I am a Dyslexic, and this video was emotional for me. I could barely read and write growing up, the school passes me on, when I was 15 my mother and stepfather force me to quit school, telling me I was too stupid to learn, I was needed to watch my siblings. as I grew up I did not have anyone that believed in me, and I believed I was to stupid, after all, I was told that. Life has not been easy but I look at Dyslexia as a gift I am thankful for. Be determined!!! Never give up on your dreams and believe in yourself!!!

Wow. This resonates with me so much. When I was a young girl my father always called me stupid. In school the speech therapist recommended i see a specialist but I never got to.. in high school I struggled so instead of my parents getting to the bottom of the issue, my mother pulled me out of school. She had been threatened truancy charges and so all my life I struggled and thought I was stupid or damaged some how and now I know I'm not. I'm sorry about what happened to you but it made you who you are and you are incredible!! Believe in yourself and your dreams will come true.

Episode Interactive Yes I dedicated the last 10 years to improving my reading and writing. I still make many mistakes but spellcheck is my best-friend lol. I was always considered lazy or not trying hard enough in school. I only started excelling and performing when I finished college and it didn’t matter how you spelt something, but it was important if you were making the company you work for money. I’m very good in building and manufacturing custom pieces that run on any types of heavy vehicles. Now I work for the government and build/manufacture/repair public heavy vehicles. Film making is my second job. None of my teachers believed in me, and I was always talk down on because I supposedly wasn’t trying hard enough. I'm 75 and teaching machanics to a 5year old. I've been learning everything about his dyslexic and I found that I am Dyslexic I started my own business and lived a great life once I got out of school. Thank you.
I am 51 and just found out I am dyslexic, I loved this please do more. I sobbed when I found out, after years of feeling inadequate, watching my children struggle the same way with no diagnosis. Now my Grandson was diagnosed. Im grateful to understand all this. ❤🙏 such a huge weight lifted.
This was very beneficial to me. I am 81 and I found it encouraging and helpful. Please continue to produce more of this. I did not know I had dyslexia until I was in my late 40's. Thank you for the information.
Total of 247 days of school and I have suffered my whole life with this ..it explains so much !!! Now I just need to support so I can learn and be able to work im 52 its never to late to learn
Thank you so much Evan. This is very emotional... My daughter is 10, dyslexic and bilingual (French & English). We discovered her dyslexia after she moved from an English school system to a French school system. She has been struggling for 3 years having to learn French, which I believe is a very difficult language to learn. After being labelled, laughed at by her peers, shouted at by teachers she is now broken and have very dark thaughts. My daughter is very artistic and no one seems to value that at her school. Very tough... We are now in the process of bringing her back to a school system that is more inclusive, tolerant and encouraging for children like her who have special needs.
Thank you so much for this. I struggled all my life. The struggle never goes away but, I never gave up. I have to work 10 times harder than most people. I cried through college but I completed my master's degree. I'm a Care Manager and my job consist of a plethora of paperwork which I hate but, love the part that allows me to Advocate and encourage others.
Glad that the video have a positive impact to you james. :) I hope you will not let any challenges stop you from #Believing in yourself. Much love. #BTA337 Shine
My son who would be 12 just got diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia yesterday evening after we got his testing report. he's an amazing kid and want him to excel I whatever he loves. He would be attending remedials with a specialised teacher to help him get thru this. Thank you for your video...pls continue to give us parents the boost we need to help our dyslexic child.
I just wanna say thank you! I am third generation of dyslexia on my father’s side. I know for all three of us and all points of our life we had never really excepted dyslexia as a whole I know my grandfather never did, but I know I have been reading books and dyslexia the last month or two and I want to thank you because this video really was a nice add a treat that I needed to embrace my gifts and not find any shame or just being wrong, but I just am! Thank you!

