But didn’t rusty die as a kid? Meaning that it’s possible that the OG didn’t have a twin inside of him and that his brother is actually just a deformed clone him?
Ben mentioned when examining dean that there was no "fetiform terratoma" discovered in him, which would indicate that, being a clone, he does not have what appears to be a fetus-like tumor growing in him. I realized when I looked that up (please don't actually look it up, they have a very gross looking image that I wouldn't share with my worst enemy), that he was looking at Dean's health thinking he's another of Doc's clones and realized he does NOT have a twin brother growing inside him

After regaining consciousness from the PROBLEM, Jonas immediately wanted to be placed in Vendata's body until a new body could be cloned for himself, the Blue Morpho's brain to be unceremoniously discarded in the process. The next plot point is that only Malcolm Fitzcarraldo (The Monarch), Dr. Tara Quymn, and Billy Quizboy are the only known biological children of Jonas Venture Sr. via natural conception. Bravo👏👏👏👏👏! The MCU has nothing that is the magnitude of The Venture Bros. I’ve watched this series at least 5 times and it only gets better w/ each viewing! This video essay connected more than a few dots that I failed to make or completely forget. This shows pop culture ref is insane! Comics books, cartoons, US history, music, and call backs that keep you engaged. I can’t express how wonderful this show is. Flawed people failing miserably in the pursuit of greatness and finding meaning in life in general. This show is beautiful.
@@dmtripreport8542 I said, “watched at least 5 times”. Fearing accusations of hyperbole, I didn’t mention that at bed time I would turn the lights out, put my headphones on and listen to either the “Go Team Venture” podcast or a UA-cam playlist of Venture Bros clips so they enter my dreams and it’s like I’m in the adventure having conversations with the characters.
That was a hell of a refresher. Thanks for that. Honestly, the most astounding part of that whole thing was finding out the Venture Compound is in Colorado Springs. How did I miss that?
ikr. There's a reference to Morpheus staying at a hotel near I-25, but I just figured the compound had no set address, or that could be placed wherever the plot needed it to be, like the map of Springfield.
i’ve always sort of interpreted Jonas Junior as being the result of Rusty being a "slug", and that the original Rusty wasn’t carrying him around during his childhood
It was found out through the recent Venture Bros movie that Rusty and the Monarch are indeed brothers. However instead of being the son of Blue Morphos wife he is the clone of Jonas Venture just like Rusty is. The monarch was initially born as R22 and was a clone of Jonas Venture which was spliced by baboon dna which gave him the side affect of enhanced anger and aggression thus implying that this is the reason why Malcom hates Rusty due to those same side affects. After the Monarch was cloned he was given to Blue Morpho and his wife as they were unable to conceive and Jonas lied to Blue Morpho that Malcom was his son. Since Rusty was also the clone of Jonas Venture and the original Rusty Venture this makes him and Malcom brothers. In addition we now kind of know who exactly is the mother of Hank and Dean. Also in the recent venture bros movie it was revealed that Hank and Deans mother wasn’t Bobbi but rather it is implied that Bobbi’s daughter Debbie’s eggs were given to Rusty in exchange for her transferring her powers to her daughter thus making Debbie Hank and Deans mother. In addition this makes Bobbi the maternal grandmother of Hank and Dean. Now two theories of the show have been confirmed to be true that being who Hank and Deans mom was and that Rusty and Malcom were brothers.
Also the movie makes Dean and Hank more like Guild Royalty, because both are descendants one of the founders of the Guild and the rightful sovereign of the Guild.
Man, I got the complete series for Christmas and a month later the movie for my birthday. I love this series so much. Im a little sad it's over, but seven season and a movie that also sorta encapsulate nearly two decades of my life on a part of my shelf? I love it. I fucking love The Venture Bros.
I've watched the Venture Bros for years. Just bought the 7 season DVD set and finished it the other day. Still finding stuff I've missed the many times I've watched them. For instance, at JJ's funeral, the captain is singing the Crash Test Dummies song 'Mmm Mmm Mmm'. Dr. Venture can't believe JJ requested this. The attorney said yes he requested it. Sing Crash Test Dummies At My Funeral. They have a song with that title, At My Funeral. But not being familiar with band's songs, the Captain took it at face value. And sang the other song. 🤣
Only thing I didn't see, was that the Sovereign very clearly turned into an eagle and got accidentally shot out of the sky by OSI Agent Headshot, gives an eagle scream and plops into the water, then sinks. Not just disappeared, dead with no notice.
