Every year I ask Santa for a minute off my 5K time, but much like the raleigh chopper I wanted as a young fella, I'm still waiting

I’m not under the illusion that everyone is restricted to my tiny Christmas budget… but a Watt bike 😂. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one… 😂
P.S. rest of the suggestions are great. As part of a running family it feels like everyone always has everything… except a Watt bike lol

Trust me, my budget isn't that either. I did explain that I'd ask for it for the next 5 christmas's and birthdays combined. But y'know - some people do these things!

@gillbla I couldn't run for 2019 and 2020 due to a rare medical condition. I also couldn't use an outdoor bike since I would lose strength in my arms and sometimes couldn't steer or brake. I got a Taxc Indoor bike and when I returned to running after two years I immediately took 2 minutes off my 5km time. Combining running and indoor cycling since then I am now sub 18 minutes for 5km at 49 yrs. Certainly works!

An alternative to the Watt Bike is the Concept2 Bike ERG.
Cost is only $1100 and it has a 5 year warranty.
It's made mostly of aluminium so only weighs 53 pounds making it easy to move.
It broadcasts as a Smart Trainer power cadence etc. I connected to my Garmin watch and use its suggested power based workouts.
I've had it 1.5 years and rode 200 hours. I'm very pleased.
I agree it complements my running. I like it for recovery.
The Watt bike probably has more features, but costs 2.5x more. For the same money you can buy the Bike ERG and Row ERG.

May be a bit too much about a Watt bike 😂

Sorry...that was always going to get me blacklisted 😂 ...I'm still a fully commited runner, I promise! I was just surprised how it actually helped rather than just being an injury -crutch . But yes very very much an 'if I win the lottery' situation.

Waffles are disappointing but Veloforte are amazing, great overall suggestions

Strong disagree. The waffles are ace. Work well when you roll into an aid station after 9 hours of running and want something with a different texture to bars, sweets, chews, bananas, bread and all that stuff.

Do you guys did something reasonably priced? Most of all these products are out of the reach of the average runner. Sorry, i love your page but this segment doesn't cater to all runners.

@@TheRunTesters apart from the sportswatch which I acknowledged can be on the steep side...IF you want indept features surely there must be earbuds around the £50 range that can do a good job as well as books, gloves, windbreaker etc. All within the £50 range. You guys are the experts so there must be something out there for us without deep pockets. My honest opinion and thoughts.

Buy cheap and buy twice/three times/four times when it comes to things like headphones or watches or heart rate monitors. I thought there were pretty good sub-£50 recommendations (books, gloves, gels, creams, bars), it's just not worth recommending certain products (especially electronics) below a certain price as you'll be gifting something that isn't going to get used.
