    1. 0:35 {How to have More Self Control} You mentioned in a past session the issue of “becoming slaves to our desires” instead of "just doing the right things we don't feel like doing." Whether it’s reading Scripture, doing the housework, eating the right things, etc., I struggle with this daily, and my whole house is a disaster. Please, can you offer some advice on how to target this issue?
    2. 12:27 {Is Marriage Required after Kissing or Sex?} Some say that because my ex-boyfriend and I French kissed, we must marry. We broke up 2 years ago and he didn't answer when I asked to talk. I want to be free to marry someone else, but I'm scared to sin against God. Help. How can I know I am free?
    3. 16:34 {Why Isn’t the Greek OT More Authoritative?} Why isn’t the Greek Old Testament more authoritative? Its manuscripts are older and are referenced in the New Testament. E.g., Jesus mentions Greek version of Isaiah 61 with “blind” in Luke 4: 18.
    4. 20:54 {Is it Unfair that Certain People Receive God’s Forgiveness?} People in my life push against "saved by faith alone" asking “How can people like Hitler accept Jesus right before death and then go and sit in Heaven next to Mother Teresa? How do I address that?
    5. 26:47 {About the Elect & The Tribulation} Can you be saved but not elect? I’m confused by Mark 13: 20. Will the elect be taken by the rapture, or will they suffer during the Tribulation?
    6. 30:35 {Is Self-Forgiveness Biblical?} Any thoughts on self-forgiveness? Do you think it’s biblical?
    7. 34:33 {Is Contraception Sinful?} Why do people say there is no biblical basis against contraception when God kills Onan for it (Genesis 38: 8-10)? And the punishment for that is not death according to Deuteronomy 25:7-10.
    8. 41:07 {About Parachurch Ministries / CRU} What do you think of parachurch organizations like Cru? They don't seem biblical to me because they assume the duties of a local church. I would love to know what you think.
    9. 43:35 {About Conviction of Sin} How can someone know if they are truly feeling convicted about something? I am trying to get right with God, and I sometimes feel everything I do is damning. I don’t want to sugarcoat things - I want to be realistic.
    10. 48:41 {Will we See the Father & Jesus in Heaven?} Jesus said that no one has seen the Father except Himself. Do you think when we get to Heaven, that we will be able to see the Father, as well as Jesus?
    11. 50:48 {Did Moses Write in Hebrew or Hieroglyphics?} I am curious about the theory that Moses wrote in Egyptian Hieroglyphics, not Hebrew. Arguing for an oral tradition, not a written text. I had never heard this before, and I'm a little baffled.
    12. 52:47 {Scriptural Support for Continuationism} Is there Scripture that supports being a Continuationist? I am a "soft-charismatic," but personal experience is not convincing to a Cessasionist claiming I'm being unbiblical, or even heretical.
    13. 56:30 {Could a Gentile Become a Jew in the OT?} In the Old Testament, God worked with the Israelites. Could a Gentile become a Jew in the Old Testament and be saved?
    14. 59:52 {Can Christians Marry Non-Christians?} Would you recommend marrying someone of a different religion? Say, Seventh Day Adventist, for example?
    15. 1:02:51 {About the Fall of Satan} How could the devil fall, being perfect (moral excellence), knowing the full comprehension of God? How could he even think evil thoughts?
    16. 1:05:14 {About the “Lying Spirit” in 1 Kings} How do you interpret the lying spirit in 1 kings 22?
    17. 1:12:26 {Theism vs. Biblical Christianity} I’m a theist, but I am not a Christian. What are some attributes of God? And how does Jesus exhibit them in specific situations in the Bible? Could you please pray that God gives me confirmation in my mind of the deity of Jesus? Or at least whether or not Jesus rose from the dead. No matter the evidence, I can’t tell. I want the truth.
    18. 1:16:10 {About the International Christian Church} My wife and I recently left the International Christian Church (ICC). Do you know about this group, and what advice would you give us, moving forward?
    19. 1:18:59 {How to Honor our Leaders} How do we actually honor leaders that we find personally dishonorable? Some find President Trump dishonorable, and some find President Biden dishonorable. What does honoring them actually entail?
    20. 1:24:58 {Why Doesn’t God Reveal Himself to More People?} If Jesus can show Himself to Paul, why can’t He show Himself to everyone?

