My supplement plan went up 11% this past year! And they did not give me enough warning they were going to do this so that I could switch in time. Fortunately, I am in California and can switch the beginning of next year. After this happened, I started reading reviews of them and they had one bad review after another. The plan with the most people in it, is not necessarily the best.
@@emilythemedicarecoach , is there a limit to amount of a rate hike (or is all under the states ins. board decision?)? Amount of time to warn customers (like right after approved)?
I live in Florida and rates are enormous. I may get a supplement because we plan on traveling a lot and I want the protection. But if they get ridiculous I will just stay with original Medicare. Medicare is already the best insurance I have ever had. All the insurance I ever had was crappy. $8,000 deductible, 40% copays.
Florida has unique rules that make supplement plans more expensive, however we have some FL clients on supplement plans that are less than $70 month. These plans have low commissions so agents, brokers or insurance companies don't usually talk about them. There can be more affordable supplement plan options to limit your financial risk. Therefore, make sure you know all your options so you can do what's best for you
How do we find an agent who is in our area that can do a good job of helping us pick a good Medicare supplement plan and with a good company. Is you talk just for newly enrolling people? Watched another of your videos and you said your not an agent. Did sign up with USAA which seems to have own agents, been in business awhile and good rating, but they told me of changing rates in May. Wonder if rules to how long before can tell customers (they sent out notice 5 wks before it started). The rate hike was approved by California 12/14/23.
I also live in California and we can switch around our birthday. It is called the birthday rule. We can switch without underwriting. I plan on switching next January.
Do you have a medicarecoach on weekends or at night?

This is correct. This is why it's so important to consider all of these factors - especially rate hikes!

@@emilythemedicarecoach HDG very affordable, not really high deductible, really it's a low Max out of pocket and lower price increases year over year.
