@@sethguardado8178 Originally WestJet was an excellent airline, excellent service, had really good flight routes even smaller ones, and good prices, but as they have been expanding more internationally they have I made cuts, service isn't as good and they have gotten political. The thing about the Canadian airline industry is there are only 2 main stream airlines. Air Canada, and WestJet so you can't compare them to Southwest or Alaskan, mind you I haven't flown southwest so I'm not sure how similar it is to WestJet. But Alaskan is quite different than WestJet, although they are partners.
Bro I was literally just thinking days ago "man he's flown with a lot of Airlines, but he's never flown with WestJet." Crazy enough, not long after that. I see that you had some flights coming featuring them. It's nice to see a vision coming true.
Got de-iced when I flew from Atlanta to Vegas last week on the A330-300 since the plane sat overnight and developed frost on the wings. It’s really cool to see them de-ice. I’ve experienced de icing in other airports like DCA, BWI and DEN but never in Atlanta.
Wow. This flight was positively Canadian. I've gone in and out of YYC and back in 1995, I flew over Yellowknife at night. The good news: no jet lag on this flight.
Well to be fair, it's the same green fluid they use in the US and everywhere else too. You just see it more in Canada because of their winter climate. I've had the nice green type IV fluid used on flights as far south as Tulsa, Oklahoma. Thanks for watching my friend!
Thanks my friend! Yeah, thankfully the deicers were kind and didn't coat every window of the plane with the fluid haha. The good news was that in Yellowknife it was SO cold they didn't really have to de-ice. The snow just blew right off as soon as they started the engines.
Hey mate thanks for the excellent de icing footage living in Australia its an unneeded proceedure ive never seen it from inside the cabin ,really great ,must slow things down a lot departure wise spraying every plane ,but i guess its a process your all used to ,Top Channel mate Cheers kym Adelaide
It does slow down your departure, but the airlines are pretty good at scheduling the time needed to do it. Once that time of year starts, they'll block their flights for an extra 20-30 minutes to account for the likely need to de-ice. So, my experience is that they still almost always arrive on time.
As always beautiful uploads and the filming edition camera work looks spectacular gorgeous super sharp and clear and you nailed it again, appreciate most of your spectacular beautiful shooting adventures and have a wonderful blessing weekend .. thanks again my friend
A great view. I had seat 4F near a wing but the window was frosty and then droplets so the Photos did not look clear like this. It's great. Even melted it was snowing and cloudy. 18 degrees in Minneapolis.
Oh just wait haha. I was flying to Yellowknife to fly on Air Tindi. And on one of the flights we flew up into the Arctic Circle. The feel like temp with the wind chill was -70F. Somehow my cameras never quit working despite my 1 liter water bottle freezing solid just on the 1.5 hour flight up. And it was inside the plane the whole time haha.
Love the new diversification of new airlines and new countries. Never expected you to fly to Yellowknife lol I love WestJet their service is really good especially compared to Air Canada and it is still fairly good but I have noticed it isn't as good as it used to be. I would love to see a flight on there 787 if you could get that that would be awesome like YYC to FCO would be cool.
I hope you were able to catch the aurora while you were in Yellowknife? You can see the aurora almost all winter long in Yellowknife, as long as it’s not cloudy! ☁
You know what's crazy? I wasn't haha. Despite my host telling me the winter nights there are mostly clear and cold, I had nothing but overcast the entire time I was there haha. I went all the way to Yellowknife and I didn't see them. I then was in Vancouver with the most light solution possible in May and saw them there haha.
I think the temperature inside my house dropped 30 degrees while watching this video..BRRRRRR😃Looks like you had a nice flight on Westjet. They started fliying out of Detroit last Summer...to Calgary...and starting in May they are flying daily (seasonal) flights to Vancouver. I hope they do well. Very nice video....thanks.

