    Great to see more material from you guys, trossachs are great aren’t they, great for mountain biking too! Loved the Milky Way picture in Glen Etive it’s amazing down there at night. I was the medic in Glencoe mountain rescue for 18 years, we often found ourselves down there at all hours, just no light pollution at all! I’m glad there wasn’t the normal camping detritus lying about in the national park. Glen Etive often has dreadful crap left by uncaring campers (in tents) who are just there for a drinking sessions, burn live trees etc, shame. Thanks for keeping us all going though we love your videos!

      Wow, now that must have been an incredible experience Ian, 18 years as a medic in mountain rescue. You have a lot in common with Claire! She is an ex RAF Medic. Yes, the 3 Loch Forest Park was incredibly clean and you could feel that there was respect for the area. I very nearly didn't include it in the video for fear of others watching, going there and abusing it, however, this channel is all about sharing.
      Many thanks again for the kind comment and I wish you well my friend. Take care and all the best, Tony.

    Hello there Tony! My husband just discovered this video, loved it, and shared it with me. What he sparked to is the drone footage of the river and falls. He filmed drone footage of the falls at Watersmeet in North Devon and I just published a video of it last Friday. We enjoy other British channels and travel channels, so I've just subscribed👍. I'm an American who lives in Texas but travels frequently to Britain... and loves British culture, animals, architecture, travel and food! Nice to meet you!

      Hi there Magenta, great to hear from you. I've just sub'd back as it seems like you're 'our kind of people' and having just watched 2 of your videos, see we have a lot in common. I love the drone footage that your husband took down the stream and of the falls. Looking at your video backlog, you've obviously a passion for Britain and I look forward to slowly working my way through your vids; it's nice to hear an American accent for a change lol. I have visited Texas many times with work and absolutely love your State; great people and amazing weather!! I especially loved the Longhorn cattle run out of the Stockyard, Fort Worth, what I can remember of it that is. Great day, great beer..... and great big hangover the next day.
      Anyway, many thanks for watching and for leaving the kind comment, it's very much appreciated. If you ever decide to visit the East Anglia region of England, please look us up!

    • @adventurevanfreddie
      @adventurevanfreddie  3 роки тому

      Hi David.
      We have 200w of solar wired in Series, 2 x120Ah leisure batteries, a split charge relay, 1000w pure Sine wave inverter. As for time between hook up, we do all our 'charging' either whilst driving or during the day. The only reason we really use a campsite is for the convenience of laundry and shower. However, we don't have a microwave on board and rarely watch TV when we're away. We mainly use the power for laptop, camera and drone batteries. To be fair, as most things are usb charged nowadays(low amperage), our setup is more than capable of sustaining us indefinitely. This Scotland series was over 3 1/2 weeks and we used a campsite once to do our laundry. I do have a trickle charger wired in to my leisure batteries so that if required, I can top up from shore power; I've never used it.
      I hope this helps, all the best, Tony.

    Great video. I see you drove down the Clyde coast to get to Dumfries. If you haven’t done so, you should explore that part of the country, especially the Isle of Arran, which is stunning! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures.

      Many thanks Robin for watching and leaving the comment. Yep, definitely have that in our bucket list to do. Arran and Mull were nearly explored during this adventure, however we did think it would be better to leave until next time we visit.
      Many thanks for your support and all the very best, Tony and Claire.

      Hi there Super Dog, many thanks for watching and for leaving the kind comment. Yep, I do worry when Claire's on uneven ground, she would be the first to say that she is a little clumsy lol. If you get the chance to visit Harris, we highly recommend it; a great few days exploring.
      The song is as you say 'Beautiful life' and is by Rain Jewels. Available through Epidemic Sounds and UA-cam my friend. All the very best and thanks again, Tony and Claire.

    How do you compare the Transit to the Peugeot? I have a VW California T5 and a self-build Citroen Relay, same as your Boxer, although your Boxer is nicer inside. Do you prefere the extra space while losing the manoeuvrability?

    • @adventurevanfreddie
      @adventurevanfreddie  3 роки тому

      Yep, absolutely. We had an old Nissan Primastar as our first van and it drove more like a car than a commercial vehicle. However, for us the space in the Boxer was 'game changing' for us. Not having to pull out and make the bed, not having to store blankets and duvets and being able to stand up to get dressed, and to do the cooking...... there is no comparison for us. Yes the van is a little bigger, but how many times do you really need to squeeze into a tight parking spot, not many. As you'll have seen, we've driven through some very small villages in France and never had an issue. This coupled with our photography equipment, we needed the space my freind. If someone gave us £60000 to go and buy a new van, we'd definitely go for the same size, not too big, not too small. L3H2.
      All the best and take care. Ps, the T5 is still better looking though.

      @tooyoungtobeold8756 3 роки тому

      @@adventurevanfreddie I meant Nissan, not Transit. We do have a pop top so we stand to get dressed and cook. But The Relay is like a little house.
