In relation to how being a 5 colour commander almost makes its cards a reflection of the format as a whole perhaps it would be interesting to take say the top 10% of decks from the top 10 most played commanders and look at the resulting card pool? It would certainly be interesting to see if any unexpected cards are performing well across the format and perhaps even reveal synergies that might work with less explored commanders
That is the plan. I am starting to gatther a lot of datra from different commanders, Eventually I will add them kinda togheter.
Najeela Enthusiast here. Thanks for the info rundown as always
Your welcome!
Najeela main here! Really good video!
Najeela main here, whats your take on cards like tymna in the 99 for card draw value. Alot of times i realize my ganes end up going to mid range. Becuz you're stopping someone or your being stopped. And u need gas.
I have played that and I did like it but I can se it not being the best. There should be better value engiens and you don't need that many. I don't think I would play tymna in Najeela anymore.
When it comes to statistics it would help to have 90% confidence intervals to better understand what effects are significant and what aren't.
Oh. Yeah I forgot about those. Used to talk about them alot when I studied. Could look into it.
Great video! It makes me wanna build this commander!
It is currently one of the stronger ones.
i have a different take on najeela and these 5 color decks. my guess is these type of decks are actually more dependent on searching to fix both their mana and look for win cons. maybe a breakdown of some of these decks by amount of card draw, active card selective, and tutors would probably be a better breakdown. like does a 5 color pile benefit more from generic card draw or explosive card draw? if so then the one ring would be good or ad naus would be good etc.
Najeela just needs card draw period
Doesn't 13 rainbow rocks , 5 rainbow lands, and 10 fetches fix color naturally? Heaviest color lean tends to be U > B > R > W > G. So 1-3 talismans shore that up. Color fixing isn't really a problem
@CheckM8xN8 it is a problem when you play antisearch cards like opposition agent and cards that hurt greedy mana bases like blood moon and back to basics
I really like to see how ur iterations are getting better and better.
I wonder if you can "categorize" your stats review. Gameplan: include the unique line and maybe a layer the cards that may layer off of the main game plan cards. Archetype: is the Archetype correct? Is the avg list more greedy. Less counter spells more rituals. More dorks. More hate bears. Targeted removal and Board wipes. This may be more clear with commanders that have a few different styles. Like Kenerith, tymna/kraum , Thrasios Varients (my bais btw).
In the long term. You can analyze the entire meta with all of the collected data. Stax vs midrange vs turbo. How much does the meta include pivot cards that turn the corner. How much does the meta include particular rituals. "What is auto-include or staple cards that are here now vs what was once considered a staple card."
Yeah I am trying to figure out how I can figure out that data currently. But yes this is the plan.
Dope
A draw isn't a loss, it's 1/5 a win. Otherwise people would never ID in tourny. It does deserve some distinct evaluation.
it alredy gets that evaluation.
I stand by druids repository tho whole reason najeela is good is because of the infinite attack combos she has other than that she really isn't that strong compared to the other commanders in the format. You can argue she has a lot of different win cons because shes got all five colors but so does kenrith and hes more versatile hes got draw on him he has recursion the guy is a toolbox of a card and he has all of the same thoracle and breach shit that najeela has what makes her unique is her ability to go infinite with quite a few different cards. Ive found that after playing with her for a few years and honestly ive had a lot of luck with her.
NICE 😍
Sad trombone for the Najeela stax segment. One of the first things I tried when entering into the realm of cEDH was Mons' Blood Moon Najeela stax. Unfortunate to see the meta warp away from hate being viable. We need a blood moon for artifact mana sources if we're ever going to undo the damage treasures have caused.
I wonder about the stats of Dauthi, Dranith alone and together also in combination with Oppo agent. What about the white tree - what is the win%?
Short answer both drannight magistrat and dauti voidwalker is below average. arround 19% both. Oppoagent is at 24 % so that one is good. I think the reason is that drannight and voidvalker dosen't give you any value. sure dauti actually dose but I have heard people saying they are cutting it becouse it dosen't do that much.
Dranigt magistrat and dautivoid walker togheter gets a 19,04 % winrate. And this dosen't get better when combined them with opposition agent. So the answer is. Oppoagent seams to be good. While drannight and voidwalker is lacking.
