🫶🏽 I’m so glad you’re continuing series wipeout, they’re my fave!
Mine too
Mine as well!
Inspirational 🤩
yes! agreed 🤍
Meg dropping the info she is an '00 baby 🥺 Naur you're still so young! Don't worry 🤣
So excited for more Series Wipeout! Those were always great!! Your goals all sound good too.
how to train your gavin did an iconic Jane Austen reading vlog, so fitting classics into videos definitely can work!!!
Girl you’re so creative! I feel like even if I’m not into non fiction I watch your stuff for your creativity and brightness so I’d be happy to watch regardless
For the classics goal: you should try one of the substacks that are running this year! They give you little bite-sized bits of the books every couple of days plus a community of other people reading the same thing to help motivate you. There's one called Letters from Watson that's reading all of the Sherlock Holmes short stories over the year. It started on the first, and they've finished one story but there's still plenty of time to join and read the rest. There's also a Pride and Prejudice one that starts in March. I'm doing Whale Weekly and it's probably the only way I'm ever gonna actually read Moby Dick because it's so intimidating.
where do you find group reads like this?
That’s so cool! I’ve heard about the Dracula one and thought that was the only one; love knowing there are more to choose from! My husband loves Sherlock Holmes so I’m definitely going to encourage him to do that one
Good luck Meg! I have 85 books on my physical TBR and my goal is to get it down to 23 by the end of 2023. I also want to finish all of my current series before starting more. Let's beat our goals!
🫶🏼 hearing you panic about turning 23 this year makes me panic more with me turning 26! I literally feel like I’m still 21😅😅😅
My goal this year is to get my goodreads TBR down to 150!
Sherlock Holmes is mostly short stories!!!! And they’re fun to read! You can totally read them here and there in between books!
I'm trying to start my own booktube channel this year....I definitely read enough that I feel I can contribute something to the community, but that's my only real goal. I want to read more poetry, non-fiction, literature not in English (aka German), and translated works, but no specific goals within that. And I want to be able to read at least 15 2023 releases so I can make a proper top 10 2023 published books list. Thanks as always for the vid Meg!
Setting the goal intentionally low so that Goodreads can give you positive feedback is painfully relatable lol. I really just want to take a step back from Romance this year. Not much don’t be crazy lol but it is my highest read and probably lowest rated genre. I’m just a little burned out from it. I’ve also made it a goal to read 1 nonfiction a month and I really want to meet my favorite author this year. She has a new release coming out in May so fingers crossed! 🫶🏾
🫶🏻 other video ideas for this year could be more beginner videos for other genres like sci-fi, fantasy, thriller etc. and if you want to keep with the murder mystery genre you could graduate to intermediate and advanced levels with suggestions ☺️ would love to see videos like that!
I'm turning 29 this year and you're like I'm turning 23 omg. Like girl I feel that existential panic
🙌🏻❤️ (I don't have the emoji 😭)
For 2023 I was inspired by your wipe-out series and decided to finish most of the series I'm in the middle of.
Audiobooks really help getting into classics! There is a full collection of Jane Austen on audible (40hrs ish) which is a great deal for a credit 🥰
I started reading classics outside of school by reading Anne of Green Gables - super quick read as it's a children's book but it holds up on vibes alone 🌳
This was such a great video! I think my goal is to finish 5 book series lol
🫶 I love goal-setting videos! These are always so motivating! The only goal I had was to read 80 books and I surpassed it by reading 90, making 2022 my biggest reading year. Wishing you the best of luck for the upcoming year! Can't wait to watch the videos!
Queen of Mondays!!! 🎉
🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 i LOVED your history of celebrity books vid and the solve a murder mystery w me video omg they were my fav this year so they should’ve done better!! 🤍🤍
also girlie i feel you i turn 24 at the end of this year and im already not having it😅😅😅😅😅😅
You feel old??! God! I feel old. I just found out you were born in 2000!!!!! Oof. I was born in ‘87! 🫶
i knew there was a reason i liked you! we’re both aquariuses from 2000! wow :)
Looking forward to following your reading year, Meg!
That video where you solved the murder mystery glueing photos of famous people on the wall was hilarious. I watched it twice. I want more 😁 Also, I love the booktubers battle series
Not all of them classics are long! Some of Jane Austen's are actually pretty short. Little Women looks thick, but that usually the font. It's a great read for Audiobook. Anne of Green Gables is also a fun, quick one. You can definitely find some shorter classics.
