Love how you present a real artist. No over editing, no branding. Here's the real time experience in plein air. Uncomfortable, some struggle, and yet so satisfying and fulfilling. A lesson for life overall.
It is very difficult to paint on the sea shore. Breeze sound we can experiencing while watching video. Balance, concentration, mastery over brush strokes, perspective in all over painting was mind-blowing. Thanks a lot. Nice painting.
Love your dog laying on the sand!! Happy as ever chilling there. ...Shirley, this was an awesome video. Beautiful setting, beautiful painting and it was fun to see you do plein air.
Hi Shirley new kid on the block here love you video I was looking I was observing you work and thinking about a fact about the different points of view from you there and me here looking at the screen and the difference between humans mind thanks the creation for not all bean on the cookie jar love you work and color selection
Lovely video Shirley. I know only too well how testing it was for you, keeping in the shot, balancing the pad on your knees, water on the ground, palettes balancing on the ledge. You pulled it off admirably though. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful painting with us. I love the immediacy of Plein air and am a regular painter of it, also in watercolor. There is something about the struggle that makes me feel proud when I can pull off a Plein air painting! Love your work!
Thank you for the video Shirley-love the brush you used and painting looked great. I love painting on the beach-sound of waves, seagulls etc., hubby fishing. Working quickly and loosely. Enjoy the trip and look forward to seeing more paintings of beautiful Tassie.
Wow you have a new subscriber here I love your style and I love the fact that you don’t show off very Expensive brushes like a lot of people do And the fact is That you can have the most expensive brushes but if you don’t know how to use it that does not make you and Artist And this video Prove my point you just have Friendly budget brushes and you made a beautiful painting I love it ! Thank you
I think your painting turned out wonderfully, I especially liked that big brush and how easily and confidently you varied your strokes with it, lovely to see you doing watercolour again AND how you approach plein air painting, thank you
You made that look so easy, with excellent results. So stimulating and exciting to watch how you can master those colors and design. Thank you for sharing your keen artistic ability and narrative of what you are experiencing. Beautiful! Blessings. PAM
Professional watercolors are not like oil, but they are still toxic, I would not pour them onto the ground. 😳I take the dirty water home and pour it into the sink so it goes to a water cleaning facility and gets properly handled.

Loved this video. The way you use a big brush with some quick strokes to make such a beautiful painting is amazing.
Thankyou Leeza. I love using this brush.

Thank you Pam. I appreciate your comments.
Shirley, are you still doing videos of your painting as demonstrations really enjoy them and would love to see more.
Dianne McShane
Not at the moment Dianne. But thanks, I'll consider adding them in to the schedule.
I'd like to be there with you. I'm in the UK so not much chance.
I like how you tackle your paintings - brave. Thanks Shirley.
Thanks Richard. UK is the king of beautiful country views. I can't wait to travel there!
Love this. Just bought a big brush but I've had a strange fear of it. Lol. Watching how you use it is helpful.
They are very easy to use. They stop you fussing!
I fing it frustrating that paper is not supported by a small eisel. Wobbling on the knees is always odd.
I'm definitely getting my easel out for the next one!
Did you start as an oil painter? Or acrylic? Just curious.
At art school we used acrylics in the 70’s. But I was already using oils from high school. So, both!
Professional watercolors are not like oil, but they are still toxic, I would not pour them onto the ground. 😳I take the dirty water home and pour it into the sink so it goes to a water cleaning facility and gets properly handled.
Thanks