You genuinely made me cry. I have dyslexia and is so challenging for me to even try to get a good job. But at the same time I believe having having dyslexia is a blessing from God. Because of it I think different I see things in a different way.and the only go and passion to have in life is to be an entrepreneur. This video really made me feel. Thank you for creating this beautiful magnificant video
I've heard that learning Latin or Greek has been proven to be able to change things really quickly to improve dyslexia. Makes me mad at past me for not learning it when i first had theorized as a kid that it would help me. Especially since i was always interested in etymology too. But i will be finally pushing myself to learn both next year! This upcoming year i also have many goals that i know will help change my brain. I was diagnosed really late in life with ADHD and being on the autism spectrum, though i dont have a proper diagnosis of dyslexia i had another auditory processing issue growing up they felt they'd corrected but i've since seen a decline as i've been out of practice and reverting back to how it was as a kid and its not exclusively an issue with b/d and 9/p anymore but full on mixing of letters and words which i know is dyslexia. I just dont have the time or resources to get a diagnosis but i deeply explained things to friend also neurodivergent and they said that they just got diagnosed and that i explained it to a T. Lol so.. yeah like the other things i've been diagnosed with i already have put it together, only now i just dont care to have a doctors confirmation and just want to work diligently to improve how my brain works. I believe in our abilities to change! 'i used to always struggle with math, down to telling time on a clock with hands' but i will be conquering my fear of maths this year! As well as learning IT from newb level. So i wanted to share a bit about my story and the findings i've come into. I also think learning how to read music might help and am doing that this year along with some modern languages before next years Latin and Greek endeavor. Wish me luck! And i wish you all the best too! I'll let you know how it goes I'm committing publicly to these things as much as i can right now to push myself to stick with my aspirations to help others see that they can shoot for the stars! I believe in you! Whatever it is you need to do to get to where you want, you got this!!!
I really didn't fully acknowledge I was dyslexia and had challenges until last. year at age 55yrs old and just cried hearing everyone sharing their experience. I have to read things 5x, can't really follow written directions, recipes and can only take in a little info at a time before my brain short circuits. But yes very imaginative, musical and create lots of spontaneous songs. I teach percussion. I still work extra hard for the business side of doing this.
Me too so sad that God 😢 For the adult literacy council where I learned how to read.❤❤❤❤❤❤ it was hard but I am so glad I put in the work to learn 🙏 nobody can take that way for me XOXO
The world was a boring place till dyslexic people showed up and change the course of it.I'm nott famous but i am proud dyslexic.we are the original one's
I'm 26 and dyslexic, I suck at everything, fail at everything, and have no idea wtf I'm doing in life. Family hates me, people judge me. I just laugh at all my haters, but still think I'm getting nowhere in my life.

I discover that I had dyslexia just after 40s but because I was always very confident, I did"t mind feeling different. I remember how great was to look back and see the reason of my attitudes and ways to learn and now lucky I was to manage it without knowing or no special support. Yes, it is a superpower!!
Glad to know you liked it and I hope it inspires you - that anything you want to do you can pursue, you have the advantage. :) #Believe Much love. #BTA335 Shine
Being dyslexic is not a burden I'm severely dyslexic its a superpower. fundamentally it means you think differently and the people who think differently, are the ones who change the world.
Thank you for this. I just found out I am dyslexia. I’m 63 and decided to have a full evaluation. I guess I always have known. After accepting this I will start therapy. It has been a long challenging life. Thanks
Its crazy how i use to struggle reading and writing and my mom didn't have much knowledge about dyslexia at that time😊I know for a fact that I'm gifted

I never forgot telling my mother that I couldn't read. So what did she do to me , she had me read in front of my grandmother and sisters and they all laughed me . That stayed with me forever. I widrewed from everything and everyone. The people that are supposed to help you actually make your life hell.
This was awesome to watch. I wish it had been done when I was a kid because it would have helped me realize that I wasn’t the only one going through it. I’m in my thirties now and in College going for my Bachelor degree in Studio Art. For years I believed the lies other people put in my head, like I was just dumb and that some people are not made for College. As an artist I believe it’s my responsibility to encourage everyone and exploit the truths that people don’t want to see. I do this through art. Everyone! And I mean everyone! Has potential and purpose.
Just been diagnosed with Dyslexia at 61yrs old, as Im struggling at university atm, i wish i knew years ago instead of feeling not good enough.. I hope the support I get from now on will help me achieve in getting a psychology and counselling degree
Thanks Evan for raising the awareness of the advantages of dyslexia (something I have been running workshops on for while). Hoping videos like these will help more dyslexics and people with neurodiverse needs to obtain the roles/positions/opportunities they want. Another great series Evan would be great if you could do a #nolimit on autism too #dyslexic #dyspraxic #autistic
I hope that too Ruth-Ellen, if more people will share the video, there is higher possibility that more people would be helped by it. Thanks for the suggestion and more power to you! :) Much love. #BelieveNation #BTA334 Shine
That's a very good information because I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was a kid right now Ebony being 44 years old I'm still dealing with this problem and I'm good at a lot of things is this the the big stuff is hard for me to maintain but the little things I can do sometimes it made me feel down
I am now seventy. At the age of four or five I was locked in the headmistresses office because she thought I was lazy. I was in tears and wanted to go to the loo. At that young age I had to cope and so I peed in her desk draw. My father was livid with her and she was forced to take early retirement . I have always been able to think outside the box. But now I do business deals and not pee in draws.
You don’t understand this video has saved my life. Before watching this I felt helpless alone and frustrated I found out I was dyslexia late in life I’m 29 and found out when I was 28. I’m sure there is some one like me on here all I can say is stay stong and you will found a way.
I remember Margie Golick. She was one of my learning specialists. I liked the fact she used card games in a way to build words. One thing I found it gets easier as you learn to deal with stuff.