Lol. I'm 35 and still don't feel like I'm an adult
Lovely video. You came so close to your goals you should be proud
This is how I learn I don't have the heart hands emoji 😅 Just seeing a lot of yellow squares in the comments. Good luck with your goals!
Christie is classic 🙌 Queen of Mystery, yes please
I didn’t realize we were the same age! Happy early birthday and good luck on all of your reading goals!
love love LOVE your stats videos! 🫶🏻
I found your channel in 2022 and your videos bring me so much joy! I hope you have a good reading year! 🫶
Sherlock Holmes really isn't that long and you can read some of the short stories (they're by far my favorite classics).
loving any and every new beginning is IT. mondays are way too underrated!
“Some of you are new, so I have to repeat stuff, GAWD!” 😂😂😂
“I’ll be turning 23, I’m getting old” Now I know how my parents feel when I complain about turning 33 this year 🤣
Meg I just love your videos! They always put me in the best mood you're so FUNNY!!!!!
🫶 I love setting my reading goal lower than I know I can and probably will achieve so I think it's cool you're doing that too! It's always really satisfying to be x books ahead of schedule or getting over 100% of your goal. Rather than just barely achieving the goal it feels like getting a gold star on top haha
also I hope 2023 is a much better year for you!
if it makes you feel better i was a master at reading non-fiction in 21 and only read 6 in 2022!! It was a bad year for that
I love the series wipeouts! Can't wait to watch!!!! ❤❤
This year’s goal is to try and get out of my reading slump. I only read 27 books which I normally read 80 or more
for classics, the first sherlock holmes book , a study in scarlet (which is WEIRD) is very short : the audiobook is about 4 and half hours long and there are many many short classics like northanger abbey by jane austen . Also agatha christie books are classics some of them are over 100 years old.
Good luck, Megan! My reading goals this year are to read 36 books (one more than my highest) and also to read at least one page every day 🫶
Loved this video! Looking forward to following along during 2023. I was in Tescos and Spare was there and staring me in the face and I mean how could I not? How could I not? Did I also promise myself to not buy any new books until April? But I’m British so it’s practically required reading sooo🙃
wait a second, your birthday is on january 28th? girl, me too!! wtf. it's so bizarre cause i know 3 ppl irl whose bdays are also on Jan 28th xD 🫶
Tuesdays are the worst day of the week honestly
🫶🏻 love ya Megan! I want to read 140 I think
I’m 35 and still don’t feel like an adult. It’s okay.
Ooof, non-fiction is definitely my least read genre… I read 1 last year 😂
🤝 I don't have the heart hands, but the hands shaking looks a little like a heart lol. Girl I'm 33 and still don't feel like an adult, which is fine.
❤❤❤
💓

🫶 I always set my Goodreads goal much lower than my actual goal. I set it at 52 again this year hoping to actually get 104 or more - same thing I did last year.
this was fun! 🫶
I’m living for how confused you are in this video 😅
🫶 ❤❤❤
Oh man. This is such a bummer. One of the many reasons I have historically loved booktube is because it’s generally free from diet culture and ED triggers. Seeing you partner with Magic Spoon is so disappointing for me.
did I achieve any of my reading goals? doubt it
Last year I set myself the goal of reading 50 books (which is a lot for me because even though I feel like a read a lot I never surpassed 20) but because I was finishing my bachelor's I finished 41. So this year my goal is to finish 50 again, also to create my bookstagram (and hopefully one day my booktube), last but not least I'm in a book buying ban I have at least 50 unread books that I bought in 2022 (who else stress-buys books?) so my goal is to read the majority of them (it'll be easier to read from them because I bought them all recently). Also I got into the habit of doing spreadsheets to track my progress because of you lol 🫶🏻
I love watching people look back on their goals. I tried to prioritize more new releases. I find that I am excited for a book and then wait too long and lose interest. I read about 30% 2022 releases so I consider it a success. 🫶
The celebrity books video was so good and it should have more views 🫶🏾
I’m exactly the same when it comes to positive vs. negative reinforcement- I need GR to be telling me how awesome I’m doing to make me want to read more! 😂🫶
My goals for the year are to read 50 books and not give up on my booktube channel 🫶🏻
My goal is to read 50 books this year. I read 55 books last year and didn't read much at the start of the year so I think I can easily surpass it! 🫶
I lowered my goodreads goal to 72 a month. I vowed to DNF more too. So far I’ve DNFd 2. I’m trying to mostly read from my owned shelves and lower my number. 🫶