7:25 In the commentary for the movie, Doc and Jackson say that Richie Valens was approached by the Guild but didn't want to be a part of it, so Red Mantle and Dragoon's first assignment was to murder him
i love the huge discrepancy between doc being 44 in 2004 (so born in '60) but a junior (underclassmen is freshmen and sophomore) in 1987, when he is supposedly 27 years old. PERSONALLY i think Jonas cloned Rusty many times. Sure, rusty could just be 27 and still going for his bachelors, but thats not as fun as the horror of him being kept a preteen for extra years. (and yeah, canon just say of his 44th year so it doesnt have to be 2004 buts thats where it lines up)
The way those guys work, I thought we had more time. Happily surprised!! More thought is put into the VB writing than ANY MCU or DCU project. GO TEAM VENTURE!!!
I still believe Jonas opened the bay doors. I think Vendata called his bluff and played the tape and Jonas out of desperation opened the doors, counting on Team Venture and the P.R.O.B.L.E.M. to bring him back.
I think it was Bud Manstrong. He probably wandered in and saw the blackmail tape and freaked out, accidentally or purposely opening the bay doors. Would explain his extreme reaction to anything sexual later in life.
Totally! My thinking was leaning more towards he's a necromancer and hasn't shown any ability to predict the future, which would've helped him out in a ton of ways, like his dissolving marriage to his ex-wife or the boys running away in the season one finale.
48:05 At this point - I'm loving the little slurry smiles that pop in and out. Drank along with this... what a great time 🎉 I NEVER missed an episode of this show. ❤ 😂 My favorite episode is the Yard Sale. Just everyone all in one place... yes.
This show taught me so much about failure and accepting yourself. Also that David Bowie lives in a package of cigarettes and can animorph into an eagle.
I came across the term "testicular torsion" a few days ago, for only the second time ever. It made me realize that i knew what that was, all thanks to Venture Brothers. So not only was it a wildly entertaining show, but also accidentally educational on occasion.
Fun fact, perhaps the most obscure David Bowie reference in Venture Bros is the name of the Major Tom/Action Man’s wife; Jean, or Jeanie, which is itself a reference to the David Bowie song “Jean Genie” from Aladdin Sane.
I really, REALLY wanted Kim to come back at some point, she'd have been a great POV character for a "how to become a henchman and why you'd want to" type episode lol
So one thing that I didn't see get noted that when Dr. Z and the Blue Morpho, is that he may not have had an encounter with the Blue Morpho, given even Z seems confused as to how Blue did the illusion. But this is an era in which a Shapeshifting Soverign is running around. There is a distinct possibility that recounting was a false flag for reasons unknown by the Sovereign. Great dive into the chronology of the series though, and the second youtuber I've seen risk trying a DocTale.
2:10 Action Man reminisced to Brock in Spider Skull Island "we'd swing to Cuba and Arch Castro for a couple of hours" I think Team Venture were Guild-Members
Fun Fact:, The Factory also included the Father of Robert De Niro and the Grandfather of Beck Hanson. (Both of which were talented artists in their own right.)
I look forward to the movie. The show left so much open. Hank going off on his own leaving Dean to worry about him as he just recovered from his injury. Dr. Venture and The Monarch half brothers? Oh so much left unfinished, and unanswered.
I just started revisiting this show for the 4th time a few weeks ago. This recap is so well done, kudos! I didn't even realize the movie has already been released.
I always thought Doe and Cardholder’s characters were meant to be a direct hat tip to the detectives in the movie Barton Fink. Same double act patter. Awesome video by the way, thank you very much.
