If you like old fashioned westerns then you will really enjoy this 1964 movie with James Mitchum (cut out of the same block as his father, Robert). This is both a classic good-versus-evil story and a really good shoot-'em-up within a well fleshed-out story line. The picture quality is remarkably good but, while the sound quality cannot be faulted, the musical score feels wrong - it has a quirky, comic twist that often seems to trivialise the mood of the moment. This, though, is more of a comment than a criticism of this fine western.
In every western theres some guy or girl cutting wood with an axe yet you never see any chips flying. They did have saws back then which are far more efficient at cutting downed trees and logs.
If they hang that boy, well now, that's murder.. Unrelated, we see here a contrast between intelligence and fools.. hehe.. But then, the Creator of all our souls says, never call anyone a fool. That includes those of us who are.