I have discovered at the age of 32 that I am dyslexic. This discovery has happened recently and I was crying. When I was a child I couldn't remember times table my biological father told me am stupid I don't know time tables. I never understood math, am slow reader and I have trouble memorising. Now am amazing with guest relations in Tourism, I am a Latin American dancer and I am very smart just different. Never let them tell us we are stupid.
as a dyslexic i can say that yes we keep things simple , often finding the best path straight through that nobody else noticed . I can read fast but do like to take my time and had had teachers note that i comprehend very well . With i little extra work you can learn to read and write at a normal level , some spelling mistakes here and there but reading at normal levels slow down though as i tend to want to skip ahead and not retain information . I have seen non dyslexic people a lot worse than i was ...a lot worse .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience Daza. Glad that you never put a limit to yourself despite any challenges. :) More power to you! Always #Believe in yourself. #NoLimits #BTA569 Shine
Im lucky its quite mild, im very low on the spectrum ,it was worse but was spotted as soon as i started school at 5 and leveled off at mild after a couple of years of doing extra work , flash card etc... I suppose its harder when you are first starting to read . Some teachers forgot i had it and gave me grief about my punctuation and odd spelling mistakes as they knew i was intelligent and thought i was being lazy . To be honest i think some of my teachers didn't event know i was dyslexic. Im 42 now and a few years ago did three years of tec to get my diploma in music production and performance and it was about half way through he first year the tutors noticed something , even with spellcheck its still noticeable and looking back may have been the reasons why i have missed out on promotions to jobs im very capable of doing ...ah well I have leadership skills but have no interest in being in charge , I prefer to work for a living lol.
Evan, your video is very powerful. It is important to show those people who overcome the condition and became successful and now they are inspiring others. However, I believe associate SUCCESS with overcoming any disability something restricted to a small number of people compared with the universe of people who have dyslexia. I prefer and suggest to talk about how to SUCCEED instead. I am telling this because I found out that I have dyslexia seven years ago when I was 42 years old. The reason is that it affects me learning language. English is not my first language and although I live in the UK over 13 years, I am still strugle. I never had communication problem in my mother language. Nowadays, I put aside my dreams, plans to do what I am good (despite I don't like it very much) to built my life with almost 50.... Congratulation!
I wish I could get rid of my speech impediment and dyslexia. People look at me like I am.... retarded. Hate it. Even my husband and in-laws and peers. Maybe, I just need to keep studying and continue to grow.
as a dyslexic entrepreneur i needed to watch this dyslexia is a gift but people label it as a 'learning disability' it shouldn't be labeled like that are brains are wired differently we learn a different way it should be that we are at a disadvantage to learn the way normal people learn not that its a disadvantage i consider dyslexia a gift and this video really touched a nerve with me it really did i think most dyslexics suffer from poor self esteem and we should bring this more to light its tough going through school thinking your stupid i genuinely thought that it made me feel sad i failed in school i worked really hard to be a c student dyslexics in school are at a huge disadvantage its really sad and it messes us up because we feel stupid that we arn't good its reallly damaging for kids and people with dyslexia the school system is rigged against us but ive always felt im more creative than most people and its quite evident from the video dyslexic people have a gift are brains are wired to be more creative than ordinary people we thrive in certain areas its crazy to think :)
When i was at my first school i was hugly disruptive to the point i was told to sit in the corner with my back to the class . i had a circle drawn around the chair etc . i was one of the few children that had to hold the teachers hand when being outside ..i then went once a fortnight to see this man and sometimes a woman who taught me how to break down words so that i could prononce them . i left school with no qualifications . i wouldnt say that my problems have in so many ways gave me succes , which i am glad of because this kind of pursuit causes ruin among many peoples lives .i would say however that i am now creative in lots of ways and like the man said they dont give up ! i have lots of scheer determanation . i finaly would like to add that my dyslexia has to an extent given and still does me lots of interresting expieriences ,and i love being different , and not one of the countless sheep out there .. heehhreehhree..
Thank you thank you! thank you!!! This has been one of the most meaningful and powerful resource I have seen. Please continue to focus on this subject. The school system i n the USA is light years behind where it needs to be on this issue. All of the interviews were deeply meaningful. Henry Winklers was the most for me personally. Please keep them coming. I want to explode this video to every educator!
I think in every country in the world should have assisted technology for adult people with dyslexia help read and write mandatory. In school, All kind of libraries, courthouses, State House, government buildings, trade schools, organizations that help you find jobs, Banks, credit union colleges.
Thanks for sharing your story. Hope you are able to bring her back to school system :) #BTA1266 Luka
Thank you so much for this. I struggled all my life. The struggle never goes away but, I never gave up. I have to work 10 times harder than most people. You're welcome 😊 #Believe - Feb (from Evan’s team)
I'll let you know how it goes
I'm committing publicly to these things as much as i can right now to push myself to stick with my aspirations to help others see that they can shoot for the stars! I believe in you! Whatever it is you need to do to get to where you want, you got this!!!
Thanks for sharing and we wish you all the best. 😊💛 #Believe - Feb
Thanks for sharing, much love. 😊💛 #Believe - Feb

