Thanks for posting. I have this on VHS so difficult to watch anymore. I saw this at the Met not long after this film was made. They had the brass in the front parterre boxes, and the experience of hearing the fanfare performed this way with seeing the dance with its evocative choreography, wonderful backcloth and beautiful costumes (I swear, it looked like they matched the dress and the underskirt to the coloring of the individual dancers, it's a little hard to see that here) was an experience I will never forget. By the time they got to the partnered grands jetes aI the end, I was sure I was seeing a glimpse of Paradise.
Thanks for posting. I get really emotional watching this piece because it inspired me so much as a young teenager, I just knew I wanted to dance after seeing this LIVE when ABT performed this at Lincoln Center in 1998. Please download Savedkha! Thats my favorite!
Might be nice to credit the amazing talent that we just watched. Who were the dance artists? Why do we know the choreographer, musicians and dedications but no mention of the actual artists? After all, they are the art.
