Just a note - you don’t have to set the VTP domains on all client switches. They will auto detect the VTP domain once you connect to a neighboring VTP server.

In order for a VTP client switch to participate in a VTP domain, it must be configured with the same VTP domain name as the VTP server switch.
When a VTP client switch is connected to a VTP server switch, it will automatically learn the VTP domain name from the VTP advertisements sent by the server. However, if the client switch is not configured with the correct domain name, it will not participate in the VTP domain.
Therefore, to ensure that the VTP client switch is properly configured and able to participate in the VTP domain, you should manually configure it with the correct VTP domain name that matches the VTP server switch. This can be done using the "vtp domain" command on the client switch.

HI Dan Would you mind if you tell me what is your CISCO packet tracer version?

Hi Dan could you or anyone else reading this tell me what is the difference between using 'switchport trunk allow' and 'switchport trunk allowed'; because on switch 2 you used 'allow' and on switch 3 you used 'allowed' for the configuration of the Trunk. What I would like to know is does it matter which one I use or can I like you use either one of them for configuring the Trunk Line.
Also I have tried many of your UA-cam video topology's in packet tracer and they all work as you have described, but when I try the above video for VTP configuration, it only works as far as switch 1; switch 3 is unable to learn from the vtp server on switch 0. The VTP Transparent switch is not passing on the information of the vlans to the client switch 3.
Can you please help me, or if there is anyone else out there reading this I would be grateful for any input. Thank you.

I did the same lab presented and my switch in transparent mode was able to pass the vlan information on to the other switches, I suggest you to check if you did not forget to configure the trunk port on your switch which is working in transparent mode, I believe that would be the only reason it wouldn't pass the vlan information on.

Thanks very much, Dan! BTW, what application are you using for emulating a Cisco environment including the Cisco CLI?

i really appreciate your videos. They are really informative. Could it be possible that the Host names could be configured on the devices. Sometimes i am unable to follow which device you are configuring. It could help.
