Ugh, I hate when talented people just prove even more talented every time you meet them. I had a friend who was tall, thin, blond, gorgeous, hilarious, a total sweetheart, perfect mom. On top of that, she had a beautiful singing voice, played piano, could cook and bake anything, was an amazing painter, and majored in costume design, so she could sew like crazy too. We had a talent show at our church. I told her, "Dude, you have plenty to show off, geesh." What did she do for the show? JUGGLING, FUCKING JUGGLING. LEAVE SOME FOR THE REST OF US OR FUCK OFF BRYN. Great gal.
“… I prefer the dark.” This is from the wedding cake tasting scene when Miles and Jack are trying to get on the road, and although he’s ostensively talking about chocolate vs white cake, I think it’s one of the most brilliantly subtle foreshadowing lines I’ve heard in a movie for quite some time.
Paul was always relegated into a second hand role. But he is brilliant, smart, funny, and very talented at many things. He has worked with some of the greatest actors of our time, and held his own. From Saving Private Ryan to his other works, he is one of the few who sticks out. God bless him. His art is great as well.
This was great! I really enjoy seeing people's hobbies, in the comfort of their own home. I hope you continue to do a few home interviews, even when you are back to the studio. And I hope Paul does a graphic novel.
One of my favorite scenes from John Adams is the blood letting scene... just imagine being very sick and someone drains blood as a treatment(horrible)... Perfect capture the face and the pain of the moment.
Paul is SUCH an underrated actor. I personally became a major fan of his work from his depictions as political and historical figures. Like John Adams on HBO and Abraham Zapruder in the movie Parkland. He absolutely encompasses his roles and performs unlike anything I’ve seen before. God bless this genuine and talented man. I hope to one day meet him. 💙🇺🇸
Paul G. is such a great actor and now I know he's an artist as well! He must have really enjoyed playing comic book artist Harvey Pekar in American Splendor.
Paul is one of the best actors on the face of this planet. He has depth, character, a full spectrum range of intellectual diversity. Comedic. Blows away almost all competition. Excellent cartoonist too, wow.
I love the movie American Splendor where Giamatti plays the comic book writer/graphic novelist Harvey Pekar. In it, Harvey repeatedly explains/displays that he can’t draw at all.
Yes, Paul could illustrate Whose "Virus is this Virus" followed by "When you open a door you meet all the people at the steeple God is everywhere like viruses, he would love people to stay home"
I've never seen an episode of Billions and I don't know Giamatti from tortellini but this interview was pretty delightful and those cartoons are impressive to say the least.
I love giamatti but I had to laugh that after he said he doesnt show his cartoons to anyone he goes on to say that everyone says that the one cartoon looks like rasputin
Love Paul G.! I had no idea of his artist's talent. If he put his works up for sale, I'd frame that creative gold! Also~love Stephen's loose collar easy going look! He's really much more handsome than I had ever noticed!!
Sorry but am I the only one who burst out laughing uncontrollably when Paul said that out of all the illustrious co-stars he worked with the baboon was the most memorable one? And he proceeded with the details...Geeshh I'm not sure if he meant to be funny but I had to stop everything I was doing and appreciate that moment.
Those drawings are really good! It sucks that the new season of Billions is going to stop in the middle, but it's understandable of course. I really hope they get to finish it sooner rather than later, but that's up to something a lot more powerful than ratings.
I love Stephen’s reaction when Paul said he would do a drawing just for him. *PURE JOY!!!* I wish we could bottle it. 😊
Agreed!
So good
Paul G is so talented, and humble. Love the art.
I've had the biggest crush on Paul Giamatti for years. His voice, mannerisms, intelligence just say interesting person.
It's almost disgusting how talented Paul Giamatti is.
Lmao! I love your use of the word disgusting. I do this all the time! 😂😂😂
Coastfog I'm jealous too, but I won't let it stop me appreciating his talent. He brings out the bon vivante bon homme in me.
@@stancurrent8133 I'm just using hyperbole. 😉 I am a huge fan of his.
In Iceland, if something is really good, we say that it is "DISTGUSTINGLY GOOD", all the time.

His art is SICK! Sort of like noir-psychadelic.... He has an entire universe of creativity totally outside of acting
I think you've found the illustrator for your next book, Stephen: Whose Virus is this Virus?
That's a great idea! It will be a weighty tome though, considering how many moronic things The Great Pumpkin-head has said during this situation.
@International Harvester OMG, you made me fall off my chair:D
Or Marlon Bundo and the Social Distance
YES!
Paul is quite the artist.
Paul is the best actor He Us talented😀♥️
Paul Giamatti has been one of my favorite actors for years. Glad to see he's doing well.
Paul “I’m not drinking any f*****g merlot” Giamatti
Fucking great dude! Very nice!
Great movie...kinda launched him to the masses although he'd already been around....