Hope that helps.
@@cedhtv this is so weird..for me these were auto-includes. I thought that you cant go wrong with them, as they are disrupting so many strategies and are super strong anti-breach tech. Not sure what this means for Najeela...lean more in to the all-in turbo style?
Can I get the link to that list of cards and win rates that you were looking at at the end?
There is no link. I calculat this myself. I have them on my computer.
Is there any chance you can do Korvold?
I will eventually get there :) So yes.
14:05 there’s a wild difference between a Druid’s repository and a suppository 😂😂😂 thought I’d share that with you because I know you’d get a laugh out of it on playback as well!
What are you using to analyze the decks?
edh top 16. edhtop16.com/tournaments?tourney_filter__size__%24gte=64&tourney_filter__dateCreated__%24gte=1666415061
I collect decklistas and the WINS LOSS and DRAW from those decklists.
@@cedhtv yes I understand that, but are you just inserting the data manually using an excel sheet to create the winrate by card stats or are you using a program/code you wrote thats filtering the data and giving you the statistics?
@@CompetitiveEDH I am using a code I wrote myself. why you ask?
@@cedhtv I asked because I was seeing if it would be something you could share or point in the direction of, but with it being your own work and seeing you're making videos in a unique direction I understand you holding on to this. I really wanted to see the "optimal" 99s based off your code. I understand it's not as simple as this is the 99 recommended, but I liked the video and Najeela is my favorite cEDH list.
@@CompetitiveEDH I have decided to share my codes and things with Patreons. The reasons is that it is quite complicated and I cant just hand things over. It needs, how should I say. Explinations and conversions.
If I would send you the code you would come back to me with questions. And it would be alot of questions. I don't mind taking the time to explain to Patreons. But if I would open up to the world I woulden't have the time.
But I can look into any statitics intreast you have.
Just write
"Mons I would love to know about this card and these circumstances."
And I would do my best.
Is there a complete list of all the 300+ cards with %?
No. It is just a text file that I have on my PC.
@@cedhtv Is there any way for us to get access to that file? Would be nice to see all the data
Are the cards that we are pulling percentages for actually drawn or cast in order for statistics to be recorded? Or does there presence in the deck give the cards the winrate of the deck?
The presence in the deck. We don't have record of the games played. We only have decklist and what winrate that deck got from that tournament it enterd.
@@cedhtv maybe that should be a new project for someone, that would make fantastic data. Then we could “money ball” and really have a good idea of where the cards fall in how they effect the overall winrate of the deck.
Watching this because my najeela deck keeps getting staxed by urza and I lose constantly 🙄
You should be able to solve that I think. What is urza doing to you?
@cedhtv it's probably largely my fault tbh 😮💨 my deck probably isn't super good compared to the real big boy ones, the ones that get me are winter orb, static orb, back to basics, pithing needle, deck is like 50% counterspells, and all the 0 mana artifacts, gets too far ahead too fast and then I'm just stuck
The sad answer is win before all of those gets into play. How to do that is to have all the busted expensive cards. what I think you should do is test playing more value cards. Cards that draw cards turn after turn or trigger after trigger. Your 5 colors you can do anything.
@cedhtv that's kind of the answer I was leaning towards too. I'm willing to bet the issue is I've just been outspent. Plus I didn't know a lot of my main combo pieces are obsolete now, but they did feel a little slow
@cedhtv oh oops I misread that, I'll definitely look into that! Thank you!
Sisay stat please 😊
Rog Si has the best conversion rate currently So I want to take a look at that next. But sisay actually has a good conversion rate to. So soon sisay.
I was in a 27 players tournament last week and a Sisay deck won
i was hoping to see toski😢
i think this assessment based on 1 card and win rates doesnt make any sense at all
What do you mean?
I get all the focus when I play Najeela pls help
not much to do. Najeela demands that you interact with her. Or you lose.
Let other people play their interactions first. If you sense the coast is clear, go for the win. If you're playing in a hi power pod (not cedh), you most likely won't win as Najeela is a removal magnet
culling ritual has always overperformed in all decks i have played it in.
I need one for narset
The new Narset? Sure. I will eventually get there.
@@cedhtv I was talking about the old one, I think she is more stronh un a cedh game
