This game definitely had the most evil sounding soundtrack. Every stage felt desolate and hopeless, like something was gonna come get you and you had no escape from it. And then way the AI worked, that was an accurate mood.

Once you do, run over to him and, with proper timing, hit an uppercut when he gets up. The thing with Kahn is that he always responds to being downed by performing another move as soon as he's on his feet, and since all of his moves require a little 'wind-up,' if you practice the timing, you can repeatedly spam him with uppercuts as soon as he gets up. The trick is to wait for him to get all the to his feet before throwing the uppercut, otherwise he'll block it. But if you let him get all the way up first, he'll instead try and do a kick or a punch or something, and you'll hit him before it can fully turn-over. But the window between 'he blocks it' and 'he kicks you in the face' is very narrow so, practice is a must.
These were the best ost for MK due to exactly what you said. I remember these ass beatings like they were yesterday the whole time these songs play. The relentless AI is so memorable i actually fight like it now.
I personally think the OST of Mortal Kombat 4 did a good job doing that as well. Though personally I fell Deadly Alliance later *perfected* it all. The music, levels, lore, character designs, and overall atmosphere. In DA there is this constant sense of hopelessness, dread, sinisterness, and mystery in that game. The only levity in Deadly Alliance being unrelated unlockables and Johnny Cage's bits. Even with all the bad stuff going on throughout Deadly Alliance, there's also the constant foreshadowing to this "Dragon King" which implies things may get even worse. . .