I can see Hank as Scare Bear, he came during opportune times when Hank would've likely died or not known things. And if their main adventures involve time travelling (which explains why the adults are always so pissed off, I'd be too if my moments of rest were action packed enough to make a show out of) then knowing Hank's rogue-ish nature as he got older he'd likely use it to look out for his younger self since aside from Brock few others really looked out for him.
because we know from Seasons 6/7 OSI have Dummy Corp as a general shell company for public appearances, is it possible Mike Soriyama took a summer internship to build Billy’s original replacement hand we see in the Season 3 flashback?
I was hoping that this was updated after the movie. The movie talks a bit the Guild; you did mention Force Majeure, and that villain plays a big part in the movie. I forgot about the Big Bopper story! I forgot about Sky, too! I'm loving this video.
I know Dr. Orpheus wasn't too important to the time line, but I just wish he was. He's a fantastic character along with the rest of the Triad
In he's the most normal character on the show even while being a sorcerer. Everyone can relate to him.

Rusty Venture likely died after his months spent adventuring with the Hodji expy and Not-Mohammed Ali.
Since he doesn't remember them as an adult.
This show is beautiful.
only 5? sheesh maybe i should stop running this show in the background
IMHO, Rick & Morty have nothing on The Venture Bros.
This truly is a love letter to one of the greatest and underrated shows of all time. Go Team Venture!!
*we won't focus on Brick frog*
The movie: then we will
Rusty is not Rocket Impossible's father. Sally's urine indicated that she was pregnant, and she gave it to Dr. Venture the first time they met.
Fun fact: the house that the monarch moves to in Newark NJ is actually a real mansion. It sits on a hill, last I check it was still there.
I can still remember the night the first episode aired. I can't express how much I frigging love this show and how much I'm going to miss it.
It amazes me that I found this show when I was in high school and waited for each season even into my 30s
44:09 “I was conceived in the backseat of a Packard, you were conceived in a tank, so what?” Oddly inspirational.
The movie was excellent I almost cried at the end the monarch and Doctor ventures relation was the perfect end to the entire series
It was amazing, but totally ruined my theory about how venture brothers always come in threes
I didn't know it came out already!
@@kerdnerl I mean, there's always Dr. Quimm
@@kerdnerlRusty, Malcolm, and Jonas Jr.
@@ElRook watch the movie
Easily the best cartoon ever...I don't want to live in a world without this show.
can I has yer stuff when yer gone?
i’ve always sort of interpreted Jonas Junior as being the result of Rusty being a "slug", and that the original Rusty wasn’t carrying him around during his childhood
"The Nozzle" is 100% my favorite bit
doctor O didn't curse the Action man with a stroke. he just predicted when and how he would die.
Tru
Pretty sure the movie didn't say Rusty is a clone of Jonas, it said Malcom IS a clone of Rusty with baboon dna yada yada
@@Spubl you are correct but it still makes the Monarch and Rusty brothers.
Man, I got the complete series for Christmas and a month later the movie for my birthday. I love this series so much. Im a little sad it's over, but seven season and a movie that also sorta encapsulate nearly two decades of my life on a part of my shelf? I love it. I fucking love The Venture Bros.
Unironically id love an episode to episode breakdown. I love venture bros.
I’ve been watching this show for what feels like almost 20 years now man. It’s been among my favorite series ever
Bravo, perfect way to kick off a Venture Brothers Marathon! Go Team Venture ✌️
This show is incredible. Every character, every story that is deeper than you ever could know.
Doc did not conceive a child with impossible's wife. Rusty was given the UA sample before any potential involvement.
7:25 In the commentary for the movie, Doc and Jackson say that Richie Valens was approached by the Guild but didn't want to be a part of it, so Red Mantle and Dragoon's first assignment was to murder him
One of my favorite shows of all time. I love how over the course of the series you realize the real villain in Jonas Venture.
i love the huge discrepancy between doc being 44 in 2004 (so born in '60) but a junior (underclassmen is freshmen and sophomore) in 1987, when he is supposedly 27 years old. PERSONALLY i think Jonas cloned Rusty many times. Sure, rusty could just be 27 and still going for his bachelors, but thats not as fun as the horror of him being kept a preteen for extra years. (and yeah, canon just say of his 44th year so it doesnt have to be 2004 buts thats where it lines up)
this show is so underrated. i try to tell my friends all the time how good it is but no one tries it. thank you for making this video!!
damn, all those music references explicated and you jump right over the jam's "a town called malice."
