With only a GED you're put into the tier 2 category below tier 1 which tier 1 applicants have a hs diploma and the highest tier you can get therefore the highest chance and priority of getting in. You have around a 5 percent chance of getting accepted if you're in tier 2. However that can be lower since its peace time and if you score low on the asvab (minimum is 50 for GED holders) However, you can still get into tier 1 with a GED, by going to college. You have to get at least 15 college credits however this number may vary depending on your ASVAB score.

Ended up failing but I took the hiset social studies and passed with 14/20

I've been close, social studies 141/145 RLA 140/145 math 138/145. have yet to try the science. passed all practice test 150ish

You can get into the marines with a GED? Last recruiter I talked to said you had to have a high school diploma, and they didn’t accept the GED.
