Trip to Åland🇦🇽#1 : Ferry Trip with Viking Line (Turku - Mariehamn) //FINLAND VLOG

I visited Åland Islands for the weekend. It is located between Finland and Sweden and they are a part of Finland, but they have autonomy. The official language is Swedish and you can find unique local culture and traditions there as well as tasty dishes.
I divided my Åland Vlog into three parts and this video is a first episode, where I took a ferry from the mainland of Finland to the capital city of Åland, Mariehamn, and hung around the city center and the beautiful coastal areas.
✍️Who am I?
I'm Daiki, originally from Kyoto, Japan. I moved to Finland for my masters degree in business in 2016 and now I'm working in the capital area, Helsinki. Through this channel I'm hoping to share my experience in Finland and sometimes abroad, including culture, career, lifestyle and travel diaries.

We do midsummer poles in Finland also in the Swedish speaking areas, that are in the south (your guide said there are no in Finland or at least not in the south).

Another nice one, thanks Daiki! I don't know if you mention it in the follow up videos but a Japanese diplomat named Nitobe Inazō was instrumental in Finland gaining sovereignty over Åland Islands in 1921.
