STAY FOR THE END! there is an excellent interview with Hugh Fraser. It’s an eye opener. 350 hrs of narrating Agatha Christie books with sometimes 50 character voices to learn in some books. It’s mesmerizing how much he’s done. Hugh also talks about his interpretations of Hastings in the tv shows. Highly recommend.
I've always wondered about the process a narrator goes through when creating these fantastic works for us. Thank you for including the interview with my favorite Captain Hastings. Hugh Fraser's characterizations are so fantastic and seamless. Perfect.
Bravo Mr. Fraser! As a southerner myself, I appreciate his southern accent. One of the best I've heard from an actor! Even most American actors lay it on too thick ,but Fraser did it just right! Thank you for sharing this story❤ ❤❤
and he does an American accent better than the reverse; totally believable- sadly American actors don’t do English accents well! I wonder if Hugh sees our comments here?
What a wonderful upload! The interview in the end is very interesting, too. Hugh Fraser explaining that he has a list with all the (about 50!) characters, with notes as to how they sound in code - wow! Of course he has, of course he does put in a lot of work, still, it's so much more palpable when one imagines a whole wall full of character hints! I also happily share Mr. Fraser's favorite Christie-character! And yes: her descriptions of people are what makes Agatha Christie's work so immensely enjoyable and without a boring page. I habe been so sick and lonely lately, but I have been swimming through all these worlds in these audiobooks, and have not died yet! 🎉
I listened to all Tommy-Tuppence tales twice, and feel a bit of grief (yes🥺😢) at no more. This team differs from Holmes-Watson or Poirot-Hastings in that each serves at times as the other's sidekick.

Hugh Fraser could read the telephone directory and it would be brilliant. Sadly this is not one of the author’s greatest books. No suspense. No twists.
Don't miss the short interview with Hugh Fraser after the book finishes. Unfortunately, it's cut off before the end! I don't know how much is missing, but if anyone knows where the full interview can be heard, please let us know.
4:10:25 etc. - I wonder why Christie said repeatedly that Tommy had "no imagination"? He certainly shows it here about the disguised golfer, and in numerous other T&T stories as well.
Always enjoy Tommy and Tuppence and their upbeat humorous characters. But the highlight of this audiobook was the interview with the talented Hugh Fraser as an actor and narrator! So far have not heard anyone to come close to his unique talent. Sorry the interview with him was cut short at the end of this audiobook.
Re Girl Boss in media🙄 as of Jan 2025: Christie's Tuppence is clever, brave, creative (see 'N or M', intro to Mrs. Blenkinsop) with full self-agency as Tommy's equal. NO raging feminism! She just IS.

Love the voice of Hugh thx it makes long sleepless nights short.....
It’s High Fraser. Best voice on audios. I’d listen to the history of parakeets is Mr. Fraser narrated. What skill!
He is the best.
I listened to the History of Parakeets and found Sir Richard Attenborughs commentary quite satisfactory. 👌
🤣🤣🤣me too lol
I think he should be our National Narrator definitely needs knighthood for services to sanity 'In Our Times'
Well, in the U.S. they have Morgan Freeman to narrate life so we will just appropriate Hugh Fraser for that role.😹😹😹
Hugh is amazing , the best above the rest.....Agatha a legend. Thank for loading this amazing stories, I just love it.

Hugh Fraser is the BEST. Such a great actor and a voice like honey.
The most under rated British actor, better than any other!

Tommy and Tuppence have a great dynamic.
Agatha Christie was a master of creating funny, sympathetic. and intelligent female characters.
THANK you ever so much for this wonderful upload!!!
Such a cute couple!! Lol Happy to find this. Love Hugh Fraser’s readings of Agatha Christie. Thank you for making this available.

If the ‘oaths ‘ were in a foreign language, how did he know they were oaths/swear words?
Hmm, so Tommy reads Agatha Christie books, does he? (at around 35:00 he references "ze leetle gray cells" in a book he's reading)
Sir could you teach Agatha christie and all the classics in full length with text on screen
There is subtitles available you can just expand them in setting they are very accurate
