Enjoyed watching you testing the Lockers. Your skating is smooth fluid and putting it to a good test on rails. Will get you some 8.75 when they come in. (not orange lol)
Taste is like the ass, divided. And that’s a good thing. For me any board riden by anyone without at least silver hangers and white wheels looks like an abomination.
Dan you are alot better of a skater than you give yourself credit for, I enjoy watching your style of skating. At 52 I cant do alot of tricks anymore but still enjoying skating with my kid.

Dan is sick. My only complaint about his flow is that he tries to pack too many tricks into one line, instead of focusing on cleaner, smoother, and more fluid tricks. He already has a unique style, and I think, for Dan specifically, less is more. Fast Dan looks great too. I feel like it’s more about self-control versus impulsiveness.
If you street skate the holes wear and i think the 3 holes will turn into one oval in less than a month. My thunders ive had for a year have diagonal ovals in all 4 holes
@@wilmueller6421 Pretty sure that's why bear trucks just have the 2 and always have a thin riser to take away wear. They are from a downhill set so know how to stop slop. Potentially the larger base plate and grooves along with the 'rocket bolts' mean the grind king set up has the same effect in removing the slop that causes such wear.

If I tell you why skateboarding is dying, can you support our band, with the same love you have for Truck Companies? Just like NBA viewership, thier main target demographic, doesn't exist in the same numbers anymore. If you hoike in a boiling hot fry pan, you will see your phlegm does not evaporate like water anymore. Those divots in the truck, from a science and mathematical point of view, reduce the degree of incline between the contact point of the trucks and the rails, while locked into tricks. The more of a horizontal plane you can keep the two points of contact on, the more stable it will be. Even if the degree of incline reduction is only .01 degree, for how precise skateboarding is, that is enough to produce viable impact when it comes to slipping out out of tricks due to the fact that the trucks often don't make contact with the grind point on a horizontal plane. It's not so much about "locking in" as it is not letting gravity pull you downward. The wheel still locks you in for the most part, since being locked in from slipping side to side would require side contact, not just a little divot to sit into, although the divot still helps and that's the point. Again, it reduces the degree of angle between the contact points and creates a more stable, horizontal plane for said object (skateboard) to sit on. Super long winded I'm kinda stoned munching on dinner
I think that lump will force you into those 50-50s where the rail is flush with your wheel on one side and then you’re about 35 degrees from being forward facing
@@dogf4cemf he saying " The more of a horizontal plane you can keep the two points of contact on" I question that because ? What happened to the Tensor trucks we were riding 20 years ago, that had a bit of resin to "facilitate" tailslides and blunts ? They were super hot when i was a kid lol
Tensor Sliders. All my friends skated Ventures but I rode those Sliders, just cause I liked the little orange shield and the unfinished metal look lol compared to the shiny oily look ventures had in the mid 2000's.
I've assumed Grind King were low quality because the last decade or two I've just seen them occupy Wal-Mart shelves and introduce weird new tech that never works out. Friend of my dad worked for them for a bit in the early '00s and said they wanted to just throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what stuck.
Just watched the new Von Dutch documentary. There's a cool nugget of Grind King history in there. I still skate a set of those glowing Kre-pers. I'd happily pre-order a reissue of them. Especially if the inverted kingpins are improved now.
I've always fell that Donald at Grind King strived to put out quality products and not just gimmicky stuff (Powell-Peralta) I was a Thunder guy back in the days too, but I always ran GK king pins and Bridge Bolts.
I had tons of grind kings when I was a little kid. from like 4th grade to 9th grade I had like 5 pairs. I might buy some grind kings just for nostalgia's sake sometime.
This is the only skatepark I have been to in California lol took my family to Disney land in April and I snuck out early one morning for a sesh. Hopefully I come back and hit many more
Not cool of me to mention, but there was a good opportunity to spend 5 minutes with that kid to build his confidence a bit and make the skate park feel a little less intimidating. Break the stigma. You were firing on these trucks, I’d like to see them in a few weeks. It’s awesome to see you enjoying skating.
How's it do for front willy? 😅 I bet they turn bout like Thunder cause I'm thinking the 8.5 step-down would make it feel like it turns a lil better but if you had 8.5 Thunders or 8.75 GKs they'd be closer to par.
Ive skated gk since 02 and never had any problems besides the king pin going too loose sometimes. I recently got the gk disruptors and the bushing came out during a crooked grind. I want to try these ones
Enjoyed watching you testing the Lockers. Your skating is smooth fluid and putting it to a good test on rails. Will get you some 8.75 when they come in. (not orange lol)

I used to love Gring King Highs, it was a real bummer when they stopped making them.
I’m here because I had a pair back in the day and plus they are Orange 🍊 🔥 bring back Colored trucks! Gullwing, Tracker..etc
Finally! I've been waiting for this video! 😂 I hope you have a Great 2025, Big Dawg!
Same lol. Can't wait for mine to arrive .
@viracocha03 For sure! The adjustable wheelbase and responsiveness alone make them worth it, in my opinion
You are a really good skater!! This with the microphone on you is great!
Yo Dan! It's Shane from way back in the Westminster skate park days. Love your videos, glad to see you're doing well and still killing it out there! 🤘
Mic a bit buggy at the end but great video as always Dan 👍
Dan, please do Curb Warz. You’d kill it.
Just watched the new Von Dutch documentary. There's a cool nugget of Grind King history in there. I still skate a set of those glowing Kre-pers. I'd happily pre-order a reissue of them. Especially if the inverted kingpins are improved now.
To be able to make yourself do tricks in properly/ not hitting it squared on the grind is crazy. Dan your to good dude lol
I’ve got some otw. Can’t wait to try them!
The orange trucks actually look pretty dope. Did t expect that
I've always fell that Donald at Grind King strived to put out quality products and not just gimmicky stuff (Powell-Peralta) I was a Thunder guy back in the days too, but I always ran GK king pins and Bridge Bolts.
Love the baseplate holes and would like to see that again on boards also.
Such A Smooth Operator 😊
HappyNewYear
Glad you’re recovering from the Lyme disease nicely. Killing it.
Happy New Year big dog!
Thanks for the entertainment D
Searching far and wide to find the flaws in these trucks 😆 lol it looks like a badass new product/design to me, that kind of stuff can open doors
Except he is skating exactly the same as he always does
great as always dan, you should add a second mic for you camera woman/man!
I’m actually kinda into the obnoxious orange tbh
20 years ago, my buddy Sam won a set of GK’s at our local jam for 3rd place and he couldn’t get rid of them quicker 😂
I would like to see you skate them on transition, doing long 50s, feebles, smiths, ext, on quarter pipe coping
I love orange, they look awesome.
I was curious about the wheelbase, and lower Cg. Great video Dan.
How's it do for front willy? 😅 I bet they turn bout like Thunder cause I'm thinking the 8.5 step-down would make it feel like it turns a lil better but if you had 8.5 Thunders or 8.75 GKs they'd be closer to par.
What a good skater, lands like 98% actual, like you can count on it..
You make these trucks look awesome
Ive skated gk since 02 and never had any problems besides the king pin going too loose sometimes. I recently got the gk disruptors and the bushing came out during a crooked grind. I want to try these ones
DAn makes the best skate vids ever
