I want to thank you, I now have a small collection of GW-500s because they look so repairable and so so functional, it’s my daily work watch because of your videos, again thank you so much!
Hi Greg - if this particular watch has mineral crystal you can remove the scratch(es) with Cerium Oxide. That is what I use for my G-Shock squares restoration projects. It's a powder that you mix with water then use a microfiber cloth to polish the small scratches out. At first it won't look like it's doing anything (it's a slow process) but the scratch(es) will eventually polish out.
Greg..you can drive yourself crazy collecting various versions of watch models. I'm doing that but not as extreme as what you are doing. I was the same way collecting records, 45s in particular. There were many label variations, and audio variatons in the mastering. Also the record may be made of different materials. I enjoyed owning the different variations.
I thought it could be the multiband antenna, but I think your explanation is better. After all, we can see the watch is in sync with the other one, so he probably successfully received the signal. One more possibility is that it's a part of the solar charge, but I doubt it's so rudimentary.
Hello Greg, please tell me if I replace the battery in my watch, how can I reset it? After replacing the battery, I could not find information on this issue anywhere. If it's not difficult, please tell me. I've been wearing an excellent watch for 10 years, but now it's time to change the battery. A question has arisen.

Youve inspired me to fix my M500! Thanks
Great stuff as usual, Greg! This model of G-Shock is growing on me :)
Good job Greg. I'm always interested to see mod/repair videos it's how we all learn, and the end result looks really good.
Greg, you love these watches 🙂
I'm with Leo, that little metal piece could be part of the antenna...
Good job, thanks for sharing.
Good job Greg 👍
That metal, little piece might be an antenna.
A die hard gshock fan for sure!

The metal piece may be used to conduct the static electricity of the metal bezel to the back plate

@@damyr Metal bezel models without radio and bluetooth have similar parts, so probably not the antenna
And they are not connected to the movement, but the screws leading to the back plate
@@Four-J67 you're right.

😊👍
Do you have the older GD 350? Seems rare.
I bought this watch Im sure more than 15 years ago and I still have it.
could the metal piece be an antenna for multiband?
Hi. How did you remove the metal bezel ?

Here's a great, detailed video about changing the battery in a very similar watch. ua-cam.com/video/R6JbrVDqR7w/v-deo.htmlsi=3EpVgl_X2pSvAUds
This shows how to reset the watch at about 8:00 in the video.
@@GoodTimekeeper Hello Greg. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. You helped me a lot.