I'm 26 and dyslexic, I suck at everything, fail at everything, and have no idea wtf I'm doing in life. Family hates me, people judge me. I just laugh at all my haters, but still think I'm getting nowhere in my life.
Do not let what other people say and do to you decide for your future, think of something to do that would make your feel happy and satisfied. 😊 #Believe - Feb
True I don’t give up. If someone tells me I can’t do something. I pursue it harder.
Keep it going! :) #BTA1205 Luka
I discover that I had dyslexia just after 40s but because I was always very confident, I did"t mind feeling different. I remember how great was to look back and see the reason of my attitudes and ways to learn and now lucky I was to manage it without knowing or no special support. Yes, it is a superpower!!
Appreciate you for sharing. :) #Believe - Feb

I never forgot telling my mother that I couldn't read. So what did she do to me , she had me read in front of my grandmother and sisters and they all laughed me . That stayed with me forever. I widrewed from everything and everyone. The people that are supposed to help you actually make your life hell.
Sorry to hear that from you, sending lots of love. ❤ #Believe - Feb
That 'no limits' concept would be such a hit especially given that your audience are continuously after affirming that belief!
Thank you for sharing with us and thanks for watching. :) #BelieveNation #BTA738 Luka
Thanks for sharing your thoughts :) #BTA1300 Luka
Ty you gave me some hope. I do struggle with dyslexia struggling my whole life with it.

Thanks Evan for raising the awareness of the advantages of dyslexia (something I have been running workshops on for while). Hoping videos like these will help more dyslexics and people with neurodiverse needs to obtain the roles/positions/opportunities they want.
Another great series Evan would be great if you could do a #nolimit on autism too
#dyslexic #dyspraxic #autistic
Ruth-Ellen Henry-Ovid keep going
Thanks for the encouragement Dimz77
I hope that too Ruth-Ellen, if more people will share the video, there is higher possibility that more people would be helped by it. Thanks for the suggestion and more power to you! :) Much love. #BelieveNation #BTA334 Shine
That's a very good information because I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was a kid right now Ebony being 44 years old I'm still dealing with this problem and I'm good at a lot of things is this the the big stuff is hard for me to maintain but the little things I can do sometimes it made me feel down
Glad you liked it. 😊 #Believe - Feb (from Evan's team)
Glad to hear you stopped doing that, lol! :) #BTA1326 Luka
You don’t understand this video has saved my life. Before watching this I felt helpless alone and frustrated I found out I was dyslexia late in life I’m 29 and found out when I was 28. I’m sure there is some one like me on here all I can say is stay stong and you will found a way.
Thanks you for sharing love and positivity Leon. 😊 #Believe - Feb
Please do more of the dyslexia awareness and emphasis on it being a strength. Advice on where to go for diagnosis would be helpful.
Will do #Believe :) #BTA1570 Veljko

It's quite possible that some teachers are not aware of it but you made it through and you keep going. :) More power to you! #Believe #BTA572 Shine

Thank you for sharing with us, Gustavo. Never give up! #Believe #BTA960 Luka

great video. for future topics maybe talk about introversion and speech impediments. those were my battles as a child
Good ideas!
I wish I could get rid of my speech impediment and dyslexia. People look at me like I am.... retarded. Hate it. Even my husband and in-laws and peers. Maybe, I just need to keep studying and continue to grow.
Thank you
You're welcome 😊 #Believe - Feb (from Evan's team)
as a dyslexic entrepreneur i needed to watch this dyslexia is a gift but people label it as a 'learning disability' it shouldn't be labeled like that are brains are wired differently we learn a different way it should be that we are at a disadvantage to learn the way normal people learn not that its a disadvantage i consider dyslexia a gift and this video really touched a nerve with me it really did i think most dyslexics suffer from poor self esteem and we should bring this more to light its tough going through school thinking your stupid i genuinely thought that it made me feel sad i failed in school i worked really hard to be a c student dyslexics in school are at a huge disadvantage its really sad and it messes us up because we feel stupid that we arn't good its reallly damaging for kids and people with dyslexia the school system is rigged against us but ive always felt im more creative than most people and its quite evident from the video dyslexic people have a gift are brains are wired to be more creative than ordinary people we thrive in certain areas its crazy to think :)

I think in every country in the world should have assisted technology for adult people with dyslexia help read and write mandatory. In school, All kind of libraries, courthouses, State House, government buildings, trade schools, organizations that help you find jobs, Banks, credit union colleges. I believe we got far in with helping dyslexia people but not enough for the adults that's dealing with it everyday
