Here we all are, my husband & I with people around the world. We're watching, entertained, impressed, inspired, relating, & full of hope & fear for these eagles & their eggs. They're so driven by dedication & instinct. Against the harsh elements while negotiating their relationship 😊. It feels like a little space for solace & shared experience with other citizens of the world. In glad I'm here. It's reminded me that the thoughts & feelings I have about & for this pair is how I think & feel for my fellow humans; including hope & fear. Sorry if I sound too sappy. Be with you all at the next video.
I’m watching from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. Just can’t wait to see those three babies 😊❤
10:55 am 3/5/2024. Watching hoping cheering for the adults and the babies that are coming. Love this site.
4:44 HALF his DNA,half hers- well done daddy... Now,IF both humans took responsibility like this- what a different world. I'm not saying you have to stay together forever I'm just saying you have to take care of your baby from the minute it's yours
@pamm agreed😢😂😊..all of it- right here.. disrespectful or or harsh.. but to be honest. If this is how much hell Blood Sweat and Tears, a couple in nature can go through to protect Unborn little beings, how are humans such monsters sometimes to there children.. . And, disproves more than anything, from the minute they are conceived they are half his DNA and half hers an equal parts responsibility❤❤♡♡♡
Bless them with some healthy babies. Bless this Eagle Family 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤
They are both so awesome hopefully the weather will change soon 🌤️☀️
The sunrise reflecting off the lake is absolutely gorgeous. These two work so well together, just waiting for the pup and hatching.
Jackie and shadow deserve these babie. God bless them and help them. Let’s all pray for them.
Been watching these birds for over four years now. They went viral and I was watching them when only 13 or even 5 folks watched. Now it's 30602... 300,000 subs!
Wow, That sunset perfectly in place we get to see ALL THE BEAUTY❤❤
Also that is the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen. Holy shit
SHE'S THE SWEETEST. SHE GAVE HIM KISSES BEFORE TAKING OVER THE NEST...SHE'S LIKE THANKING HIM 😊❤❤
THANK YOU!!!😍😊
their stoic tenacity never gets old. even the smallest movement is amazingly regal!
Such a beautiful scene of pure contentment💕
God bless this family and take care of them
Please help them and guard their babies.❤
Очень переживаем за эту красивую пару! Невозможно наблюдать за уютным гнездом 24 часа в сутки. Спасибо, что даёте возможность увидеть самые красивые моменты ❤️🦅
What a stunning sun rise. Before the prcipitation started up again.
All those dots on the eggs! Gets us all excited to see a pip. Doesn't look like it yet, but...🤞🐣🐣🐣
Wonderful view! This season, the weather is more favorable with the eagles❤️🙏
Rock-a-bye baby, 🎶 in the tree top…..🎼🎵🎤
Shadow is a good man
Thank you❤❤ for these wonderful vidéos the nest is so steady in the middle of this Storm it is so amazing How they stand up against the gales of wind 12:27
Is there a word for the way they rock back and forth snuggling the eggs? Because there should be.
We can probably use @hbinfinity's word "sneagling." 😊 They actually move to have the eggs fit their brood patch (eggs directly touching the bare skin) to ensure heat touching the eggs. Great question, thank you.
Talk about a room with a view🥹🐣🐤🐥 I think they picked the perfect tree🏝
8:15 I CAN'T... SO ADORABLE,MAJESTIC, scary, ...etc
Thank you for this web view of Jackie and Shadow. How did you place the camera? I have been watching for 2 days and I have yet to see food brought to the nest. These majestic birds trust their lifetime mates unconditionally. Their stamina to sit and wait in that winter storm never abandoning the eggs . Absolutely incredible. Humans could learn a lot from these eagles. Brave..ever faithful. Intelligent creatures. Thank you !
Hi @Camerondelapp7489, cameras belong to FOBBV. They livestteam 24/7. We are only capturing activity highlights for those who do not have the time to watch all day. 😊. You can find the answer to your questions at FriendsofBigBearValley.org.
❤❤
Giving each other report for the shift...
8:23:01 just now there was a pip! You can hear it then mom responds!
That's wonderful, thank you @Cherylmarie5477! Let's wait for FOBBV's official announcement 😊. If you're referring to this video, the sound you heard may have come from Jackie's soft twerplings.
They look rough😢with the cold!
