    I'm sorry to see anyone leave Mexico and move back to the U.S. I can't imagine going back to the rat race. It's not possible to duplicate the life I've made on Lake Chapala anywhere else in the world especially in the U.S.
    Good luck to the both of you.

      We anticipate we'll be continuing our somewhat nomadic ways. So....not settling back into USA life is part of the plan. :) We'll be here and there and sharing more vlogs about this continuing adventure that is our lives. Much has been happening.

      We intend to be back in Mexico before too long. For the last several years we've been living somewhat nomadically...so we change locations periodically. There will certainly be more videos of our continued adventures. THANKS!!

      Thanks! I've been documenting the minimizing. Proud of the streamlining we've been able to accomplish. We've been putting miles under our tires and keeping busy with all the planned and unplanned! Vlogs will continue to share a little view into it all.

    I'm sure the US won't feel the same ever again since you got that bug trying other areas to live. An old timer ones said that if you start moving from place to place you will never be in peace. Hopefully you someday can find peace. And you older you get harder it become trying to find peace for what that means. Good luck. I have moved and lived in many places and I have never felt being at home anywhere. It's like feeling being nobody.......................no steady friends, family, locations you just don't belong anywhere and you get restless. It's not easy when you start moving and moving that's how it's been with me. I'm all lost. Ok, good luck this life comes only this uno time so enjoy.

      We've been partly nomadic for several years....and before that we both have moved around quite a bit. I expect we'll be back in Mexico. We're tending to things here in the states and putting miles under our wheels and seeing and experiencing a lot. It sure does come with an element of stress, of unrootedness, of not feeling able to fully settle into a spot.....like have a long-term garden, or chickens, or plants (which we did have for years in the past),....but we are willing to undertake the trade-offs for now. I will admit...sometimes I think of how much different (easier?) it would be to just stay put....but I have always had a restless spirit that calls me to always yearning for new horizons. THANKS for watching...all the best.

      What a wise and beautiful words; indeed, I was born in Mexico, moved to US, then a year in Italy ( I became one of them), return to US and now back in Mexico. I agree with you 100percent: we never again fit right in any place... But I won't change my life style for anything that requires be settled in a single place forever. As a person in our hometown back in Oklahoma told my husband: statistics shows that most people live and died within 20miles radius from where they are borne, wow, I can't imagine exist without living, experiencing and learning from different places, cultures and people in general.

      That makes 3 of us here. I got the travel bug early on from those back-of-a-staion-wagon summer road trips across the country when I was a kid. And then later on with work. Its hard to fit in when youre on the move. But its what we do and I love it. In the last 3 years, I have "lived" in 8 different places when not on the road.

      @@missmayflower I wasn’t aware there was an income requirement.. Thailand is one of the cheapest places to retire on earth. You can get a very nice spacious modern apartment for like $400 a month. Food is extremely cheap. Etc.

    Wishing you both the best 🤠, sorry you have to leave Chapala and return to the US; my husband has the same physical problem as your husband; and here in Mexico we can get over the counter medicine (Yurelax, ciclobenzaprina- muscle relaxer) without expensive doctor visit and price. Plus other medical beconditions with better care.
    Wishing you a safe trip and, hopefully, return to Mexico some day.

    I cant believe how little stuff you have. Good job. After 4 years, from 2 story house to boat and campervan, to just the van, I still have WAY too much stuff....and I am by myself. I am thinking of moving to La Paz after my lease in Ajijic is up next year. Thoughts?

    • @SandraBegotka
      @SandraBegotka  3 роки тому

      Hi...thanks for your comment. We own a property in TX where we have most of our "stuff". I've been whittling away & reducing overall #s of things for years. In TX I've been motivated to do a concentrated purge again....I'm sharing some of that in upcoming videos. La Paz: We rented a place outside of town for a month in 2016. It was to the north of La Paz. We liked it. It has a lot of conveniences being a big town. Big stores. Restaurants. Lots of choices. The Malecon is great. Beautiful. Plus...it's not too far to miles of beaches. Some popular ones and many where you will encounter no one. We've considered renting a place there ourselves...

    I bet you get culture shock going back to Texas, and definitely weather shock. When you come back, try a town with few gringos, it will be cheaper, slower, and friendlier, but stay in the highlands to get the best weather like Chapala, but without the mosquitos.

    • @SandraBegotka
      @SandraBegotka  2 роки тому

      If you have only a tourist visa, legally, you aren't supposed to be in the country for more than 180 days at a time. We also have business that requires us to return for a month or two each year. We're open to the possibility of taking the steps needed to acquire Permanent Residency status. It requires meeting the standards set by the Mexican government and being approved through their process.
