- Today, renowned artist Hazel Soan takes us on an artistic safari.
Using a limited palette and a few deft brushstrokes, she paints a series of lively and memorable studies including giraffe, flamingos, leopards and springbok...demonstrating that it is as much about timing as technique when it comes to capturing the fleeting beauty of the African wildlife.
In her final painting, Hazel goes out on location to capture the glowing colours of a stunning African sunset.
The way you prepare and mix colors is an eye opener. Your teaching helps a lot.

It’s sad I don’t have your talent😢
beautiful video
Awesome....
Good morning Hazel, I’m new to watercolours. I have your little round dish to put the colours in. Should I pour my paint into a a pallet and let it dry and use like that ? My colours dry in the tube and then I can’t use them. Pouring the colours into the dish seems such a waste if you don’t use them again. What is your take on this, or have you a video on how to treat your colours. Many thanks.
This isn’t her channel so she won’t see your questions. 😢

For anyone following along, make sure you use Permanent Alizarin Crimson, not the regular one that fades.
