Poatan said "ready to kill" when answering the judge who asked if he was ready. He didn't say "I'm going to kill you", it's not as offensive and cruel as it sounds, it's more of a way to assert yourself in combat. Incredible fight, both fighters have incredible stories and it was a pleasure to see both in the ring.

What? He's handling the loss terribly!
      'I wasn't rocked!'
      'It was an early stoppage!'
'If I only had 5 more secs in round 1!'
'He hit my perennial nerve and I was compromised, if I hit his first I would have won!'
He has literally nothing but excuses and delusions. How is that a good example of handling a loss? He hasn't even accepted that he lost. He was clearly rocked, even Dave called him out in this vid. The perennial nerve doesn't work like that. The ref saved his brain, and probably a year or two of his life.

@@micahjohnson138 Because he was more rocked vs Alex lol. Go and rewatch the finish. Marc is screaming at Izzy to improve position for ages, and what happens? Izzy gets dropped! When he gets back up he eats more damage, tries to clinch Alex like 3x and can't (even reaches the wrong way at one point), eats more damage, slumps on the cage looking down with his hands at his sides (not intelligent defence), and eats a right hand clean on the chin before Marc steps in as Pereira loads up a massive left uppercut to Izzy's badly exposed head. That uppercut was going to KO Izzy. He should thank Marc every day for the rest of his life.
Also Alex's power is levels above Gastelum lol, and Gastelum went for a fucking takedown. The situations aren't even close to comparable. There is no chance Izzy survives 3mins vs Alex that badly compromised. Izzy said post fight he was waiting to take Alex down 'again' and beat him up, but Izzy was unable to take Alex down once the whole fight. Izzy reversed a trip of Alex, which isn't a takedown - it's a reversal. Izzy was just going to keep eating damage until he was slept. His fans should be happy he wasn't stretchered off with an oygen mask again.

You were the better fighter overall, the better Dagestani, the better composed ..
As a Doctor, I don't think people fully understand the extent of peroneal nerve damage and what it could do to your stance & fighting.
You won't be able to lift the foot comfortably (if even lift it at all), toes dragging while walking, weakness in ankle and foot .. and a lot more.
I'm not a fighter but damage like that will damage your balance, ability to do foot work, distribution of weight, stance switching and many subtle details that compose the art of striking and even wrestling, he wouldn't be able to take you down if that leg was clear, and you proved to be the better wrestler with a damaged leg (how crazy is that) ..
I don't think people understand how well prepared you were, and how many levels you could've taken this to.
And watching you on Flagrant made respect you as a person even more that I already do.
You WILL come back stronger, and I think you know exactly what to do next time, the championship will return to its rightful owner.
    All the best Bro.

Also if you have ever had a fight and had your bell rung you know you are coherent but you are compromised. Not the same as being out on your feet. He even describes how Alex got him in that predicament by taking his movement away. He didn't call it cheap, he didn't deny Alex caused it. He gave a reason for how he got stuck against the cage. Are you mad Izzy isn't saying he got his ass beat. That's cause he didn't. Izzy and Alex had a great fight which Izzy won a lot of the exchanges. It showed how down to earth he is. All this while living out his imaginative dreams that he turns into reality. It's only a very special person that can do all this. So just a massive thank you to Izzy and David Blackamoto 🖤 for giving us this amazing content (the coolest brothers)

I would rather see an "early stoppage"( which wasn't early in my opinion. ) than to see Pereira absolute decimate him and lay him out on the mat. I probably wouldn't wanna see a rematch if that happened. The stoppage felt great and makes me think that another fight is indeed possible

I would be TERRIFIED of fighting stone hands. He is a full weight class heavier than Izzy in the cage. He’s massive. And he’s knocked him out. Just the fact that Izzy stepped in the cage against him shows he’s got courage for days. Also, Izzy performed well. Warrior.
