The botanic gardens are free and the famous orchid garden is only a few dollars. The only people there when I visited on a weekday morning were the gardeners.
My trips to flower dome and cloud forest were taken on separate days and i even visit a day segment followed by a night segment at each park. Yes the current prices are inflated due to the Avatar experience.
Because of the Avatar experience, ticket prices for the Cloud Forest is higher. Annual pass members had to top up $15 for access. My advice for tourists is to get the bundles. The Flower Dome changes it's floral displays every season. Otherwise, just enjoy the rest of the Gardens, it is free. Also the Jurassic Cafe is a food court near the Super Trees, that you can get local food cheaper and more nutritious than McD.
We LOVED the super trees and thought they were so cool. Yes we feel a little embarrassed about getting mcdonalds but we needed something quick. We do a HUGE food tour though at some of Singapore's coolest hawker centers which was awesome. That will be out in the next video :)
honestly speaking, locals would prefer to visit the Botanical Gardens (free entry) over the Gardens by the Bay (unless there's some special event, eg sakura festival)
We can totally see that! the gardens by the bay was cool but we loved all the free places to walk through around singapore. so much natural beauty in such a mega city. amazing!
I just subcribed ❤ I love Singapore been there like a hundred times. It is very expensive but I love how clean it is. I love how you two explained the places you visit. Traveling truly is my favourite thing to do in life. Keep it up you two so happy for both of you ❤
The attractions found in the city of Singapore, starting from Changi airport, the places you guys visited thru your vlog looks very cool and modern. The local street food scene is supposed to be very good and where locals love eat. Take care and be safe.🙂
We actually ended up doing a huge food tour in Singapore and checked out a bunch of hawker center's. The food was UNREAL! That video will be coming out soon :)
Pro tip: if you want to save money, don’t go to Starbucks!! Buy a local coffee for $1.50. Starbucks is bougie coffee that’s not even very good. Also, eat at hawker centres!
@@nicoleandmico I’m all for guilty pleasures :) also, McDonald’s is not embarrassing! Imo McDs in Asia are much better than those in US. You should try the McSpicy if you have the chance. No shame in eating at McDonalds at all.
@nicoleandmico may I ask what camera/drone are you using to get the fisheye 'look back' shot that you got at 10:43 on the skydeck? I've seen you use it limited in some other of your videos.
Hey there we use the Insta360 X3. It's a 360 camera that digitally makes the selfie stick look invisible. It takes very cool and interesting shots! Hope that helps 😊
@@nicoleandmico Thanx for the content and the reply! I c that some who use that 360cam also use a 3meter selfie 🤳 stick. Did u find any restrictions for selfie stick use at the top of the Marina Sands Hotel or when u were at the Taj Majal?
Loved this video guys and I am happy to know that it's not really worth the extra money for the avatar stuff....we've heard its much nicer the trees and free light show from a few others too. We'll be there in 2 weeks! We're excited!
FYI... every flower, plant or tree displayed indoor in Singapore should be real. It is implemented by law that every structure should have a greenery in them to replace the greenery that has been removed to build the building.😊
First time watching your content as it popped up on my recommends! I'm a local and don't worry, I also think that the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome aren't worth the price, lol. I think it's super cool to have the light show free. Hope you guys enjoyed the day and Singapore very much.
We absolutely loved the lightshows and all the cool free things around the city. There's no shortage of cool places to visit that require no entry fee. We didn't hit them all so we're excited to go back already!
Yes using the ezlink card can save you some money per trip, especially when you change train to train or bus to bus or both. Certainly you can use credit card to tap but there's forex charge too so might be abit more paid per trip. 😊 That round structure you see is actually the Apple store. Think you miss some Avatar stuff 😅 hmm the domes probably good for one time experience, but there are plenty of free nature parks or gardens for ypu to go to in SG. 😊
Whoa, the price went up quite a bit. I was there in 2019 and it was 28 bucks US then. I liked it as I got to see plants and trees I'd never seen before or have only seen in nature documentaries.
