This looks SO different than the pictures online! Online shows a navy, two pink-leaning shimmers, and a neutral taupe. Very disappointing. I love your positivity to note that it is a companion palette, but for $69, the palette should present online as it does in person.
Yeah I’m happy with my purchase overall but definitely disappointed that there isn’t the blue and pink shades 💙
The blue does come across camera as a metallic dark blue. The pink can only be seen on reflect. That being said, the picture ND posted for this palette is totally misleading. The ONLY reason I purchased the larger palette is for the shades of pink, blue and taupe in addition to the greys and silver shades. The pink, blue and taupe are just not as pigmented as the picture would have you believe. In the future I will wait for the review before I purchase any more palletes from ND or anyone else for that matter!

Yeah I’ve learned ND promo pics pretty much ALWAYS are misleading. They always look different from what they end up being. Like the I Need A Nude palette, in the promo pics, it looked like it was cool toned, well neutral leaning cool toned. But it actually ended up being extremely warm. I don’t know why they can’t just take photos that show how the palette ACTUALLY looks. Like, brands should ALWAYS work to ensure the photos of products represent the actual products in real life as closely as possible. But way too many brands do not do that! It’s like they try to make it look better than it does or make it look like what they think people want. But I don’t know why they couldn’t just make a palette like they show in the promo pics instead of falsely making it look like that (hope that made sense 😂). It’s so annoying when brands do that!
@@CherylFennerBrown108 agreed! I don’t get why they can’t make the palettes they know people want - I figure they know since they make their promo pics look like it! And definitely agree ND is way too overpriced! I have Colourpop Blowin Smoke and it has the same colored mattes + 3 shimmers and I can use shimmers from any palette to pair with it. I don’t need to spend $69 for a few mattes I already have and a bunch of boring shimmers…I’d rather get multichromes with that money 🤪

Colourpop's Blowin' Smoke is an excellent grey/white/black, mattes and shimmers, companion palette, if someone wants those options for their collection with a more affordable price point.

Both eye looks are gorgeous! 🩶 The blue was definitely showing through on camera when you were putting it down. It started to turn more grayish once you added the outer corner shade.

@@HeatherAustinmakeupThe way we perceive shades is often different. Sometimes when somebody describes a color as a shade of blue, I might see a shade of green or vice versa. 🤷♀️ Like the phrase goes: “De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum”, “There is no accounting for tastes and colors”. 😉

As a cool-leaning gal, I'm still super excited for this, although a little bummed the blue and pink aren't as bright as the website. However, I'm thinking I'll pop out a couple of the grays and replace them with Edgy and Vision (the dark purple and purple/green duochrome) from My Dream to create a little more of a versatile winter palette.
I was definitely thinking about adding in that multi chrome from my dream as well! I've already switched some of the shades from my dream into the I need a nude so I could get warmer looks with it!

I got mine from Ulta...ordered Sunday and got it on Tuesday. I was shocked. And it came in amazing extra packaging for Ulta (an extra cardboard box and wrap). I know it's boring but I'm SO excited for the palette as a cool-toned person. Excited to see the looks you create. :o)
I’m not positive, but I think the extra packaging and wrap is how Ulta receives palettes direct from ND. No matter the retailer I purchase ND palettes from, they all come like that.
@@Jennifer-uc2oh That’s what I was wondering but it’s interesting because some people are getting them with this and some aren’t. So maybe sometimes Ulta workers remove the extra packaging before shipping?
@@sandy5791 given how I’ve received a lot of my Ulta packages, this wouldn’t surprise me. Same goes for Sephora orders as well. No disrespect, but the folks packing these items don’t seem to care if things arrived broken or not. But then again, maybe the distribution centers have strict rules on how many pieces of packing sheets can go in a box? Not certain. But I do think the packaging you refer to is courtesy of ND, not the retailers.
@@Jennifer-uc2oh I was actually wondering if ND doesn’t want to replace broken palettes but Ulta doesn’t mind. Lol The Mac packaging is worse! I ordered a palette and they literally shipped it in a paper envelope with no protection. The first one had a shattered mirror and I thought it was an anomaly but they shipped the replacement the same way. 🤷🏻♀️😆 These companies have so much money, it doesn’t matter to them about skimping on packaging?
I want to try this palette! Also I love that I can mix and match my Natasha palettes so I can just add some pops of color to it and create my own cool toned Smokey goodness color scheme.

