Nah, they knew weeks before it was made public and from the little I've seen, Kara is pretty amused by this. She expressed in the past that being on a team with Chilled would be fun.

@@anupampeter3456 mb just saw this! but gold isn’t exactly the most durable ore to use for tools/armor compared to iron/diamond. the enchantments weren’t really that great either iirc
