the views, the terraces. The orange and lemon trees. The gym and the pool. And did I mention I'm obsessed with the furnishing and decor... plush and modern, but also keeping the Italian history. And let's not get started on that blue room. Absolute perfection. The only thing that makes me sad is I'm just a day (or many) and a dollar (or millions) too late.

This is one of the prettiest properties amongst so many stunning others. The decor and architectural details reflect the history that is unique to Amalfi. Wonderful presentation as always too!

True, she was the American Tobacco heiress, and a billionaire in today's money. Interestingly, her home for many decades in Beverly Hills was "Falcon Lair", the estate previously owned by Rudolf Valentino, the silent screen idol. Apropos of this video, it really begs the question as to whether the harp and the beautiful doors shown in this excellent video came in some sort of package deal from someone who purchased the contents of the house, perhaps after Doris Duke's death. Doris Duke died at her Falcon's Lair home on October 28, 1993, at the age of 80. Almost 30 years ago now.

You certainly wouldn’t need a fitness studio, steps everywhere would be more than enough exercise for most ......beautiful villa and the Amalfi Coast is second to none, we visited Amalfi a number of years ago and it’s our ‘must go back to’ destination of all time! Great presentation 👏
