On October 9, Sonam Wangchuk and his supporters entered the fourth day of their indefinite fast at Ladakh Bhawan in Delhi. After submitting a memorandum to the union government on October 2, they are still awaiting a meeting with top officials, as promised. Despite being denied permission to conduct their fast at Jantar Mantar, the group continues their peaceful protest for Ladakh’s statehood and the implementation of the Sixth Schedule to protect the fragile ecosystem of the region.
