Meg's part sounds really off, it's as if the VA didn't quite understand what the motif was supposed to be. Well, at least they fixed it in the episode version.
If I had a nickel for every long-running cartoon using a Christmas song they'd initially written for different media in an episode, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
This one IS the 1st version bro lol. This song was made years before the 2nd version on the christmas episode. I remember being surprised and thrown off when they rewrote the song, crazy times man 😂
If you had any clue you'd know most of all the traditions of Christmas have nothing to do with Christ. Only the name itself. So really it's Christians who are strange for celebrating Christmas since we know Jesus wasn't even born on that day, you stole the whole thing.
@@toondreamer4438 oh ok, I thought you’d heard it before and came back to it. Do you like the version from the episode better? this is the studio recording from years back. It was on a CD years before they updated it and put it in an episode.
was probably a lower budget than the show so they just used a midi. they usually use midis as temp tracks as placeholders before the full orchestra is brought in

This desperately needed to be redone. Such a fantastic melody and arrangement, I'm so glad they decided to redo it in 2010
I'm so glad they redid this
Brian has the best voice in this
THANK GOD THEY REDID THIS!!!!! NOTE TO WOODY ALLEN: Originals are NOT ALWAYS the Best.
This definitely sounds like it’s from classic Family Guy. Pretty rough but I still like it.
Starts @ 0:39
Much better than the recent version 😄😄😄

olserknam Mila Kunis refused to sing

God, Chris' voice is horrendous.
So that high note was a brown note.
I downloaded it when it came out years ago. Long before they did a remake for an ep. I will post the lyrics as soon as I can
12 years later still waiting😂
Nah I’m kidding bro
@ they’re in the description.
@@DawnofComics oh nice, thanks
2:02 Meg sounds like a little girl singing out of tune to the song like one of the live children's songs
I think I like the original lyrics expect for everything Stewie said.

What is the other cartoon to do this?
SpongeBob had a Christmas special in 2012 that used the song that was initially played in an album in 2008
And they both premiered in the month of May 1999

This is a good song of all i really want for christmas 2nd version although i prefer the 1st version especially when it has anyone singing

good :D
Why would Brian wish anything for Christmas if he's an atheist and Christmas is a Christian holiday
Phillis Hannah l The Mind Bender same reason atheists take the day off work. They want free stuff lol
It being a Christian holiday won't stop non-Christians from celebrating it.

Is this featured in a episode? I'd like to hear the two versions like on Disney lol
This is taken from an old audio CD. A few years after this was changed a little and put into an episode but it’s not the same version.

Yeowch. Thank god the episode did this song WAY better. Lois sounds friggin hideous in this version.
And also, it's a full orchestra backing them up, and not a crappy MIDI synthesizer. Family Guy deserves better than that.
where did you get the song?
It was on an old family guy album I had.

I agree Meg is terrible
I finally found this, but it wasn't that good.
Haha maybe you remembered it being better than it was.

You misspelled "Christmas". Please fix it.
Pmsl 🤣 no one noticed for all these years. Cheers mate
Meg was terrible
What year is this from?
2001
is there a music video for this?
☻Here's My Opinion☻ yes but it’s a different version and all the family guy cast
Why is this orchestra synthesized?
Nick Werner no idea buddy.

Meg and lois were God awful and Chris is ok this is why I like the newer version
I think the newer version sounds better but I like the lyrics more for this version.
