  • The Cowmen of Florida were called Cow Hunters. This trailer from Cow Hunters of Florida will give you some idea why. It’s number eleven in the Vaquero Series. Filmed in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, there’s plenty of cowboy entertainment, humor and music in the full 104-minute documentary. This is more like we do it in Alabama. I spent a few years catching cattle for the public and getting myself in some pretty “western” situations lol. I learned and spent the majority of my time working for my family at a Stockyard we owned and catching and then hauling our customers cattle to the sale barn and then a load or two after the sale was done to some of the order buyers places. We had to sale out a few years back due to having to many hands in the pot after the passing of our family patriarch my Grandfather. I am afraid I will be stuck working for someone else if the price of property doesn’t change drastically and really if they don’t keep splitting up good pastures into subdivisions. I’ve thought about taking a job in Florida on one of the big outfits down around the central part of the state I found one day when I just google searched “jobs working in the cattle business or on cattle ranches” something like that. I just might but leaving your family and everything you know is a heck of a thing to do.

I got this DVD not even two weeks from the day I post this. The DVD is well made and has a few interesting historical facts about Florida that many people don't know (i.e. the original cowboy is from Florida). I would recommend this DVD to anyone who is into whip cracking (specifically cow whips), cow hunting or it's history, or I would recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to watch a bit of history in regards to this nations first cows, horses, and cowboys. This is a well made must watch DVD.