I filmed deicing on a cell phone from MPS to Las Vegas in January. It took about an hour. If the wings are not cleared off they could fail in flight and lose lift and altitude. Thus fall from the sky. It's not just for beauty.
Oh, you know. Was just looking for some refreshing -30-40 C temperatures to really get my creative juices flowing haha. No, so you are correct. Normally I wouldn't have decided to go to Yellowknife for 4 full days in the middle of January. However, I was invited to come up by Air Tindi. They offered to host me for a few days that also came with the opportunity to film some of their very old and unique fleet, as well as some of their very unique operation. Of course, 4 days seems like a long time even for that, but when you consider we only had roughly 5-6 hours of usable light each day.... Well, doing one RT flight a day was usually all you could do. I ended up taking 6 flights on Air Tindi, and I filmed 4 of those. Two of them were returns after sunset and there wasn't anything to film. Not exactly a lot of city lights up there. I ended up with 3 Dash 7 full flights and one Twin Otter full flight. All of those videos are still in the pipeline. Since Air Tindi offered to host me, put me on those flights, and let me film some things I normally don't get to film, they requested that they be able to review them before I post them and they are currently going through that process. I would love to get back up to Northern Canada again, but preferably in the May-September timeframe haha. One of the places we flew the Dash 7 to was inside the Arctic Circle and the feels like temp with the wind chill was -58 C or close to -70 F. Honestly, when they offered to host me I was like... "I will come, but I can't guarantee my iPhones or hands will work well in those temps. Honestly, my iPhones performed admirably. Far better than my hands did haha. I had never experienced cold like that. I mean, I thought I'd experienced true cold... But the coldest I'd ever been in before was like -15 F. Maybe with wind chill like -25 F. I even camped in -0 F or below, but this... This was a whole new level of cold. I had full on winter gear. Like heavy duty stuff. I had three layers of socks including one full wool pair, with insulated boots that I used when I was a firefighter, and my feet got so cold... Man, that feels like -70 F up in the Arctic Circle... Brutal. Even with all of my gear, I could only manage about 5-6 minutes out of the Dash 7 before I came scampering back inside haha.
@@sla31 that is amazing! I look forward to your videos on the dash 7! I grew up in Sudbury and we flew the dash 8 regularly down to Toronto. Usually to catch a flight somewhere else in Canada like Winnipeg or Vancouver. I have experienced cold weather in Northern Ontario but nothing like what you described. Here in Canada's southernmost region (where I live now) it was sweater weather and Temps in the 40s. Crazy for February!
It was a bit cold for my taste haha. The feels like -70F I had to deal with inside the Arctic Circle on this trip was brutal. Somehow my iPhones didn't die and I was able to film it all haha.
Great fly! Have you heard that the Lufthansa passenger died after the blood erupted from the passenger's month and nose during the flight? He was traveling back to Germany from Thailand.
The ads are the only thing that allows me to create new content. I wish that wasn't the case, but that's they way it is. I'm not rich, I don' have flight benefits, I don't know someone who has flight benefits, etc. I pay for everything you see on here out of my own pocket and I spend a considerable amount of money every year doing so. If it wasn't for the ads, the channel wouldn't exist at all. The only way to get away from them is to pay for UA-cam Premium. Because here's the conundrum... Even if I disabled them, UA-cam would still play ads there. I just wouldn't get any of the benefits from them. So even if I was rich, and I could just do this for the good of everyone at a complete loss, there would still be ads on the videos and instead of going to me, all that money would go right to UA-cam. So, I'm sorry the ad jarred you awake, but they are a necessary deal for this channel to exist.
It's another new airline for the channel! It's my first full flight on WestJet! Another WestJet flight coming up soon! Enjoy!
How was your experience on WestJet? Is it like the Southwest of Canada or more like the Alaska airlines of Canada?
Another fire vid m8 keep it up 🔥

Just wait until the stuff starts posting from my Europe trip. My goal was to fly as many new airlines as possible 😁.
According to the weather records, it was ~-21C in Yellowknife that day. Not to bad at all, lol.

You know you're flying in Canada when everything is in English and French. I haven't flown Westjet in a long time, my go to airline is Air Canada
Will you have a full flight to Calgary video comeing soon
Yes, I flew in on a WestJet 737-8 Max that that video will be on the channel soon!
That looks like a cold flight for sure!
I wonder what the temperature was!
The high temperature for that day in Calgary was 10F. In Yellowknife, the high temperature that day was -15F.
Saw a green wing in the thumb. Immediately clicked.
Thankfully my window didn't get covered in what I often call the anti-filming fluid haha.
Interesting destination choice in January. What brings you up to the frozen north?

Magnífico Decolar Na Neve 😊😊
Seat 5F? Wouldn’t that be in front of the wing?
Yes, you would be correct. That was a carry over error from the template I used for the description. 21A was the actual seat.
That was the temperature.
