So apparently part of my beard decided to try to act a fool and secede from the rest of my beard in this video... Don't worry, its punishment for this treachery will be swift and cruel. ANYWAY, what do you think about this MIDI guitar? If you got one of these, how would you use it? (ALSO, how about that fancy intro sequence?? 😎)
Didn’t notice the beard issue but I’ll take your word for it, lol. Super polished intro and review. I’d probably use it in lieu of a keyboard as a controller in my DAW with some plug-ins, as you mentioned.
I have the Jammy too (bought with my own money!) and this is a very fair review. The firmware is improving rapidly to address some of the issues you’ve highlighted and the Jammy team are very responsive and supportive. Anyway to prove the point of its value as a production tool I recorded an entire album using just the Jammy guitar and an iPad Pro. Shameless plug ... music.apple.com/gb/album/reflection/1534893209 or open.spotify.com/album/4v1kp6rJjUrN5nVZGM7r1A?si=s9hI3xulQCWQ62dJJUfjGw
This was a great review! I appreciate your honesty. I think I'll wait for some of the kinks to get sorted out, especially the rhythm notation in Guitar Pro (probably the biggest reason I'd buy this). Love your albums and arrangements! Thanks for all you do!
And ya fretboard freedom will make u a pro guys plss watch it, watched it myself and now made my own music on guitar using pillars of arranging in that he teaches u how to make music urself for free damn he is soo cool
I was just thinking about wanting a guitar midi controller since I don't play piano well. I have song ideas, but a lot of them have multiple instruments, so virtual instruments could be useful. The price is a bit more than I would like to pay, so I don't know if I'll buy one. However, it's still a cool product.
@@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy Ok i asked because when i play steel with my nails i cant get a clear tone like i do in nylon it makes a scratching sound in steel strings
@@mysteriousstranger2695 I play a steel strung acoustic, mainly travis picking these days. I have never used a pick in the 15 years I’ve been playing. A lot of folk musicians don’t. The length of your nails, the shape you cut them, and how they grow (even and mainly flat, rounded and hooked, etc.) will change the sound you get. Personally, I use medium gauge of string and keep my nails on the shorter side (I definitely don’t like the sound or feel of having them longer than my fingertip skin). So experiment and see what is most comfortable and best sounding for you!
Id love to do a review for Jammy just to play that thing and test out my VST library with it ;) send them my way Nathan! I was just thinking about this as Ive been wanted to write some ambient music with weird scales and freqencies and struggle being creative on the piano. I hope they work the kinks out
Love your arrangements dude! When you're doing an arrangement you obviously learn it pretty fast :D but how long do you usually take to learn a new peace? Because i'm trying to figure out do most people have as hard time as me or am I just a bit retarded. 😅😂
There's nothing wrong with you! It can take weeks and even months to really get a piece under your fingers, especially if it's pushing your limits. Hang in there, and maybe balance it out with something easier to help keep you sane as well ;)
Why is every single one of these reviews on products high quality video of a talking head an 10% playing? I don't care about anything except what it sounds like. I will KNOW it from the playing, not your describing it.

Good review. Appreciate your honesty. How would you compare this to the Jamsik Studio MIDI guitar?
I am not sure i will have a use for it, but it can be useful in some situation ! Nice honest review !
6:20 That felt kinda jazzy jaja, can you do a collab with Lucas Brar on the main channel?
Nice playing though 😂

Really nice review also do you use nails for steel string guitar
thanks! i don't typically play steel, but i know some fingerstyle guitarists who primarily play steel also use nails.
@@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy Ok i asked because when i play steel with my nails i cant get a clear tone like i do in nylon it makes a scratching sound in steel strings
Yeah if I played steel I would probably keep them shorter

Are the strings real and tuned in keys ?
Do we need two sets of strings, one for the upper longer neck, another for the lower strumming section.
What are the best plugins for this wonderful guitar
Can you tremolo pick with this? Would be good for a one man black metal band on a budget
5:00 explains it's still not ready for prime time. All I needed to know.
What is the frame looking thing called
Can you change the tuning?

Someone explain to me how the Casio guitar I had during the 80s tracked 25 times better than this.
^ this guitar, I mean.
If serious about MIDI, Serum, Omnisphere, etc...then get a Jamstik Studio MIDI guitar... Trust me, the Jammy is a POS toy...
I want this guitar so bad right now plss giveaway?
But then I won't be able to play with it anymore 😰
