🔰 Download the LYT Kit here: www.linkingyourthinking.com/lyt-kit This starter kit is designed to get you immediately hands-on with ways to manage your digital notes. Experiment. Learn by doing. See what methods work for you.
On Evernote conversion (for Kevin). I imported my Evernote notes into Joplin (great opensource Evernote clone). This was seamless. In fact I use Joplin as my Evernote legacy system. Joplin has markdown export, which worked well for me. Now all of my old Evernote notes are in my Obsidian vault.
When I downloaded the LYT package it seemed quite complex. I think the reason is because of the numbers and the suggested categories don't resonate with me and my own categories in life. What do the numbers represent, why are they important, and how can I change them to suit my life? Are there some principles that I should follow or things to avoid? Thanks for your work.
No need to use numbers. That's just so the sort to the top. My #1 warning, caveat, and repeated message is to just start small and make notes. Use the kit as a reference
Under any note, find the "More Options" icon, then select "Open local graph." Then just move it to the right pane. Play around until it's sitting where you like it. Hope this helps!
I forgot who made this, but paste this into your CSS. /***************************************/ /* at a rule line before ul list */ /***************************************/ ul ul { position: relative; } ul ul::before { content:''; border-left: 1px solid #2c8ba0; position: absolute; } ul ul::before { left: -1em; top: 0; bottom: 0; } /* rule line when there are checkboxes*/ ul .task-list-item ul::before {left: 0.15em !important}
I'm just passively watching this, then looking at your MOCs, thinking it looks sleek and that Nick Milo would approve ... and then it hit me. LOL Btw is the LYT kit available yet? (Idk if this was asked in the video. I'm only a few min in)
Hahaha, yep same person, just on UA-cam now as well! The LYT Kit will be available in ≈7 days for public download. Best way to know when would be to join the email list or just keep your ears peeled on the Obsidian channels (the forum)
How can you have one note identified with many different writings of the same name? For instance, I want one note for "writing" but when I have the word "write", I want it linked to [[writing]]. Is that doable without create a second note for "write" and linking [[writing]]?
I'm new at Obsidian and Zettelkasten. The Zettelkasten method has several types of notes. Temporary, permanent, literature, index and overview notes. The temporary notes, I thought about using the Daily Note plugin, is that ok? All other types are a kind of "permanent notes". How can I differentiate them? Do you have some tips to me?
Why is there a need to distinguish so highlightly the difference between P.A.R.A. and LYT ACCESS approach, since you find a very similar (even extended) approach with M.A.P.S. (MOCs, Areas, Projects and Suport Notes), whether you apply it to your Work (Project Management as well... why not?!!!!) and Life or not (isn't Work part of our Life as well.... or we just use LYT approach from a philosophical and philantropical standpoint? I personally don't like this idea of diminishing Project Management activity as an activity where Knowledge Development (not just management) is not connected. I think there is a need to create these artificial boundaries between systems (or the Systems creation itself) by those who legitimately earn income with that.
If you states "P.A.R.A. makes zero sense to me.... " and then you find M.A.P.S. and A.C.C.E.S.S. , let's say... which is the sense of declaring yourself openly far from the folder-based P.A.R.A. approach?

Project management in Obsidian/Roam/Notion is just hilarious xD
It's not bad in Notion...
Would you mind explaining how you got the "graph" icon to show int he tags/backlinks tab?
Under any note, find the "More Options" icon, then select "Open local graph." Then just move it to the right pane. Play around until it's sitting where you like it. Hope this helps!

What are the 3 digit prefix of each MOC for? They're there just to show some numerical ordering? Any significance on their value or arbitrary?
sir can you please give full tutorial on how to use lyt fram work from the base
Could you please tell me how to use the vertical lines to show indent guide?
I forgot who made this, but paste this into your CSS.
/***************************************/
/* at a rule line before ul list */
/***************************************/
ul ul { position: relative; }
ul ul::before {
content:'';
border-left: 1px solid #2c8ba0;
position: absolute;
}
ul ul::before { left: -1em; top: 0; bottom: 0; }
/* rule line when there are checkboxes*/
ul .task-list-item ul::before {left: 0.15em !important}
It is already there before I paste it into the CSS.
Hmm...go to the forum to troubleshoot this. Friendly people: forum.obsidian.md/latest
Thanks for a great Q&A. What's the theme you're using?

Daily notes is a good starting point. obsidian.md/community
I wish there were an inbox plugin also. I miss that. The workaround is using Daily Notes plugin, but well you miss daily notes