It actually does look slightly blue on camera and a slight pink in the pan and reflect but overall, yes. It’s a frickin grey palette. All grey all the time. Could have been 5 pans. Beautiful looks as always though! 🤍🩶🖤🤍🩶🖤

I really like this palette. It’s a nice departure from nudes and mauve. I’m sure most of us mix our palettes anyway. I think it’s a perfect companion palette.
😬 theres not enough mattes or transition shades. I see a lot of silver that could have been switched out. Idk i might still get it in the future but definitely on sale. I collect quite a few and i can see this one being a good companion to the others I have

I got my palette today (it really was fast shipping) and like you, I bought it as a companion palette. I love grays and blacks, but I admit I was a little disappointed that the shimmer with pink was just a touch of pink. That being said, I really do love it and can't wait to use with my with ND blackest black eye shadow single.

This palette is so pretty, I can't wait to get it as I love smokey eyes and blacks/greys, the shimmers look lovely. I do have the mini xenon, which was my first ND palette ages ago, but I still want to get this for all those lovely shimmers. Thanks for doing looks and reviewing :) I can see how this palette targets a much smaller audience than say, the Glam or the Nude ones
It’s funny because you’re the second review I’ve seen on this who say they two don’t see pink or navy but when you were showing the palette like at an angle, you can see like a pink hue to that one particular color that’s supposed to be a shift of pink. Also, that first color you put down that supposed to be like a navy I do see like a bluish gray tone but definitely not navy. I think because it has so many grays every shade pulls off as a different shade of gray/silver. Now that I see both cool tone palettes I will definitely purchase the glamlight cool tone palette since I too pull olive and can’t completely pull off gray looks.

Totally agree! The pink is more obvious at an angle. I noticed it on Morgan Turner's as well, when she turned her head I could see the pink.
I’m a very cool toned gal, so to me this palette is beautiful. I do agree that it is a companion palette. I have some multi chrome pigments from Nikkia Joy cosmetics that would be a stunning addition. Love the eye looks you came up with! ❤

The ND website does not say “blue,” it says “gray blue”. And if the shadow in question isn’t the very definition of gray blue, I don’t know what is. 😂 It looks exactly as described to me. 🎉

Blowing smoke by colorpop is this exact pallet plus a true black. I was going to get this but i have watched a lot of reviews and I’m going to stick with my blowing smoke pallet
I removed the bluelight filter in my phone to look and it does seem like on camera there is an undertone of blue going on but its not like a baby blue turned grey or blackened navy. Suddenly blending grey out with baby blue sounds fabulous though...
It all looks bluish to me 😂😂😂 I love the overall cool vibe and color story, but was hoping for some more variation in the shimmers... think we all did...you know, icy pink, icy blue, icy lavender ... so that you can do different looks with different outfits.
I also have the Lethal Wildflower & Nightflower palettes, so I can go in there for pure navy and icy pinks I suppose!

I thought both looks were very stunning, and Iove how you wore a beautiful black outfit and silver earrings. After watching you and 2 other people use this palette, I am scarred to death. I actually bought this palette even though i shouldn't have, but because it was so different I couldn't help myself. Thank goodness, ULTA takes returns, cause I have a bad feeling I'll be returning it.

I bought this palette because I had a gray palette that I wanted to replace. This palette is comparable. I am disappointed that there’s not a matte black, and I’m disappointed in that pink shade. However, I have matte blacks in other palettes that I can use with this one. So, you’re right, it’s a good companion palette. Sorry for the dissertation.😂

Yes, it’s blue, lol! Ebb looks very blue. It looks blue in your swatches and looks blue on your eye. No one sees the blue and all I see is blue, lol. I must be wearing blue tones glasses, lol. Even Snowbow has blue reflect. I don’t really notice the pink, but it’s like a very light blue almost purplish tint blue so maybe there’s a little pink giving the blue that slight periwinkle tint. Even Nightsky, I popped it out and made a quad with other Natasha palettes/shades, and it looked blue! It looked like a dark navy. On me, I know it says it’s a metallic black, but it almost has a dark navy tint to it. But I swear your eye looks blue (your still on the first eye look right now.)
Honestly, I think that if a person used a white base with the sparking pink and/or those gorgeous silvers would help the undertones of the shades to pop, The same applies to the dark colors too, Try a black lid shadow or primer for the midnight blue undertone. Think of the pink as an undertone. ;)

Thank you Heather for your review. you always do amazing looks and explain very thoroughly . I got mine in the mail from Ulta and was very disappointed for the amount of money. I shouldn't have to pop out shades to put in to make this palette work. it should be a stand alone. I might just get the small compact one but I will definitely be taking this back. I should have ordered it directly from the ND site because Ulta's packaging of stuff is terrible. I'm shocked it it didn't come shattered.
After all the reviews I have seen I'm thinking this may be the very first Natasha Denona return that I make. Maybe once I get it in the mail I will love it but how unfortunate if I don't!