Mike, I love your channel. You really do help us think biblically.
I wish I could ask you this question:
Why do you call yourself "Pastor Mike"? There is no biblical precedent for using ministry gifts as titles. We never read anyone addressed as "Prophet Jeremiah" or "Pastor Peter" or "Apostle Paul" or "Evangelist Philip" in the Bible. Doesn't the use of titles lead to a clergy-laity mindset such as the Catholics have, which they got from Gnosticism?

Thank you brother Mike Winger for uploading this video dude and your work in the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏❤️. People who use The Scriptures to justify such treatment of others especially their own children and spouses are despicable in my opinion. I really appreciate your Christ centered and Scripturally accurate content . This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

I used to teach sixth grade English, and while I was restricted in my ability to share my faith with my students, there is no law against students sharing their faith in class. One of my favorite moments was when my student with dyslexia opened his Bible in the library and the rest of the class came and sat around to hear him read it aloud. He stumbled through it with determination and boldness, and every student in the class listened with absolute patience. I was so impressed by him that day.

Some time ago I was thinking how born again christians, when they‘re being quoted, it ideally should read - let‘s take Mike Winger as an example; if he‘d be quoted after the quote it would say: Mike winger, Spirit-lead.. or.. Mike Winger through the Holy Spirit.. or… Mike Winger, Holy Spirit (co-authorship in a sense).. I haven‘t found the ideal one yet but I think the idea has some merit. Only quoting the human but not God who lives in said human doesn‘t seem right 😄

@@miriammura9549 The Holy Spirit *is* God. He's provides the fruits (to true Christians) from an indwelling position.
When a Christian is ministering, the idea is to "decrease as God increases" within them, so as to talk right in the Lord.
I believe that Pastor Mike is correct in admitting to the imperfection in humankind--including himself.
I don't know about measuring percentages of vessel-ship either. I know that many have found blessing here, as God and the Scriptures are center-stage and the Spirit of God certainly runs all up down and through this ministry.

Hi Mike, thank you for pushing through your own laziness. I'm so glad you did, and do, because your content has brought so much hope and clarity into my life. Your answer to question #1 left me in tears. My husband and I both struggle with laziness, but we also have chronic health issues that affect our daily lives. We never have energy. Basic tasks can be a struggle each day. As you can imagine this doesn't pair well with laziness. I often wonder how to make sense of these two things. But I knew God was speaking to me tonight when you were finishing up answering the question, you quoted Matthew 6:33-34. This verse has meant so much to my husband and I ever since we were saved. Through your encouragement I knew God was telling me "I love you, let's take it from here!"...no matter big the bucket and how small the drops, we can rest assured God won't give up on us. Commenting to first question..made me think if that person may be struggling with ADHD. In ADHD the executive function is compromised substantially and their motivation is very low to complete or begin tasks. That’s why they wait until the urgency of the last minute to finally get to things. There are so many resources to help those people and would encourage that person to consider a diagnosis. That may explain their issues and help them understand why the struggle is so paramount verses a neurotypical person who can just do those things you recommended and be good. Like for a person with ADHD, they need lots of support and tools such as ones given to overcome these challenges including even possibly medication.

I have ADD (no H in my case) to a pretty severe degree, as well as an extreme case of vehophobia (fear of operating motor vehicles) and social anxiety. I focus on prayerfully overcoming what God does give me the ability to overcome, and try not to "beat myself up" for not being able to do things nearly as well as a "normal" person can, though that is a major struggle. Thankfully, God has blessed me with an overnight security job that allows me to support myself financially, drive only at night when traffic is minimal, and only interact with a handful of people most of the time. That allows me to be financially self-supporting, at least, rather than being a burden on others. The trouble with "resources" is that they cost money I don't have, and require processes I literally fear more than death. Also, I was tried on medications when I was younger, and none of them had any effect on me.

Q14: Marriage of a Christian to a non-Christian is prohibited ("do not be unequally yoked", and the bulk of 1 Cor 7), but I wouldn't consider the SDA to necessarily be non-Christians. But even among Christian denominations, I'd think it highly unwise (perhaps not outright prohibited) to marry one of a sufficiently different tradition that you couldn't worship together. And even in a closer case--if you're Baptist and she's Presbyterian, and you have kids, you're going to come to terms on how and when to baptize them. It's better if you reach agreement on this before you're really committed to each other than after--and if you can't, it's better that you know *that* sooner than later.