Damn straight. It's all about the Pinot and the Malbec.
God that movie is so fucking depressing and Giamatti is so fucking good in it

That whole baboon section of the interview in the middle is hilarious, love Paul
Paul Giamatti’s smile is recognizable everywhere
Paul Giamatti is wonderful; I am so grateful for this interview!
One of my favorite scenes from John Adams is the blood letting scene... just imagine being very sick and someone drains blood as a treatment(horrible)... Perfect capture the face and the pain of the moment.
They: any specific reason you're a fan of Paul Giamatti?
Me: billions
What a brilliant actor! And funny man, too. And now artist, wow!
I always believe him, no matter what role he tackles.👍💗😊
He is Everyman ...
Which is such a great talent.
Me: Pretty much everything he does. He is always entertaining.
How did you get them all to ask that at the exact same time?
I see what you did there...
Paul is so talented! Really excited for Billions to return. Homeland and HTGAWM ending took a lot outta me 😫
I gave up HTGAWM a few seasons ago, how has the last season been holding up? Is it worth getting back into it?
I always love watching these two get together. They revert back to teenagehood nerdistry together and it's wonderful.
So fun to watch this actor. He's compelling in every roll. One of the few actors I would love to spend time with

Paul G. is such a great actor and now I know he's an artist as well! He must have really enjoyed playing comic book artist Harvey Pekar in American Splendor.
I always knew Paul Giamatti was very talented, but wow! Love his drawings!!!
I want an art channel of Paul Giamatti !
Yes! We need a positive spirit to remind us of Bob Ross:)
Paul probably has more hidden talents we have not yet been exposed to!
Stephen once said Paul Giamatti was/is America's sweetheart 🤗💖
Wow! That one at 2:18 is wonderful. I gasped when he held it up.
Billions is such an underrated show!
BTW:
Giamatti & Colbert seem to get their eyeglasses from the same optician. ^^
Underrated by who ?
This man's talent is beyond belief.
Paul is one of the best actors on the face of this planet. He has depth, character, a full spectrum range of intellectual diversity. Comedic. Blows away almost all competition. Excellent cartoonist too, wow.
Wow these drawings are amazing!
Met Mr. Giamatti at the Spy Museum (where I work) a few months back. He was so nice and gracious - wonderful to see him and his drawings on your show!
I love how Stephen busted him up with "showbiz" at 5:55
The man has limitless talent.
Paul Giamatti needs to do a stop motion cartoon with his art. Maybe get with a writer and do illustrations..
I really enjoyed his performance in Downtown Abbey, were he played Cora's brother.
I'm in love with Paul 😍
So do I
Gawd thank you Paul, Billions is the only reason I watch Showtime you and Damien are so muckin entertaining!
That last drawing was my #1. Deep and mystical and mysterious.
Thank you Paul Giamatti for being such a talented, amazing talent!
I love that both of these men have bookshelves full of books behind them.
I love the movie American Splendor where Giamatti plays the comic book writer/graphic novelist Harvey Pekar. In it, Harvey repeatedly explains/displays that he can’t draw at all.
That is very good Mr. Giamatti. Very good. I have been doing this stuff for many many decades. It is great sketchbook stuff
Great drawings.....
I think you should all watch Paul Giamatti's American Splendor, you could clearly see he loved that role.
Wish I could draw like that, those are amazing. His style would make a great comic.
What a fun interview. I appreciate how Giamatti didn't seem bothered to sell Billions that much. And it's a great show.
Let me just take a moment to say...
Paul Giamatti is an awesome human being.
I love the realness of the home formate, the time of the studio mite be over.
Paul G. - You rock! Love you.
charming interview and not at all ordinary...so much talent between Stephen & Paul!
Wow! I love his drawings.
Love his work. I do a lot of sketching, and being at home really encourages that pencil to start moving across the page...
How great are those drawings!!!!! WOW!!!!!
Paul is such a sweet guy, that can also play such incredibly evil bad guys!
I love the style of his drawings... definitely another great talent he has!
He's acting like he does AND he's drawing things like he's shown?
What an asshole.
I love him.
Yes, Paul could illustrate Whose "Virus is this Virus" followed by "When you open a door you meet all the people at the steeple God is everywhere like viruses, he would love people to stay home"

I smell a future doing New Yorker cartoons. That's effin' genius.
Wow. Love those faces
He's an amazing artist! That last one he held up reminds me of the art in the Pink Floyd The Wall movie.
Spectacular. You should take pictures of them. Splendid.
Those illustrations were brilliant!
I love giamatti but I had to laugh that after he said he doesnt show his cartoons to anyone he goes on to say that everyone says that the one cartoon looks like rasputin
