Actually a great episode, especially from unt*r I liked the heesung hype up video. Reminds me of that one time yiska was like “florida have the rookie of the year” Also appreciate yall getting into politics. As a Palestinian i think it’s important for EVERYONE to be engaged and informed
I am from Saudi Arabia and I attended EWC and I was very impressed. I was able to see the exciting matches, how the amazing professionally producing contents , and the players we saw in front of us and in toilets 😅. Frankly, it was an example that we can be proud of, and so happy to see your reaction to this wonderful event. I hope to see you all again next year in more exciting events. 🫰🏻
the last segment is so based. important to bring up human rights issues, but also important to contextualize them. i think a lot of the time, outside observers get the big picture right (e.g. gender inequality is an issue) but don’t understand how it actually manifests (e.g. assuming no gender diversity in audiences, when the inequality issue isn’t about visibility but about legislation), which distracts from meaningful discourse & progress.
The thing I like in double elim is that we're more likely to get an ACTUAL grandfinal, for example like 2022 Shock vs Fuel, that would not have happened if shock weren't allowed to go on a lower bracket run. Houston played decent against Dallas in some maps, but 2022 was undeniably the best grandfinals we got that a single elim bracket would've denied us. In this instance I didn't mind Toronto vs CR, but I honestly really enjoyed Falcons vs CR as well and it would've both been great to see if they're better or worse than Toronto and if they could've actually learned and given us an even closer grandfinals vs CR.
"oh half my team didnt shake hands, let me download the clip and cut off the portion where half my team actually shook hands, im such a victim in this situation.' Yes LGD should have been more locked in but saying that THEY are the clients is insane. Youbi went on his phone, downloaded the clip, edited the part where he LGD actually shook hands and refused to give any follow up whatsoever while simultaneously having his meltdown in dm's. Its incredibly irresponsible considering that LGD's social media reached out to stomp out any bad blood.
LGD was a bit shaken up and didnt do the optimal thing Youbi explicitly manipulated the narrative and then tilted off the face of the Earth yeah client is obvious here lol
@@Kronman590 yeah I love how fast I see people swap from lgd being rusty because they haven’t competed in a while to « these guys are veterans they should know better! » while youbi is being openly deceitful in his portrayal of lgd and somehow he’s justified in what he’s done.
osmosis heads rise up 💯- Osmosis is the movement of water particles from an area of high water concentration to an area of low water concentration through a partially permeable membrane 🔥🔥🔥
Virtus Pro is the European team to beat - just gone 11-0 in the EWCS Swiss stage getting ready for the Group stage and another banger against SSG in the finals
for the record, Mobile Legends isnt owned by Tencent. theyre owned by ByteDance which is another chinese company. Tencent does own another mobile MOBA other than Wild Rift which is called Honor Of Kings.
What Jake said at 3:05:30 is so true. I'm gold-diamond and has been there for years. Played for 2k hours and honestly I don't remember if I even had a single mirror match in ladder. Like it literally never happens. But in pro play it's fucking always the same shit mirror that nobody gives a fuck about and nobody truly understands. Seeing different comps every time is actually interesting. I didn't watch owl for 2 major reasons: shit observing and mirror matchups 110% of the time. And hero bans paired with no investment in the scene (which is a bad thing but ironically makes up for better matches to watch) fix this problem of predetermined mirrors with set rotations on every inch of the map. If owcs doesn't implement hero bans, at least for the playoffs, it's gonna be pretty disappointing to say the least.
I’m gonna be real. A lot of the viewer ship issues is the lack of promotion, specific from Blizazard or the overwatch teams which have washed their hands clean of the competitive esport side of the game.
This got some big holes in it. EWC invites teams and (probably) pay Blizzard and other Game devs to officially run a tourney with their IP. The responsibility is all on EWC to promote an EWC event. It seems more budget went to getting sponsors, game IP licenses, and a good event and not the advertising
@@williamq246 while I agree with everything you said, I still believe they could’ve promoted more on official channels. But the truth is blizzard no longer cares about that side of overwatch. Because they don’t even care about the little overwatch they still control in owcs which suffers the same issues.
Considering OW only peaked at 100k viewers (mostly thanks to xQc) and was one of the least watched events I could definitely see a world were it simply isn’t on the calendar next year when they have to make space for stuff like Valorant etc and maybe some new titles like Deadlock, Stormgate, 2XKO, Battle aces etc, even street fighter had higher viewership than OW.
Street Fighter is the trending esports in Japan right now, even potentially beating Valorant if it's done right so I think their viewership helped a lot
@@mrssmellspoint was OW one of the least watched games, even a BR like Apex had double the viewers and next year there will be need to found space for Valorant, Deadlock etc
I feel like Stalk3r might be burnt out from the Falcons team culture based on what he has been saying in his discord server. I know Proper is pretty toxic but is anyone else on that team specifically toxic? Obviously a little biased but I have talked with Stalk3r a bit and he seems pretty nice and not a huge ego.
The three way tie thing yep they shoulda known As for people not following, bossman I'm a football fan, if you've ever followed champions league or even the latest euros, in the group stages it's not just the wins, the goal difference is what decides if a team goes through. If it can be explained like that because goal difference equates to map difference then people will understand immediately. As for the other case where you have to look at one match then the other and so onz you have to explain it one by one
Mind you I'm just a casual when I tuned in and don't understand the tournament system for shit, so that was just what I understood while watching as to how they scored the points
I respect the participants getting the bag and having a good experience by all accounts, but I simply didn't feel like watching Saudi sportswashing esports, especially in a game with such a large number of queer people in the community.
At least some of the games there must have been because the publishers only accepted licencing for the big games if EWC also included ShitBoys Royale Mobile
I'd love to see you guys invite coach Lyte on to talk about 6v6. He made a pretty good video on the subject before Aaron's post so it would be interesting to hear you three discuss it with a fellow coach and high rank tank player.
With falcons losing to zeta this week in OWCS korea this team is definitely a massive disappointment for how stacked they are lmao. I can't stand proper so can't say I hate to see it 😂
I am not advocating for human rights in Saudi, but I can say from experience and with 100% certainty that women nowadays have essentially equal rights to men with a huge advantage for being backed and pushed by the government to hold big and critical roles!!
I played OW for 3 seasons and hit GM in all roles. Come to a real game like Halo or GoW and see if you can even get to gold lol. Bot's giving advice to other bots is great.
I hate it when someone is talking about shit in Saudi Arabia like they are from Saudi Arabia. Unter you are mistaken.. just talk aboout western world and leave us alone. We are free and happy and as a gaming girl i'm living my life...
Only 3 hours and 45 minutes? Cmon guys, let's get it to atleast 6hours.
Jake’s expensive
Sisters wedding: 👕
Banning Illari from Admiral: 👔

