Li'l A & The Allnighters (USA) at the Jazztime in Hildesheim 2024

Little A and the Allnighters belong to the West Coast blues scene like icing on the cake, and now have hundreds of shows and festivals to their name.
The band's old-school approach to the blues is the brainchild of bandleader and frontman Alex Woodson. He keeps it simple, following the example of other masters of West Coast music such as William Clarke, Lester Butler, George “Harmonica” Smith and Rod Piazza.
In 1991, Alex, who was only 21 years old at the time, met Piazza. He invited him to perform with him and taught him the finer points of playing the harp.
Alex traveled the world with Rod for ten years, touring with the Mighty Flyers and learning how to play the West Coast harmonica from Piazza.
Alex has been the frontman of his own band, The Allnighters, for 17 years now. Together they carry the blues torch to a new generation of fans of the unique West Coast sound.

Alex reiste zehn Jahre lang mit Rod um die Welt, tourte mit den Mighty Flyers und lernte von Piazza, wie man die Mundharmonika der Westküste bläst.
Seit nunmehr 17 Jahren ist Alex der Frontmann seiner eigenen Formation, The Allnighters. Gemeinsam tragen sie Blues-Fackel zu einer neuen Generation von Anhängern des einmaligen Westküsten-Sounds.
