Hair flailing, eyes popping and bloodshot and body vigorously moving/twirling and sometimes tongue lolling. When they 'came to' after such a possession, they'd look dazed and lost, seemingly unaware of what had just happened to them. Alia is carrying that look at the end of her dance. I have seen this happen in person several times when I was a child, at garba nights in Mombasa, Kenya. I'm talking 40+ years ago. Those women were not faking it, they WERE in a trance.

Navratri celebrates good over evil as Goddess Durga kills Mahisasur.. The local lore is that Goddess Durga comes to dance on earth during those nine nights thereby possessing a women.. So the dance is almost like a worship...So at the end half of this song, the director (our very own gujarat born maestro) SLB has depicted Alia to be possessed which has created a very strong screen moment as it describes a goddess dancing with all her might.. And FYI, this does happen sometimes in reality, be it a supernatural thing or some mind-play thing, no one knows...
I feel like another interpretation for her change in demeanour at the end was her becoming immersed in emotions over the fact that the last time she played garba and celebrated Navratri was before she was forced to become a prostitute, and the fact that before the festival she finally called back home, so I feel like it’s also as if those buried emotions are resurfacing. he is a good director, but he needs better script writers. Almost all his movies end in either male or female lead dying or separating. I really hope this movie brings out something different. Initially it seemed to me like this might be the most underwhelming of the showpiece song/dance feature from SLB ever compared to Ghoomar, Deewani Mastani, Nagada sang dhol etc. But this was so much more rooted in reality and grounded, and then when Alia's solo moment starts - goosebumps! She is fire in this!!! the song also grows on you after a couple of times listening to it. Even more excited now for the movie!

Karan CONSTANTLY pushes her to be in movies and adverts and OTHER directors' movies. karan is set out to prove to all that HIS nepo kids are THE BEST. Alia is a wonderful actress. But she has been miscast before. Her baby face worked against her in Dear Zindagi. I know Hollywood is in love with colorblind casting and the concept that every actress fits every role. But Deepika or Sonakshi, Kriti would fit the character in her early and later years equally. Not denying Alia's talent. But she looks way younger than her actual age to fit every character. And since dancing isn't her forte it would have been better to give her easy steps and focused on her expressions more so as not to invite unfair comparisons with Deepika and Aishwarya's Garba dances from earlier SLB films.

I think a lot of people dislike how much Alia is pushed. Karan CONSTANTLY pushes her to be in movies and adverts and OTHER directors' movies. karan is set out to prove to all that HIS nepo kids are THE BEST. Alia works hard but a lot of people feel the roles she gets COULD be given to better actors , outsider actors, Southern actors that do not get the PR , emphasis and praise over any tiny , slightly okay role- the way Alia gets. I think her only true quality and enjoyable role was, for me, Udta Punjab. yes, there she aced it. the rest? Combo of music and writing and a lot of ensemble cast support... IMO, of course.

You guys are literally Alia bhatt fanboys (it is true,even if it aggravates you) because just because people who btw are usually influenced to say alias name on kwk does not mean it’s an objective fact she’s the best actress in the business. It’s crazy how you guys think you know more about the real life character alia is playing and that she can do it justice,you guys don’t even know jackshit about the real Gangubai,how can you say that so confidently? Don’t you think the Indian audience does and that’s why they’re recommending people like PC,or vidya or tabu? They know these actors and their capabilities a hell of a lot longer than you and they know the real life story. I swear if it was something western that you guys felt was miscast and it was based on a real persons life,you’d have a field day shitting on it…it’s just constant hypocrisy from this channel..please recognise it and get back to the old OSR.
Alia is a wonderful actress. But she has been miscast before. Her baby face worked against her in Dear Zindagi. I know Hollywood is in love with colorblind casting and the concept that every actress fits every role. But Deepika or Sonakshi, Kriti would fit the character in her early and later years equally. Not denying Alia's talent. But she looks way younger than her actual age to fit every character. And since dancing isn't her forte it would have been better to give her easy steps and focused on her expressions more so as not to invite unfair comparisons with Deepika and Aishwarya's Garba dances from earlier SLB films.
Firstly, Alia is a damn better actress than PC and Vidya. Tabu? Then why not Shabana Azmi? She would have been best 🤣🤣🤣.
Secondly, it’s obvious that you don’t know the real life character either. She was a small diminutive woman and no mature face, old women can play her but the very talented and youthful soft beauty Alia Bhatt.
@@tarasharma2389 Dancing was not Deepika’s forte either and Deepika did not have the right looks but SLB made her get plastic surgeries and falsely whiten her skin, lol......The only reason Deepika got those roles is because they were rejected by someone with the talent and right beauty, Deepika was fourth choice only.....
Aishwarya’s a trained dancer but she too got a ton of surgeries, fake blue eyes and false whitened skin.....The only reason she got HDDCS is because the other actress rejected it for school and Aish cunningly used Salman to influence his best friend SLB to not hire that actress but let him keep using her instead........ Alia however was the first choice for this role because she’s the TOTAL package, she already has all the right looks to play a 16-30 Yr old diminutive feminine woman, Deepika’s dancing was no better than Alia’s and Alia is more talented, have more beauty and gravitas and youthful looks than any Deepika, Sonakshi or Kriti. She’s perfect! Jealousy is not good for you!