Unter in that entire section was popping off so hard 🗣🗣🗣
unter was so unbelievably right during the saudi segment and it's really refreshing to see
100%, the man had the best takes I’ve ever heard on the subject and articulated my feelings exactly.
So based
CommanderX in the thumbnail is me whenever a new episode of my favourite quiz show “uncoachable” comes out
It's unbelievable that these chumps were all at ewc but didnt do it live.
Minkvägen 43
legitimate unter masterclass client of the week segment, glad to see the MBA was worth it
I think was the best uncoachable episode ever. From start to finish I really enjoyed, especially the nuance of the client of the week section. Also 💯

Maybe we could hurry it up next time. 3 hours of build up for the quiz seems like a bit much.
Thank you for sharing about the team dynamics and culture, I love listening about that a lot!

Another banger honestly could do with an hour more of this. 💯
For some odd reason after watching that end section of the podcast I’m inclined to believe Jake may be going back to EWC next year

Making an OW esports analogy using drugs was NOT on the bingo card 😂
Wouldn’t catch the (original) Korean uncoachables with this level of behaviour
I was at the Philly February 2020 homestand. They beat Mayhem and the crowd was the best part hands down.
For the stuff on Hanbin you expect him to do 1v5 in 2022 grand finals and he just doesn’t do it anymore
Doesn’t have his bsf sp9
1:28:48 Poor Chiyo
Osmosis head 💯💯
its insane how hard Jake is trying to be like "both sides are wrong" centrist
Any developments getting wizardhyeong?
