  • The Japanese brand Toyota has expanded its model range with the Crown Signia crossover, which is based on the sedan of the same name.
Toyota's new Crown Signia hybrid-electric crossover will go on sale next summer, joining the Crown sedan in the company's US portfolio.
The only powertrain available is Toyota's Hybrid Electric Vehicle system, which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. It has three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. Eco maximizes battery range and fuel economy, while Sport improves throttle response.
The system produces 243 horsepower and the manufacturer makes electronic all-wheel drive standard on this model, with a rear-mounted electric motor driving the rear wheels. The crossover can tow up to 1,225 kg and has a continuously variable transmission.
Thus, the novelty will become the 19th electrified model in the Toyota lineup for the United States.
Toyota will offer the SUV in five colors: Storm Cloud, Finish Line Red, Oxygen White, Black and Bronze Age. The interior colors of the seats are yellow-brown or black, available in both configurations.
The new model comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, full speed dynamic radar cruise control, traffic sign assist, automatic high beam, and more. An optional advanced technology package is available for the Limited with lane departure assist and a panoramic view monitor.
Toyota said the 2025 Crown Signia will begin arriving at dealers next summer.