I received my palette today and in person the "dark blue" does appear as a steel grey. Overall, I agree that I will get the most use from Xenon as a companion palette. I am already imagining using Love and Retro with it. Heather, the looks you created are beautiful, but they are very similar. I agree that it lacks versatility.
This palette makes the Glamlite Ghost Face look colorful. I'd much rather have Ghost Face than this one.

Honestly, I’m disappointed now seeing it in real life (instead of product pics). I feel like it needed the navy, pinks and neutral beige. I’m glad I went for the ghost face palette instead

I just got this in the mail. The way it swatched on me, actually looked very different than on you. Color theory is interesting. On my complexion, the pink does show. However, the issue is not that it's muted, but the base lacks pigment. Had it been a pigmented and muted pink, it would be beautiful and more noticeable on deeper complexions. I only made 2 looks but it definitely had variation for me. This palette is either an all or nothing- so it's for you or it isn't. I think there's a palette out there that hasn't been made yet, even if it had a lot of grey and silver, that could master this color palette better. This isn't the jackpot tbh, which almost makes me consider returning it. But the quality is beautiful. the shimmers and different textures did show on me, which is what tempting me to just keep it bc wow. I'm a bit shocked it looked good on me, but maybe that's bc I never had a greyscale palette. I do plan on getting the Pretty Grunge, and I feel like I'm going to favor that more.
For reference, I'm South Asian (Pakistani), neutral-cool. Some foundation shades: Dior Luminous Foundation 2N, and Mac Serum Foundation NC17 (maybe not the right shade). I'm between a Soft Summer and Soft Autumn (leaning summer, but in denial, especially about having cool tones).

I ordered it Sunday to catch the 20% prestige coupon last day on Ulta and got it today. Can’t wait to go out, it’s gorgeous! I have sooooo many palettes and nothing like this. I do not have the mini though. Not a fan of minis I have a bunch and never use them.

The only way this palette would be useful to me is popping out a few of those grays and replacing them with pops from other palettes. Maybe the trichrome blue one might give this more oomph

The way you feel about this blue is how I feel when people call a dirty brown or gold green. I don't see green at all. Maybe if I mixed paints or something to get that color but I just dont think so.
Also. This reminds me of Sigmas blueberry quad. Not blue. At all. And unfortunately I'm not a fan of a gun metal grey on me.
Edit to add: I did actually like gun metal grey on me with blue mattes or shimmers added in when I used Tartes Christmas release last year. There are no supoorting blues her though. But ya know, I'm sure there will be people that this is for.

I’m not a fan of grey eyeshadow, but I ordered this palette because of the pops of color and I never got the mini Xenon palette. So disappointed that there isn’t any pops of color and that the pictures on her website are different from the actual palette. I will likely return this when I get it.

I’m waiting for this pallet to come in the mail and I am a little disappointed. I don’t understand why they would make a smoky pallet and not have a dark matte black in there 🙃.
Seeing the promo picture vs reality was a " 😐😐😐 " moment. I expect the promo pictures to be what I'm getting or else i consider it false advertising. I truly wish she added a deep navy and the pink because that would make it much more versatile and exciting. I was excited to grab this and now I'm just a little bit taken aback and disappointed

I was so excited about this palette and did something I never do. I ordered it before watching reviews. It’s not here and I’m already planning on returning it. I’m a cool tone girly and that’s a grey scale not cool tone 😒

I love ND's quality, but I'm getting real tired of her lying to us with the promo pictures. Now, the Huda grunge palette? That might be a better option.
It looks blue on camera but I have the palette and it looks Grey to me in real life so idk what color it is lol

I don't know.. I love Natasha Denona, but her last few large palettes have fallen flat for me. I have been craving a gorgeous cool toned palette.. we got grey! Why? It seems like such a missed opportunity. If it stays around long enough for me to buy it with Ulta points, I might pick it up. I keep thinking I can picture this palette with the quads from kaleidos. Now those are my kind of cool tones!
I could see the blue but for me is a gray blue not a navy and at the end the dark gray in the other eye looks the same as the "navy"
The pink is visible only when moving the palette (like a duochrome) but I don't saw it at all on the eye. The only shade that seems really different is the taupe one... so for me it's a no, maybe I'll buy the mini but not this one

Looking at you do the first look, all I see is variations of grayish bluish colors. 😒. I’d rather get the mini xenon.

So strange... she says she cannot see the blue, no blue, and her eyelid is pure blue... Actually Midnight Blue is not daylight blue, but close to black..

I ND pallets, but will skip on buying this. I think the mini will give me the same affect.. my opinion. But love the eye look… beautiful
To me, the mini looks incredibly yellow and olive green. This one is blue blue and iced pink. Lol I bought two of this one. 😊
I disagree that color you keep saying isn’t blue, it’s o me it absolutely looks like a dark blue! I don’t see slate at all. I’m confused how you don’t see the blue.
