This is why I don’t watch DWTS anymore. They hated on Mya because she can dance but she’s not a ballroom dancer at all. Training in 1 style doesn’t automatically translate to other styles. There were other trained dancers like Nicole Scherzinger or Normani who still did well. Nicole even won.

Samurai Pizza CAT WRONG complexion. If She Would've Done Everything The Exact Same, had white skin, and a different name, she would've been sure to win and have endorsement deals out the ass, plus an offer to be a judge or choreographer on future shows.

Donny Osmond won the "competition" when he was announced as a contestant--it's called decades of name recognition and a life with no scandals attached to it. He was a star before Maya was born, for cryin' out loud. And many viewers think people with previous dance training and experience shouldn't even be on the show--you're kinda skirting that issue, aren't you? Changing the subject slightly, I think Dmitri's choreography was insane this season, right up there with the best the show has ever seen.
Well their freestyle routine doomed them, from a season that was so awesome! Bottom line is Mya wasn't the first person on the show who had dance experience. Others stars like her were on the show before and after her with the same experience. And although Donnie didn't have dance experience, he was an entertainer, so he knew how to perform on stage also. People forget that ballroom dance routines have to be learned as well. Even with experience, which is helpful, it doesn't mean you'll be good at every routine.
That damn freestyle blew it for them. Dmitry should have listen to her about her idea but I can see why he was being paranoid. Len had been so hard on them for several weeks over petty shit and it probably made dmitry scared of taking any risks where it counted the most.
Mya was amazing, as was her partner, but that performance was brutal to sit through because the band, specifically the lead vocalist, sounded HORRIBLE. It was such a distraction!
