I really like your videos but I can't hear English very well. If your videos have Vietnamese subtitles, it is a priceless gift to me. Thank you very much
Wow I had the volume potentiometer replaced on my Marantz a couple months ago by a great shop in Happy Valley Oregon called Inner Sound. The replacement cost about 90 dollars and came with a warranty.
AH, can’t wait to see this receiver when its all done and playing music after seeing how badly it was abused. Enjoying the repairs/parts replacements, and testing along the way!
I always repurpose odds and ends when I replace stuff. That would make an attenuator for a pair of super tweeters.i finished up a CA-1010 last night. Tired today. TonyB has a great vid on potentiometers. Thanks for the video.
Nice score on the NOS pot. As always, an informative and entertaining video. Hoping to see more of the XJS soon. It is fully Spring here in Oregon, 64 today, replaced the power brake booster and master cylinder in my 5.0 Explorer today.
I have a question I really hope you can answer. I recently bought a newly minted replacement volume pot for a Marantz 2270 off eBay. The seller told me… “There were several versions of this pot used in your unit. Some had long shaft, others short. I will ship you a long shaft, in case you have a shorter one in your unit, you can always trim it.” Does this sound accurate? Did the shaft length of the volume pots ever vary within the Marantz 2270 line? Because the one I received seems excessively long.
I always learn by watching your videos. I have a question not exactly about this topic, but about Japanese 70's receivers and recapping. On average what is the cost to replace all of the capacitors in a typical receiver ? Just looking for a ballpark number, and I know that you usually buy in bulk so please answer the best you can. Maybe just focus on Marantz 2230 and 2235B as I have both and both are bone stock. Thanks in advance....
Nice job .! I want to replace mine aswell. Its the same pot. But on a 2238. But i was looking to make it a Motorised one with remote.. But i can not find a good solution. Any ideas??
Ive been watching your videos and learning a ton. I have a big problem with a Sansui AU-7900 ive been working on. Are you an AK member? I would love your input on it in the forum. Ill do anything I can to save this thing. Look up Sansui AU-7900 Barn Find. And again, thank you so much for your channel. Its the only way to keep the hobby going.
I love watching your informative videos - your pacing is good, the information excellent, you are knowledgeable but humble...keep it up. You have just the right balance of electronics nerd and teacher, never talking down to us but never jumping too fast, assuming we already know something. I have two Marantz amps in my possession now, one has a wooden cover. I need help with something I cannot seem to find here on UA-cam: How to remove a wooden cover! I cannot seem to get it off...I am not stupid, but is there a trick to this? Perhaps this could be a topic for another one of your fine videos. Thanks to your excellent instruction, I soon will have the confidence to move forward on a careful restoration of these amps. If I can get the cover off!
@@AHFixIt All four feet are off and the chassis still won't budge! Faceplate and knobs are still on. This unit has caused at least one other person to give up on it. Got any other ideas?
@@AHFixIt I had to remove the feet, knobs, the face plate, and then it came out back first. Maybe I have an early type wooden case. Do you have any idea what the door on the bottom is for? There is a compartment beneath the door with a label saying something about a Matrix Decoder or something.
Hello sir, I've been in process of rebuilding a Pioneer SX-828. I bought it for pretty cheap just to have fun and learn how to rebuild these units. However, the speaker selector switch is broken. I've been looking around for nearly a year. I've seen more units or there, but I would hate to sacrifice one for another. Do you have any suggestions to fix the speaker selector issue?
I dont understand what is a "loudness tab"? Does it have an inbuilt switch (push pull) to switch between the two potentiometers? What is the second one for? Should technically do the same as the one before, my harman kardon is better than that, does not need this.
Nice, this video really helped boost my confidence in replacing a volume pot on my 2275, thanks!

Hilarious!
Nearly finish. Hope you'll get the outer dial scale panel with the plastic frame. Once again good job. Can't wait to see it finish.

I have three units at Inner sound right now in the queue. Best Regards from south of Salem.

Love the masking tape, I would have said AR’s. 👊🏻
Anyone who’s installed a blend pot in their guitar will recognize that style of pot!

Thanks! I believe you just remove the bottom four screws for the feet and the receiver should slide out face first

Did your speakers pop when you pushed speaker 1 button ?
you can put contact cleaner on it and turn it a bit and it will work again.

Then you most likely have worms in your tubes. This is a circular problem, try an anti parasitical therapy. Best Wishes turtle muncher.
Most Marantz cultists eat turtles. You’re normal.