Most crazy cohesive show ever......call backs on point, show could have another 8 seasons in 20yrs for all I care love it 😂
The way those guys work, I thought we had more time.
49:13...
Pretty sure Orpheus didn't curse the Action Man, he just knew it was gonna happen.
Just everyone all in one place... yes.
First off. Hats off for giving this show the shine that it deserves 👏🏾
I’m pretty sure the sovereign is dead. He was accidentally shot by the OSI in his eagle form as they approached his lair.
This show taught me so much about failure and accepting yourself. Also that David Bowie lives in a package of cigarettes and can animorph into an eagle.
I never just counted up how many horrible things Venture Sr did. Jesus...
The single greatest example of fan service in the history of time. I fucking love this show.
I came across the term "testicular torsion" a few days ago, for only the second time ever. It made me realize that i knew what that was, all thanks to Venture Brothers. So not only was it a wildly entertaining show, but also accidentally educational on occasion.
They literally made a “Cthulhu mythos”. I love this show
Go Team Venture! I was their since day 1. If every show was written half as well the world we be a merrier place.
My favorite show of all time.
Go team venture
2:10 Action Man reminisced to Brock in Spider Skull Island "we'd swing to Cuba and Arch Castro for a couple of hours"
I think Team Venture were Guild-Members
I give this timeline a 10 out of 11 - no mention of BrickFrog.
The Monarch showing up with smokes for King Gorilla always makes me laugh.
Fun Fact:,
The Factory also included the Father of Robert De Niro and the Grandfather of Beck Hanson. (Both of which were talented artists in their own right.)
So, Venturion / Vendatta, who is formerly The Blue Morpho (sp?), is The Monarch's father.
That f*cked up!
The Action Man being a violent psychopath is one my favorite jokes of all time
Three people voiced Dr. Impossible: Stephen Colbert, Jackson Publick and Bill Haider.
I HAVE THAT HOODIE!
Amazing video. I need to rewatch the entire series for the I-don't-even-know how many time.
where'd you get that hoodie? lots of folks askin in the comments.
@@blindmanai6957 My buddy got it for me for my birthday so I'm not totally sure lol
I look forward to the movie. The show left so much open. Hank going off on his own leaving Dean to worry about him as he just recovered from his injury. Dr. Venture and The Monarch half brothers? Oh so much left unfinished, and unanswered.
As a fan of Howard Bloom, knowing that he’s a component in The Venture Brothers universe TOTALLY MADE MY DAY!
Great catch! Literally just rewatched that episode this morning with commentary and the Barton Fink detectives get a quick mention.
This show belongs in a museum 💔
32:18 Not TVC Fifteen but TVC One Five, another Bowie reference.
Can't recommend the Steak Bentley video enough.
I think it's awesome you made this video, I recently rewatched the series in preparation for the movie coming out.
The single greatest show in history, done by one of the greatest channels. Noice!
because we know from Seasons 6/7 OSI have Dummy Corp as a general shell company for public appearances, is it possible Mike Soriyama took a summer internship to build Billy’s original replacement hand we see in the Season 3 flashback?
32:37 actually he never had sex with sally, thats Richards son
This show was loaded with dubious looking red headed children to mess with our heads haha.
37:53 bad choice of words to use when talking about Sgt. Hatred lol.
I will DEEPLY miss this series.💔
I was hoping that this was updated after the movie. The movie talks a bit the Guild; you did mention Force Majeure, and that villain plays a big part in the movie.
I forgot about the Big Bopper story! I forgot about Sky, too! I'm loving this video.
Wow - that had to take a lot of time to put together! I love this show!
I'm so glad you gave Steak Bently a shout-out!
Venture Bros. is an underated gem
Clearest telling I have seen. You got a lot of references that I couldn't quite place
Its so hard to convince people how great this show gets after season 1. So many people have started it without making it thru it.
28:46 I dont know if you just thought it was too obvious or felt it didnt need worth mentioning but thats Sgt Hatred before he goes full villain.
