This movie is an interesting take because in the game, Afton puts on the suit to hide from the spirits not realizing that the spring locks would fail. In the film, Afton decides to put on the Golden Bonnie head as he's dying showing that he's embracing it. He's fully aware that his spirit will live on in the animatronic since the kids did so he makes sure to put on the head to ensure that it happens. That's a true villain right there.
