    If arc interrupted at current zero condition then prospective voltage goes to zero ...becz prospective voltage = i√L/c ..thus at current zero method I goes to zero so prospective voltage goes to zero ...so chances of arc restrike minimise...but if arc interrupted at non current zero then there will be possible to developed prospective voltage ..becz at non current zero current does not goes 0.thus in between contacts of CB increased the electric field grater than dielectric strength of that medium thus dielectric breakdown occured and arc may b restrike ...
