I might misremember, but I think that Victor's parents were actually loaded, the reason they're interested in the marriage is that in spite of their wealth they're still only commoners, so by the marriage their "bloodline" will finally be of nobility.
In the first song they explain that Victor’s family has money but no status whereas Victoria’s family has status but no money. The marriage was a mutual benefit for both families
Burton always had a thing for the macabre, but he also loves to show that the macabre can be beautiful. Notice how the living world is mostly gray and drab, without much color and the world of the dead is a wonderland of colors and sights.
@@AdamfromFWCI yeah, from my understanding it’s kind of like a flip book, they mold the characters and the sets out of clay and take a dozen or more pictures of each frame, movement, blink of the eye- all that. Then they add the music and sound later ( don’t take me for an expert, I only have a vague idea it’s been awhile since I watched a behind the scenes or anything). Another great Halloween/ Holiday Stop Motion you might enjoy is Nightmare Before Christmas. That’s also Tim Burton, there’s actually a featurette out there that shows the behind the scenes of how they did all of that. Those movies take such a long time to create and shoot, I think it took at least a couple years for it to all come together.
I love this movie so so much! I'd also love to see your response to 'Red shoes and the seven dwarves'. No horror themed kids movie, but (in my opinion) a super fun twist on the Snow White story.

No, you're right, they're " new richs " If I remember well and Victoria is from little nobility

Victor's family, the Van Dorts, DO have money. They are wealthy fish merchants. But they have no _class status,_

That's an interesting point. His movies are splashed with vibrant colours...