They are not cold. With all their down feathers they are quite comfortable
I wonder how insulated the nest is? What about cold air coming up from underneath?
Cold air normally, being heavier, falls rather than rises. Plus, eagles' nests are cumulatively built. This means that all the fluff and twigs of last season, and the season before that, and ..... are below the current nest. So the nest is probably VERY well insulated, compacted and firm below the current platform.
It seems These eaglets are on alert when the nest starts shakin and are always sensing -- is it wind or an earthquake. They have earthquake wings… like sailors have sea legs
True, bald eagles are very keen and astute 😊. Thank you for your great observation, @Leeleegilbert.
Shadow now missing as of 3/4/24. With that wind at 190 yesterday and night before, hope Shadow all right. Jackie called and no answer. This was this morning. Not sure of as this evening.
After the babies hatch they are going to need to go to the spa for some hair cuts and treatments, Nice view. I just starting watching and the storm had me worried. Didn't realize the awesome spot they were in. THANKS FOBBV Quick question if anyone knows. Do they both stay in the nest at night?
Hi @Evsta100, thank you for watching 😊. That's a question for FOBBV, but as your fellow observer, I have not seen Shadow roost in the nest with Jackie. He may be spending the night at the favorite roost tree close by.
They both seem tired and cold, next time don't put location on camera. I just want to give them a nice warm fleece jacket.
Their body temperature is 105 and they have a special part of their stomach. It’s called a brood I believe and that goes to 99° which warms the eggs they are built for the snow there’s thousands of eagles in Alaska. They are built for this they are truly built for this that’s why they have eggs during this time because this is just the way that they’re built and the eggs hatch in the winter.
They also have about 700 feathers, I believe or 7000 something like that I learned that from the black bear lake expert doctor I just don’t remember if it’s 700 or 7000 feathers lol but it’s true. They are built for certain I get super nervous trust me especially when it rains and when they’re covered in the snow buried in the snow I feel like they’re beak is gonna get froze shut but it’s not. I have to remember that they are 105° body temperature.
You're right, it's 7,000 feathers! They can lock the feathers together to create body heat, according to All About Birds.
Jackie and Shadow keep their eggs warm in subzero temperatures by applying heat via a brood patch. This patch is a special area of bare skin on their bellies.
That is sweet, @Jeffshriber6120. Fortunately, bald eagles are built for the winter season, with 7,000+ feathers to insulate their 105°F body temperature. As I call them "Built for Tough." They're intelligently designed, aren't they?
*sigh* I tried a "screen grab" but it didn't work. I'll have to search out the information on how to do it. Ah well. I will learn new things! YAY!! :D
You'll find the phone's screen grab soon, @Sylvisterling8782 😊. Thank you for watching 🙏🏼.
Ah, well, I'm actually on a desktop computer. My smartphone is much smarter than I am! :D But no surprise there... I'm so old, I remember when rocks were still soft! The last time I visited King Tut's tomb, the signs read "WET PAINT!" :D
This video is so helpful. Thank you for making it. I have almost no knowledge of eagle nesting. I gather there is no pip yet. Is anybody getting worried?
Thank you, @Loves2Read 😊. We have a viewer who time-stamped a sound coming from one of the eggs at 8:23:01am today (03/04/24). I checked and indeed there's a baby sound where Jackie responded! I sent the clip to FOBBV to verify. Now we are just waiting for their official confirmation 🙏🏼.
Oh that wind. So scary! What is the approximate size & weight of shadow & Jackie?
Hi @Lesliehubbell4649, so true - I overheard in the newscast winds picked up really high. As for J&S' size and weight, we can only guess since they have never been touched by humans to do the measurements. FOBBV should have the data; but I will guess Jackie is around 15lbs while Shadow may possibly be around 12lbs. We have seen both at close range - they are huge!.
Skip that sound.. 😂😂
Did I see this right? The channel put a light up in the tree that disturbs their sleep?
The light is infrared, only visible with special equipment (such as the camera is equipped with), andd is invisible to humans and eagles. As far as they know, it's pitch black at night. They sleep very well.
Hi @Tuxedomask7071. The camera has IR (InfraRed) that is visible only to the camera itself, not to the eagles, humans, or other animals.
Beautiful reflection of the sun rising on the lake
Quite breathtaking
It really is! 😊❤️
