Got my '23 ninja 650 since the very beginning of the year and i love that bike. Anyways, I've been thinking about buying the dc outlet so thanks for the video.
Alright, good luck. If u see my video, I test it using an air compressor for my car. I just connect it to see if there is power. Don't actually run the compressor or anything too powerful. If you do, it may blow a fuse. It's only 5 amps so just connect low power stuff like cameras, phones, etc. Also, there are cheap portable air compressor that charge via USB that I use on my bike on Amazon.
@@genxjya is there any way I can get you to drop a link for the compressor you carry on your ninja? Does it stow away under the seat in the storage area? I also went ahead and ordered the same USB/USBC thing you had linked in the description. In wondering if there’s a way I could modify the cover to close with the flush USB inserted
@EvanGunStuff This is what I got. Had it since May and still working fine but looks like it's not available. a.co/d/dW0hbsF Don't have to get anything too expensive. Maybe something like this one? a.co/d/3FZLaul I carry it on my tail bag. It's too fat to store under seat. Check the dimensions on mine and look for slightly skinnier one and maybe it will fit.
Patrick, update on quadlock pro. It gets a little loose after a few rides. Just need to tighten again but I'm gonna return it and get this instead Mounts Lab MotoMount Ninja- Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle for 12mm Hexagon Hole Mount/Fork stem Base Mount with 1inch(25mm) Ball- Compatible with Phone/Camera/GPS Mount(Adapter), black (ML-Ninja01) a.co/d/5pHKACj
On my brand new zx6r I dont have that room for the outlet but i’ll try and see if i got the wiring pre made at least so i don’t have to work so much..😅
If it doesn't have that circular hole then most likely it doesn't have that direct connection in the side. Search on google for motorcycle usb that connects directly to battery.
Too bad you skipped so many steps for a video. Magically everything was hooked up. I’m curious if you can snip the wires to the connector and install bullets as the oem is still pretty expensive.
Im just giving out key pointers for the install and most of my vids will be this way. So you want to change the connection on bike to bullets? I guess that's possible if you are familiar with splicing and electrical stuff. Remove side fairing following steps in tst industries vid. Locate the connection near the top as I mentioned. Remove from dummy plug then splice. I haven't done this so can't 100% guarantee it will work but I think it should. One correction on vid is that the connection is 5 amps not 3 amps. Good luck.
I'm not sure but don't think it's worth the trouble. Maybe you can get additional lights you can mount on each side of front fairing? Anyway, I sold this bike and have a new Yamaha MT-07. Check out my vid here: ua-cam.com/video/eATKWQZPaCU/v-deo.htmlsi=FeykdNcKHU38007S
I'm not sure but if you don't have that dummy hole next to dash then probably don't have the power connector. You would probably need to buy amazon usb that connects to battery directly.
Go to this video 8 minute mark. ua-cam.com/video/zIG7lg390kA/v-deo.htmlsi=8v7iHrb5pfIAu6ej After removing the plastic piece, u will see a box with 3 sections. For the outlet, it's the middle section. Check each fuse to see if it's burnt. There should be spares there.

Man, I bought this bike a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been searching high and low for an install video for the DC outlet! Thanks for uploading!
Ya, I was looking like crazy too. Hope it helps, let me know if you have any questions.
I'll be using this as a guide for the 2024 I just bought. Thank you!
It's really simple. Let me know if you have any questions.

i just ordered a 650 as well thanks for the video man the vid on the quad lock helped me too.
Awesome, I'm loving the bike so far and I'm sure you will too. Already got 600 miles and I think I'm gonna do the break-in service myself.

My brand new zx6r doesn’t even have the spot for the usb but i’ll try to look for the wiring to see if i can arrange it differently !

@@genxjya Thank you for the reply. How's the MT-07 going? Was it worth the upgrade from the Ninja 650? Planning to do the same thing 😅😅
@larjunildelacruz1257 So far so good but it's a new bike. Working on a initial review now.
Hi
Thank you for the videos.
I want to buy a ninja 650 as well.
Did you noticed vibrations at the handlebar witch are annoying?
Thank you.👍👍
Just normal vibrations. Nothing out of the ordinary. Right now I have 4800 miles and still no issues at all.
@@genxjya Thank you👍🙏
Where did you get the phone holder?

Here's the vid of phone holder. Product links are in the video description.
Very good video
Thanks
Is this setup exactly the same as the 2022 ZX6R?
I'm not sure but if you don't have that dummy hole next to dash then probably don't have the power connector. You would probably need to buy amazon usb that connects to battery directly.
Do you think this works for a 2024 Versys?
@vblanson Essentially the same bike so I think it should work but I can't guarantee...
Wait, so the cable is ready to be plugged in from factory? You don't need to cut any wires to get the 12V?
Yes, as long as you have a 2020 or above. If you have a older model then there should be bullet connector somewhere under windshield.
@@genxjya Yeah i have the same 2023 model. Thanks for telling me because the dealership told me it wouldn't be plug and play.
Where did you get the one with the bullet connections? I have a 2018 ninja 650 and it has the pre installed bullet connections
Got it from Walmart. Quality looked ok and very cheap. If this one is not available then there are similar ones there
www.walmart.com/ip/3618522024
Also, you need the relay for your model and it comes with it.
@@genxjya thanks man I appreciate 👍🏽