  • @danbrown586
    @danbrown586 2 роки тому +8

Q2: There's no scripture that directly addresses French kissing. Certainly at some point (and at some point short of actual intercourse), sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin. But that doesn't obligate the couple to marry--subsequent marriage doesn't retroactively make the activity not-sin, the activity doesn't constitute marriage, nor does it obligate you to marry. If you believe you sinned in doing this, repent of your sin, but you aren't married to your ex-boyfriend, nor are you obligated to marry him.

Just wanna point to something I learned recently in a Tommy Nelson sermon, Song of Solomon 4:11a says "Your lips drip nectar, my bride; honey and milk are under your tongue", which sure sounds like a French kiss to me! So perhaps there is precedent for that to be reserved for marriage, though of course that would be more of a wisdom than a sin thing.
And of course I agree wholeheartedly that there's no compulsion for you to marry someone you crossed boundaries with; Jesus saves, girl. "Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more." Isaiah 54:4

    • @danbrown586
      @danbrown586 2 роки тому

@@Sharpman76 That's an interesting point on Song of Solomon 4:11--I don't think we could really take from that a strict limitation of that activity to marriage, but it might lead that way.
But I was largely intending to leave open the question of where the line is. I'd say it's pretty clearly somewhere past holding hands, and certainly if you're getting naked together you've gone too far. But there really are two, or maybe even three, lines to consider. There's some point at which the activity is objectively sin--where that point is can be hard to determine, but (again) if you're getting naked together (ignoring bizarre edge cases), you've passed it. This line is sin regardless of what your conscience may tell you. The second line is the line of your conscience--for example, if you believe it's wrong for an unmarried couple to French kiss, and you do it anyway while unmarried, it is sin for you. This is the principle of Romans 14:23. Whichever of these is the more restrictive controls. The third line is the line of wisdom. It may not be sinful, exactly, for a dating couple to spend lots of time alone in a private setting, but it probably isn't a very good idea.

First, Christianity (which came from Judaism) existed well before the December 25 date was used for the celebration of Jesus birth. And even then, that’s not the date of the resurrection of Christ, which was during Passover time.
Second, most of the other similarities you draw have no significance. Walking on water = the sun’s reflection? Coming on the clouds = sun rays? I could probably prove your life was a copy from sun worship with this level of comparison.

As for forgiving yourself, there is another element to this. My wife had been party to some very bad things before she knew Christ, and some of those things left lifelong scars on her children. There came a point when she approached a Pastor we trusted about this, and he said what was in my mind, that she had to forgive herself. She started off saying that she knew that she was forgiven because of the Cross, but what she didn't understand was that she was still holding her sins against herself, regardless of the forgiveness of Jesus. The fact was, she felt so guilty about hurting her children, that she wasn't able to rest in God's forgiveness until she realized that she needed to have compassion for her former self, and accept that she was forgiven, receive that forgiveness, AND AGREE WITH THAT FORGIVENESS. So yes, we can condemn ourselves for what we have been already forgiven for, and we need to accept that we are forgiven, and forgive ourselves - not in arrogance, but in humility, accepting God's judgment that we have His mercy.

    • @levifox2818
      @levifox2818 2 роки тому +5

I think Pastor Mike’s point was that “forgive yourself” isn’t the best phrase for it. Accepting the graciousness of forgiveness is more accurate. In concept I agree almost entirely, but the wording can lead to strange ideas. Many people legitimately believe we are ultimately accountable to ourselves.

    • @ApostleOfGod8862
      @ApostleOfGod8862 2 роки тому +4

@@levifox2818 : Yes, I see Pastor Mike's point (and yours), and I agree. The element that I am referring to is more like condemnation than anything, where you feel AGAINST yourself, that you are bad, or you feel terrible about what you've done, and you hold it against yourself, or judge yourself as evil, even though you have repented. This is separate from what Mike was referring to, and is something I myself have had to work through.
It took the Lord about a solid month of constantly telling me that His mercy endures forever, and that I am forgiven, before I could accept that I was forgiven. Truth be told, there's a part of my heart still struggling with forgiving myself, even though I know I am forgiven by God, and He has reminded me that He is the Judge, and not myself. This makes not forgiving myself an act of pride, because humility is agreeing with God. The thing is, the consequences of my sin have created such sadness in me, that even over a year later I am still struggling inside. Without God's forgiveness, I would have zero chance of forgiving myself and getting past it. As it stands, I have good days and bad days, and I continually work to agree with God in my heart, and not stumble into self-condemnation anymore. This is what I am referring to, and it is a very different thing than what Mike referred to. I don't know how many people struggle with forgiveness, but I can understand now why they do. Sometimes we can disappoint ourself so utterly, that it becomes very difficult not to hold it against ourself.