Yes in some ways but not in others. We would say it's easier to stick on a budget in other places but 100% it's possible to travel all these cities in an affordable way. Awesome place!
Agreed with Felix totally. Don't understand why Western medias always love to portray Singapore as the most ( or one of the ) expensive city in the world. Besides those cities Felix mentioned, cities like Melbourne. Sydney, , Zurich, Wellington & many more other European/American cities are way way more expensive than SG. Food/transport costs are definitely very much cheaper in SG than in those other countries. I travelled alot , including those countries mentioned above. So I know what I said is right.
Bus or MRT subway, it is the same fare price when you use Visa card or a prepaid ezlink card, fares are the same from 90cents up, so don't need to spend to buy a prepaid ezlink card as it cost extra $5 for the card
Do note that you can use virtual credit cards set up on your watch/phone as well, but remember to use the same device to tap in/out, as each device has a different virtual credit card number even if they are set up from the same credit card (i.e. do not tap in using credit card, and out using phone, you will be charged double)
Singapore is probably one of the most expensive in Asia but not in the world . As usual media has distorted idea of Singapore being most expensive city in the world .
The EIU report that puts Singapore as most expensive city in the world is actually meant for C-level executives planning expatriate budgets. But this report has been commonly misused and misrepresented by many (intentionally and unintentionally) to show that Singapore is super expensive.
It definitely doesn't have to be so much! In general we spend usually under $70 a day for two people. A little bit more if we do more activities outside of sightseeing but normally transportation, food and accommodation can be kept relatively low if you're flexible with time. Shorter vacations are a little harder to manage though but still doable (especially the food part if you find the right Hawker centers!)
Its up to us. Ehat ee like. Ive bought seversl snnusl memberships of d gardens but have only drunk starbucks once. Too bitter compared to our local coffee. N never been to universal studios. Hope u find some food that suits u. I dont find mcD affordable. Just had black pepper beef with rice 5.50 for dinner.
We found the food scene in Singapore to be so awesome. We ended up doing a huge food tour and we have to say that the food is WORLD CLASS and amazingly affordable. The flavors, the ingredients, the spices, soo delicious!
McDonalds are overrated. I would choose subway n kfc.. also theres thousands of hawker centres n coffee shops around the HDB estates across SG u can get $5 meals..
The botanic gardens are free and the famous orchid garden is only a few dollars. The only people there when I visited on a weekday morning were the gardeners.
We have to visit that next time! Sounds amazing
My trips to flower dome and cloud forest were taken on separate days and i even visit a day segment followed by a night segment at each park. Yes the current prices are inflated due to the Avatar experience.
I ate at MCD too while at Gardens by the Bay. I did take a look at the menu of Shake shack.😢

Good thing about Singapore on a budget plenty of free things and light shows to see and cheap food at Hawker centres have fun
Such an amazing city and is more affordable than people think! We loved the Hawker centers too. AMAZING food! :)
You can use your credit card for your MRT and bus rides.

My mouth is watering just thinking of that! We have to go back haha
You did not go up to the top, Lost World, at the Cloud Forest?
O no we didn't see that part! What did you think of it? Even better?

Can be even cheaper but good try and pretty good considering it's tourist Area and can indulge in your comfort food like Starbucks n mcd 😊.

Exactly. Haven’t these people been to Paris or Switzerland where lunch for one is already $30-$40?
That's interesting? Maybe as a visitor but we found that cost of living is much higher (e.g. buying a car we found was $$$$)
Yes we have and you can do those places on a budget too

MRT/Bus include card US$15 easily for both, Mutabak cost US$7.5, Biryani US$6.5....
Thanks for the info! It's not hard to find affordable food if you know where to look :)
Just do thorough research and go to the slight more heartland areas... and eat hawker centre, take public transport... i am local
Yes we'd love to explore more outside the main city!
yummmm
so goooddd!
