Man I backlashed so bad two of my rods, back to back because I couldn't feel my thumbs I was on the kayak it was about 28°. I decided at that point to take my purple hands back to the boat ramp 😅

Lol.. my father just asked me if I remembered a time when we left because we couldn’t hold our reels anymore right before I read your comment. I said it’s unforgettable when your hands hurt more than leaving a school of big smallies. I stopped using reels with aluminum side plates at all in winter after that day. Carbon fiber feels a million times better than cold metal.

When you’re struggling to punch the button on your bait caster with both hands you know it’s just not meant to be that day😂 at least that’s when I call it quits! Anyone else ever have to use both hands to start the truck?😂

Hey Mikey. I ordered 2 of the Thunderhawk “silent” models after watching the video. Spring craw & the gold black back. When I got them I took both out of the box. The red one sounded like a one knocker & the gold one was completely silent ( I was of course holding the hooks & split rings). I messaged Thunderhawk & he said the bait had a weight transfer system that I was hearing? But the gold one made no noise? Anyway he sent me another spring craw. Same thing sounded like a one knocker. All the boxes said Silent model. I sent the first one back because I didn’t need another one knocker & wasn’t looking for a freebie. But any I’m 1/2 disappointed. Are these dudes completely Silent like the Gold one I got or does the weight transfer cause a knock or come loose?

Mickey, that was a real smart video. You are a wonderful teacher. It was cold, you figured out what the bass wanted and where they were at. It took your knowledge to understand the right presentation and the right lure. That is why you catch fish and others just try and don't. Remember back when you were a lot younger and you was fishing the big "O" and they were having a tournament. The Pros were pitching the reeds and you were back behind them watching. You changed to a larger creature bait and set them bass on fire. You slam Dunked them. I enjoyed that video. You had noticed the Pros were not catching them on the same small creature bait as yours. So, you went to a larger bait. that worked. BINGO. You see Mickey, this is why we want you to just stick to your style of fishing and showing us old guys how to do it. Now you know I fish near where your parents live and I know I won't be fishing Guntersville. But lesson learned on presentation. Don't spend the money on the big tournaments and just taking the chances and weather conditions etc. Oh, fish some of those local tournaments and win them so you came get that out of your system. Bet my drift Bro. Keep the videos coming.

“Bog look out, look out bog…” dog doesn’t flinch. He’s there for the show bro. Nice day out fishing on some of my favorite early to late spring and fall time LMB baits. For smallies i keep it simple and on the bottom (also miniMAX was MADE for smalls and spots) you HAVE to see the smallies I’ve been catching on the miniMAX- 4s and 5s and they hit it like they’re OMG so mad 😡 at it. Thanks for the videos bro, forever Grateful…dead

Thanks for sharing your new trap! The best day I've ever had on the lake was back in 2013 in mid March, a buddy and I were in Douglas Lake crappie fishing and we caught our limit in less than 2 hours, it started warming up really quick and he as if I wanted to go after some bass, so yes I most definitely did, anyways long story short, I don't know how many we caught that day but our 5 best went a little over 28 lbs, not one bass came out of any water deeper than 5 feet, every one came on a trap. Different ones we checked 5 different kinds and caught good fish on everyone. Other than going down to Toho, I got family that live there, the trap in winter up through early summer is one of my favorite ways to catch them! Stay warm! Semper Fi from an old Marine

Luckily here in Florida bass hate could weather more than i do so i don’t have to worry about missing out on the fish when it’s freezing outside … that being said I did just return from a 13 day to Norway and we did go ice fishing for Arctic char … it was only -15 that day and since it’s Norway in January its pitch dark by 3pm so we were ice fishing in the dark. Luckily the Alaskan huskie we had with us knew the way home …. Nice Unicorn Bogg !