Unfortunately Christians tends to do this weird thing where they will only acknowledge one of the several meanings of a word or expression and then condemn people for using those other meanings.
Yes only the forgiveness of God can erase a sin and yet in scriptures we are told for forgive others. So clearly the bible acknowledges both the type of forgiveness that erase sins and the type of forgiveness connected to letting go of resentment and other negative feelings.
And that forgiveness that we re supposed to extend to others we also have to extend it to ourself when we are the one those negative feelings are directed toward.
This is not being self-centered, this is not being prideful, this is accepting the healing for our souls that comes from God.

I also think there are times when we need to have compassion on ourselves but don’t need forgiveness from Christ because our actions weren’t necessarily sinful, just emotionally painful. For instance I had an accident at work while I was pregnant that led to complications, everything turned out okay but we both almost died. Had my son died I would have struggled with a lot of guilt, but that guilt wasn’t due to any sin. What happened was an accident, no one was at fault. A mother might struggle to forgive herself for giving a child up for adoption even though it was the best option at the time. Many people feel guilt over the decision to euthanize a pet or to discontinue life support from a loved one. This isn’t because the choice was sinful or wrong but just because it was emotionally painful. So I think it’s a little more complicated than Mike had time to address.

I believe that we should look at the heart of Onan and the heart of married couples who want no children (deeming themselves "child free"). It seems that Onan's motivation was rejecting the authority of his father and selfishness for his own gain. It seems to me that married couples who actively work to ensure zero children are rebelling against the natural creation of their Father God and are usually acting out of selfishness in not wanting the extra work or "inconvenience" of children.
I think it is a different situation than couples who already have children and obviously for women whose lives would be endangered by pregnancy. I think Catholics are closer to God's intention that all married couples should be open to God blessing them with children. Whether or not he does is up to him not us. We just follow God in purity whether it is celibacy in singleness or intimacy with our spouse in marriage.
Separating the sex act from procreation has created many of the horrible social problems we see today with promiscuity, unwed pregnancy, abortion, and fatherlessness which leads to poverty, gangs, drug use, and prison.
    Thanks again!

@@Gamefan86 Christianity is based upon the historical person named Yeshua of Nazareth called the Messiah who lived, died, and- according to much historical evidence- also rose again. Christianity is an outgrowth and fulfillment of the true Jewish religion which goes back approximately 1500-2000 years before the birth of Jesus, and Christians accept the Jewish Scriptures as authoritative as well as the New Testament which details Jesus' life, how the Jewish Scriptures were fulfilled, and how we are to live our lives. Through Jesus, the worship of the one true God has spread all over the world just as the Scriptures prophesied. God bless.

I cannot say that I know for sure Mother Theresa was saved, and doing good deeds apart from salvation doesn't guarantee anyone a place in heaven. @@Gamefan86 You do realize it's possible to make any real life event into a myth. You can find symbolic reason for why your real life neighbor wore a red shirt on a random Monday in 2022.
You could say that red symbolized the "biological males' " repressed anger, that, as a male existing in 2022 the general population looks down upon "him" (nonspecific "him" as there was no real person according to this myth) as an oppressor. The first letter of this particular day of the week happens to be "M." M is relevant for three reasons
      1) He is "M" MALE
2)There are masses who believe "his" (still not specific "his") helpfulness at work is mansplaining "M" MISOGYNY
      3) because he is "M" MARGINALIZED while being accused of marginalizing others simply because he is a, streight, white, male.
But in all actuality while those connections could be strikingly similar in correlation to his life, and, the time in which he lives. He is a real man, who happened to be wearing a red shirt, on a Monday. Which happened while society was undergoing changes to world view, and, thought process. All of these things are facts that exist along side one another, in separate although similar spheres.
I am a female btw. I do see the correlation. But correlation does not equal causation. Just because there are similarities or (mental connections which we can make) does not mean that this Pagan Myth spawned the story of Jesus.
I'm more than happy to talk about these things, but, I don't expect that either of us will change the others minds.
I see that we may have a common ground. It seems you study or listen to opposing views. I do as well. I listen to Bart Ehrman an agnostic (or on the fence atheist) historian. I like to honestly listen and pour over the claims he makes.
What brings you here, under Mike Wingers Video?
